Some of us hold immense pain resulting from isolation, shame, humiliation, oppression, and marginalization felt individually and collectively. My clinical work is rooted in anti-racism and informed by Relational-Cultural Theory. I utilize a variety of trauma informed techniques and approaches to meet my clients’ needs. Together, we will collaborate in identifying both individual and systemic elements that have impacted your well being and unlock your full potential by uncovering the strengths, courage, and solutions that are already inside of you. I believe healing happens when we are able to deeply connect to ourselves and others. I have worked with adolescents and adults, particularly transition-age youth (ages 16–25), struggling with general life stressors, life transitions, depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, relationship & attachment issues, body image, personal identity, and LGBTQ+ issues. I have supported clients with exceptionalities and/or those who identify as neurodivergent. I believe the client/counselor relationship is the best indicator of a client's success in therapy. Please call or email me to schedule a free phone consultation to determine whether or not we are a good fit for your healing process.

As a former clinical director of Tulane's Counseling and Psychological Services and with over twenty years of experience as a psychiatrist, I have helped thousands of college students improve their mental health and thrive. I want my patients to get better as quickly and as safely as possible, so I maintain a private practice that focuses on providing personal, caring, and expert treatment of psychiatric illnesses. I am a board-certified psychiatrist by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. I have held various leadership and director positions in both inpatient and outpatient settings. I am a New Orleans native and attended UCLA and Tulane for undergraduate studies in psychology and biology. I attended LSU-New Orleans for medical school and attended Tulane for my residency in psychiatry, where I served as Chief Resident. I feel privileged to serve the community in which I was raised and now live. I have received additional training at both Duke University Medical Center (2017) and Harvard Medical School (2024) in TMS (transcranial magnetic stimulation). TMS is a non-medication FDA-cleared treatment for both treatment-resistant depression and OCD. I currently serve as an adjunct Assistant Professor in the Tulane Department of Psychiatry.
My practice focuses on trauma, eating disorders and life transitions; while also working with more general presentations of anxiety, depression, mood swings, impulsivity, grief and loss, emotional regulation, and self-view. I value diversity and will encourage your personal identities; understanding that individual identity impacts our experiences. As we navigate our lives, we develop beliefs about ourself through our experiences. These beliefs have powerful effects on our sense of belonging, our attempts to receive love and affection, and our desires for intimacy. Feeling accepted and valued can result in a sense of self that approaches life with trust, confidence and flexibility. When difficult events arise, or we feel rejected and mistreated, the way we view ourself and our efficacy can be impacted. While we cannot change the experiences of our life, we can rewrite the meaning we assign to those experiences and free ourself from the associated distress. I approach psychotherapy with compassion, respect for your autonomy and acceptance of your experiences. My goal is to support you in understanding how the experiences of your life have impacted your beliefs about who you are and to increase awareness about how your power of choice can be utilized to support emotional and psychological wellness.

Dr. Klenck holds specialized training in evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, dialectical behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, exposure therapy, and mindfulness-based practices for the treatment of anxiety disorders (including trauma and stressor-related disorders, social anxiety disorder, panic disorder, agoraphobia, generalized anxiety, and other phobias), depressive bipolar and related disorders and a wide range of other difficulties. Dr. Klenck focuses on evidence-based treatment and evidence-based assessment practices, but finds the most important factor in therapy is the therapeutic relationship. Without a strong alliance with the client, she finds a therapist is limited in their ability to help the individual effect change.
As humans, how we feel in and about our relationships is so important. So it makes sense that it can feel pretty awful when we feel unseen or like we don't belong. Reaching out when we are unsure who will meet us or how they will treat us is a hard thing to do. Still, at every step, I strive to support my clients with compassion and curiosity as we explore their unique and intuitive process toward becoming their most authentic selves. I feel deeply honored to get to explore with my clients new ways of being and relating to others. Where others may judge, instead we can celebrate what it means to be you. I offer sliding scale, low-cost individual counseling services, as well as couples and family counseling. Additionally, I am fully trained in EMDR, which can help resolve long-held traumatic memories In therapy, finding the right fit is essential. I offer free 15-minute phone consultations to answer any questions you may have and help you decide on the best path forward for you. If you find that I'm not the best fit, I am of course more than happy to point you towards others who might be.

I have years of experience working with graduate and undergraduate students to navigate the unique challenges this phase of life can bring. I support clients in navigating life transitions, identity development, values clarity, emotion regulation, and shame resilience. I also work with clients on attachment-related relationship dynamics and challenges that stem from early childhood or other attachment injuries. By connecting in a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental space, clients are able to explore their internal worlds and gain clarity as well as a renewed sense of empowerment in their lives. It is through this person-centered approach that clients gain insight and begin to heal, resulting in healthier relationships with others and with the self. I draw from ACT (Acceptance & Commitment Therapy) and am advanced trained in EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy). I am also a yoga teacher and integrate mindfulness into my work with clients. Life presents all of us with challenges that we are not meant to navigate alone. It is infinitely more meaningful when we can explore our inner worlds in the safe presence of another.
I am passionate about helping individuals achieve their personal goals through an empowering and collaborative therapeutic relationship. I strive to create a supportive space where clients feel heard, understood, and respected as we work together toward healing and growth. My areas of focus include anxiety, depression, ADHD, and trauma.
