Hi, I'm Nirav Soni. I'm a psychologist and I offer in person sessions in Princeton, NJ as well as virtual sessions in NJ and in New York. I have a background in working with students and people in their 20's and 30's. As a therapist I strive to be warm, interactive, and engaging. The people I work with tend to struggle with depression, anxiety, difficulty regulating emotions and problems focusing. I'm happy to help talk to you if you're confused by what you might be experiencing for the first time, or whether you need ongoing support for your mental health difficulties.
If you have found yourself questioning: "Who am I? Where am I going? What the hell is my purpose? Why do I keep repeating these toxic cycles?”, you found the right therapist. I will help you learn concrete and intentional coping skills to build a life that is worth living and full of meaning and freedom from the mental carousel you’re on. I specialize in treating eating disorders, trauma, anxiety & depression, perfectionism, and those who are looking to explore their purpose more deeply. I use mindfulness based therapy and solution focused interventions to help you gain more control over your mind & body, emotions, and relationships, so that you can live presently and intentionally. I am a Certified Eating Disorders Specialist with 14 years of experience treating eating disorders, complex trauma, anxiety & depression, chronic shame & perfectionism, and those who are looking to explore their purpose more deeply. I use mindfulness based therapy and solution focused interventions to help you gain more control over your mind & body, emotions, and relationships, so that you can live presently and intentionally. I have specific and advanced training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Prolonged Exposure Therapy, & compassion focused and mindfulness based therapies. I strive to create a safe, supportive, healing environment and describe my style as grounded, non-judgmental, irreverent, and authentic. I’m kinda funny too! I love to incorporate mind/body practices with intuitive eating principles to help clients achieve full food/body image recovery and freedom. I have experience working in various treatment settings where I assisted with curriculum and program development, and research surrounding the treatment of eating disorders.
Cutting edge psychological and neuroscientific research is showing us that mind and body are closely linked. While my role as a therapist is to provide informed guidance and work with you to address the thoughts, feelings and behaviors that are causing distress and interfering with your ability to manifest all of your potential, my approach is highly collaborative, holistic, somatically-focused and trauma informed. I believe that every person holds the seeds to their own healing, and deserves a safe and supportive space to facilitate personal transformation. Every person is unique and so will need an approach suited to their needs and their deeper self. Through the use of different therapeutic approaches to supplement traditional psychotherapy, I will work with you to understand those places where you may be stuck. Together we can discover new and more satisfying ways of being.
I have a speciality in working with LGBTQIA+ individuals, especially GNC and transgender folks. At any stage of development, we are bound to encounter obstacles to our ability to thrive. I help clients to become proactive agents in their own process. I work with young adults to reduce symptoms, promote growth, and instill lasting change. I guide healing from anxiety, trauma, grief, and depression and OCD. I am licensed in AL, AZ, AR, CT, CO, DE, GA, FL, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, ME, MD, MI, MN, MO, NE, NV, NH, NJ, NC, ND, OH, OK, PA, RI, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, WV, WI, WY. I have extensive experience in both psychology and education. With adults I find that the AEDP (Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy) as well as IFS (Internal Family Systems) Models show effectiveness. For children and teens I draw from CBT, and DBT. The pandemic has posed exceptional mental health challenges for youth. I encourage you to take action sooner rather than later if you or a loved one might be suffering. You are not alone in whatever you are facing and seeking help is a strong intelligent step
I use an integrative, holistic approach, which can include psychotherapies, narrative structuring, and psychopharmacology towards improved insight, function, and happiness. I have practices in Princeton, NYC, and I am licensed in California as well.
Hi there! I'm Beth Fier, Licensed Professional Counselor and Clinical Director for SEED Services: Partners for Counseling & Wellness. Our practice offers services that are rooted in evidence based treatment approaches, including Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) for perfectionism, shame and self-critical difficulties, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) for regulating emotions and impulsivity, and the Gottman Method for relationship counseling to name a few. Currently, most of my own work is with individuals who struggle to manage high levels of self-criticism, shame, and/or the patterns of avoidance or over-striving that are often associated with anxiety, depression, problem perfectionism, and trauma. However, we also employ therapists specializing in couples counseling and in working with grief and loss, whether this may be related to our changing post-Covid environment, relational losses or to other difficult life transitions. I have grown to value and believe that we cannot separate mental health from physical, social, or spiritual health. Consequently, within our practice, we typically work from an integrated perspective. We incorporates attention to our social learning history, body-based health, emotional experiencing as we explore patterns of thought and behavior. Most recently, I have completed certification training as a Mental Health Integrative Medicine Provider (CMHIMP) and as a provider for Stephen Porges' Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP). This protocol involves the use of specially filtered music to strengthen the inner ear muscle. This helps us to improve autonomic regulation. This can be particularly useful when there have been experiences of threat or trauma within the context of important relationships. Some of my other experience has included teaching as an adjunct faculty member, supervising clinical interns and new professionals, serving on the executive board of the New Jersey Counseling Association (NJCA), and volunteering as past president for the New Jersey Association for Multicultural Counseling (NJAMC).
Welcome! I am so glad you are taking the first steps to feeling better. Whether you are suffering from relationship struggles, depression, difficulty adjusting, anxiety, loss, trauma or just need someone to talk to about your life, I welcome you to reach out to see if my services and treatment are right for you. I offer traditional psychotherapy, expressive therapy, and EMDR. My office (in-person and virtual) is a safe place to share what weighs on you, heal trauma and learn about healthy ways of coping and interacting with people in your life. Together we can make a plan for a fulfilling and positive future. The first step is reaching out. From there we can work together to help you feel better.

I believe therapy can help one learn to navigate strong emotions and better regulate one's responses to life's challenges. Feeling understood and validated by one's therapist can allow one to develop insight into thoughts, feelings and behaviors. In knowing the context and meaning that underlies how we relate to the self, to others and to the world, we have greater choice in breaking free from distressing patterns that may be keeping us stuck. Over time, the therapeutic relationship becomes the vehicle that allows one to carve a personal and professional life that feels satisfying and deeply meaningful. The core foundation of my work with clients is establishing a warm and empathic space that allows them to express, explore and understand their struggles which have resulted from a unique mix of internal and external dynamics. I believe in working in a collaborative and flexible framework, drawing from various theoretical orientations and perspectives on mental health and suffering. I have worked extensively with clients dealing with depression, anxiety and other clinical diagnoses. I also have experience working with issues related to life transitions, grief and loss, trauma/abuse and difficulties in relationships including family conflict. I am deeply interested in struggles stemming from identity and identity intersectionality related issues around sexual orientation, gender identity, SES, race and more.
