I am a licensed clinical social worker with 10+ years providing treatment to young adults coping with transitions. College is a time where you will experience lots of changes. While it can be a really exciting, all of these changes can be stressful and at times really challenging to navigate. If you're feeling depressed, anxious, unmotivated, or lonely, therapy can help you find a place to voice your feelings and identify steps to help you as you navigate college. I offer a warm and empathic approach focused on making you feel heard, seen, and supported. My practice is eclectic where I integrate techniques from several modalities to fit my clients and their unique needs. I am passionate about providing therapy to my clients and working together to help them find hope and healing. I find it one of the privileges of my life to walk with people as they navigate some of life’s hardest journeys. Phone: (609) 495-5940 Website: hopefulheartstherapy.org

You give so much to others. What would it be like to care for you too? You’re insightful and you are strong. You’ve been doing the inner work. But life still feels off and you feel stuck in relationships where you give more than you get. Maybe you expected adulthood to bring joy, but instead, it leaves you feeling reactive, drained, or disconnected. Or perhaps at work or school, you're high functioning, but inside, you're stretched too thin. You might be exhausted from keeping everyone else regulated while losing touch with your own needs. Or you might be silently carrying guilt for wanting space or simply having needs at all. If any of that sounds familiar, you’re in the right place. In therapy, I help thoughtful, open-hearted clients explore what’s beneath the surface, untangle stuck patterns, and finally feel at home in their own skin. Together, we’ll go beyond talk to bring healing into your body, your relationships, and your everyday life. The Moments That Move Me What lights me up in this work? Watching you reclaim your power. There’s something magical about the moment a client says, “I stayed calm during that meltdown,” or “I didn’t spiral this time.” I love seeing the pride in your face when you realize you can do hard things, and do them in a way that’s aligned with who you truly are. I also love the joy that you experience when you are able to truly stay present in your relationships. One of my favorite parts of this work is seeing you realize that you don’t have to filter yourself here. You can show up as you are, say what’s real for you, and still feel respected. That kind of comfort and honesty is what makes therapy powerful and deeply meaningful to me. I Keep It Real, Warm, and Deeply Human I have a unique ability to… -Bring humor and heart to even the toughest topics -Help motivated, thoughtful clients soften into themselves -Use somatic, body-based practices to go beyond insight and into healing -Build trust quickly with warmth, curiosity, and a big laugh Clients say I’m easy to talk to, deeply supportive, and refreshingly down-to-earth. If you hear laughter coming from my office, it’s just another sign that healing doesn’t have to be heavy all the time. My Professional Background I earned my Doctorate in Social Work from Rutgers University and my Master’s in Social Work from the University of Maryland. I’m trained in EMDR and somatic approaches including Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, because I believe real healing often starts in the body. I also teach and consult on trauma-informed care, especially around sexual trauma, childhood trauma, emotional regulation, and parenting, Whether I’m working with a client, a fellow clinician, or a school district, my goal is always the same: to create safer, more connected spaces for growth. Ready to Start? You don’t have to keep navigating this alone. Whether you’re struggling in your relationships, overwhelmed, or just feeling stuck in life, therapy can help you reconnect—with yourself, your needs, and the life you want to live. I offer a free 15-minute consultation to see if we’re the right fit. Reach out at KStolow@KSTherapy.org or 732-659-0496 to schedule yours today.

In our relationships with ourselves or others, we all have times where the weight of life can make us feel off balance... In my practice my goal is to take the client from where they are and explore individualized solutions that restore a sense of alignment. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who uses an integrative approach, drawing from Solution Focused Brief (SFBT), Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Mindfulness-Based (MBCT), and Trauma Focused therapies. I became a clinician because of my passion for using communication as a survival kit. As a therapist it’s all about being present and taking the client from where they are in that moment. I find it a privilege to have clients settle into my office as a safe space where they can release their stress and pain, and hold their challenges. I see my role as a mediator; delicately decoding language and behavior patterns. I believe that early, proactive intervention can dramatically improve lives.  I work with adolescents, college students. young adults, individuals, families and couples. I have extensive experience in collaborating with referring pediatricians, child study teams, teachers, school counselors, professors, and mediators. I specialize in severe anxiety, panic attacks, ADD, and grief work.

I have worked with Princeton undergraduate and graduate students for many years and understand well the many and varied challenges which students may face; in fact, my MSW field work and my first job were at Princeton's Counseling Center. Many of my clients share a need to explore familial relationships to understand their behavioral patterns and how to make those patterns healthier. My approach ranges from DBT and mindfulness work for anxiety and depression to the traditional psychodynamic and interpersonal therapy. I am also a psychoanalyst, trained at the New Jersey Institute for Psychoanalysis. Among the various issues I treat are anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, grief, behavioral patterns, and academic stress.

You may feel discouraged, overwhelmed, or exhausted right now. You may have challenges in your relationships with family members or friends. You may be struggling to find a sense of purpose. Imagine what it would be like to have someone really listen to your story. Using a psychodynamic and relational approach, I help my clients identify patterns and recurring themes in their lives. College can be exciting, but let’s be real—it can also be a lot. Between academic pressures, social expectations, and figuring out who you are, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed or stuck. I provide a supportive, insight-driven space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences on a deeper level. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, imposter syndrome, relationship challenges, or major life transitions, I can help you untangle the patterns holding you back and develop a stronger sense of self. My approach is warm, collaborative, and culturally sensitive. Therapy should be a space where you feel safe, heard, and free to show up as your authentic self. I specialize in working with college students and young adults navigating self-doubt, stress, identity exploration, and the pressure to have everything “figured out.” If you’ve ever felt like you don’t belong, like you’re constantly chasing perfection, or like your emotions are all over the place—I see you, and I’m here to help. For those in relationships, I also work with couples looking to improve communication, break unhealthy patterns, and build a more fulfilling connection. Whether you’re dealing with conflict, struggling with intimacy, or navigating big changes, I help partners gain clarity and strengthen their bond. I believe therapy isn’t about having all the answers. I believe it’s about giving yourself the space to grow, reflect, and move forward in a way that feels right for you. If you're ready to start that journey, I’d love to support you. I am under supervision with Tracey Post, LCSW

The goal of therapy, as I see it, is not to make a person perfectly happy or to get rid of all pain in life – that would be unrealistic and also not consistent with being a vibrant, thinking and feeling human. However, I do believe that it is the work of therapy to help people experience their lives as meaningful, to help people move in the direction of achieving their goals in life, to live a life where they are able to feel at peace with themselves, forgive themselves, treat themselves with care and respect, and give themselves permission to rest and experience joy. In order to do that we often have to understand the forces that are currently keeping someone stuck in patterns that are painful and unhelpful. Often this has to do with a lack of internal freedom - people often feel that they have no choice but to think and feel as they do now, but this is very rarely true. It becomes our work in therapy to uncover those degrees of freedom that a person actually possesses but has been thus far unaware of. In order for this exploration to be possible, first and foremost a person has to feel safe in our therapy relationship. It is my goal to create an atmosphere of safety, curiosity and playfulness. An atmosphere where a person can feel free from judgement and open to exploring parts of self that have thus far remained hidden. We work together to develop acceptance and compassion for who someone is at present and a sense of hope and excitement about the ways in which they can grow and evolve.

Looking for mental health help is an important step in one’s personal journey. The next crucial piece is finding rapport with a therapist—maybe the most important part of therapy. Perhaps you struggle with anxiety or depression or trauma, or are at a crossroads in your work or personal life, whatever the case may be, our work will examine the complex array of emotions, patterns, and history that inform your feelings and actions. I have training in Trauma-Informed treatment, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Imago, Mindfulness, and broader psychodynamic work and take a creative approach in treatment, putting together a range of interventions tailored to each individual client. I work with clients of all ages, across the lifespan and have deeper experience working with college and post-collegiate aged adults, new mothers, and anyone dealing with life transitions. I have also worked with people struggling with gender and sexual identity and how those important concerns have intersected with their cultures. I believe that a strength-based perspective helps a person to reconsider his or her conception of self and this can aid a person in working toward a growth mindset. I have also studied the use of mindfulness for managing anxiety and gaining the self-awareness necessary for living a calmer, less reactive life. We can work together on learning coping strategies and how to implement them to help you cope more confidently.
