In therapy, I strive to create space where clients may explore their inner landscapes and make sense of themselves in their relationships and larger social contexts. I believe that most people have parts of themselves that are affirmed and other parts that have gone underground — perhaps as a result of relational injury, lack of environmental mirroring, or trauma. I seek to develop a supportive relationship where clients can begin to see the unseen and speak the unspeakable and, with self compassion and courage, work to integrate those parts and reduce suffering and experience deeper connection and meaning. That describes, in part, the process of exploratory therapy but what is a session actually like? We talk. People share their stories— maybe the latest relationship entanglement, feeling burdened with perfectionism, dissecting a racial microaggression that happened in class, or a painful memory from elementary school. I’m curious about nuance and felt experience and I reflect and ask questions to help deepen understanding. I work through psychodynamic, intersectional, and multicultural lenses. I have worked extensively with undergraduate and graduate students in both domestic and international settings. And, I have experience working with a range of presenting concerns including anxiety, stress, complex identity, immigration, and loss. I’ve been described as kind, patient, inquisitive, and discerning. Prior to moving to Princeton in 2015, I lived in China for five years during which I worked as a therapist at Community Center Shanghai and NYU Shanghai. I am originally from Taiwan and immigrated to the US as a child. My biracial and bicultural heritage along with my immigrant and expatriate experiences have created a particular interest in working with international students, immigrants, people who identify as mixed race, and students either preparing for or returning from studying abroad. My private practice is conveniently located walking distance from Princeton University campus on 344 Nassau Street. I work extensively with graduate and undergraduate students and accept PU student health insurance (students are responsible for their $10 copay).

A beautiful thing about our bodies is that our bodies can talk to us. Our bodies can provide us with data that can be beneficial to our mental and physical state of being. Breaking down and analyzing that data can be key to understanding what we need to help ourselves. We can discuss trauma recovery, relationship intimacy (including monogamy, polyamory, and open relationships), sex positivity, BDSM and kink, peer relationships, family relationships, body image, anxiety, stress, depression, self growth, and life transitions. I also specialize in working with Deaf & Hard of Hearing (D/HH) folks, issues in D/HH identity and culture, and parents and family members of D/HH children. I can provide therapy in American Sign Language (ASL) for both D/HH and hearing folks (CODAs, SODAs, SpODAs, interpreters, learners, etc.) alike. Join me on a transparent, attentive, and open path as we work together to unleash the magic of YOU. It all begins with you. There is no time like now.

I believe in meeting clients where they are at! Every person is resilient. I intend our collaboration to remind you of your strengths, provide you tools to weather the storms of life, and a safe space to gain insight into your truest self. I come to social work from a social justice background and recognize that trauma and oppression are often intertwined. Acknowledging systemic issues is a vital part of my practice, particularly for youth and families directly impacted by it. Teaching you to advocate successfully on your own behalf, whether it be in your relationships or larger systems, is also essential. I work with children, teens and adults (ages 4+). My primary specialties are LGBTQ+ issues, particularly working with Trans/Enby young folks, grief and loss issues, and pregnancy and parenting issues. I also have experience working with multicultural families. I have extensive experience with behavioral and mood issues, as well as neurodivergence.

You can do hard things... that’s what led you here! Welcome. I hope you feel proud of ‘showing up’ today. We all want and deserve to feel seen; yet it is often uncomfortable for us to invite in vulnerability and allow others to see us, genuinely and authentically as we are. Sometimes, it’s even hard for us to see and accept ourselves. I believe strong therapeutic alliances and environments foster safe and brave space to explore existential questions, sit with thoughts and feelings, challenge internalized messages, societal norms, expectations and systems that cause us to feel boxed in. Think of therapy not as a way to ‘change’ or ‘fix’ who we are, but to ‘return’ to who we are, by peeling back the layers that have formed to protect us, quieting external noise that shapes our internal dialogue and listening and returning to the beauty of who we already are. Our value is inherent; together we can re-discover and connect to our inner knowing. Areas for exploration include anxiety, connecting wholeheartedly in relationships, navigating career and workplace related matters, exploring various aspects of identity, reflecting on purpose and meaning, and gaining deeper insight into the inner workings of ourselves. I am glad you are here and looking forward to connecting with you.

I believe a compassionate and supportive therapeutic relationship creates a safe, non-judgmental atmosphere allowing clients to fully explore their concerns, identify their options, and begin to make the changes they seek. I help clients better understand their patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving which provides the foundation for making purposeful changes in their lives and relationships.

Thank you for taking the first step and reaching out for support. My name is Gina Hernandez from Guided Path Therapy and Consulting and I am licensed in NJ, PA and Fl. Therapy is not a one size fits all, so I customize the sessions based on the goals you have for yourself. Therapy offers a space that’s just for you — to talk things out, understand yourself better, and learn tools to manage everything life throws your way. Whether you’re struggling with motivation, relationships, identity, or the weight of perfectionism, you don’t have to handle it alone. Our sessions focus on: Stress and Anxiety Management: Learn healthy ways to cope and find calm. Self-Confidence and Identity: Discover who you are and what truly matters to you. Relationships and Communication: Build stronger, more authentic connections. Balance and Boundaries: Find peace between school, work, and personal life. Therapy isn’t about “fixing” you — it’s about helping you grow into your best self. You deserve support that understands the challenges of college life and helps you navigate them with confidence and clarity. Your journey to a better tomorrow starts here and I would be honored to be there with you on this path.

My name is Kevin Kavookjian (though everyone refers to me as "Dr.K"). I have worked for nearly 20 years as an adult psychiatrist treating numerous conditions, from depression to anxiety. Years ago, when I lived in Maine, I was one of the mental health providers at Bates College's student health center. Given this experience, I am familiar with some of the challenges and stressors that college students face. I can see you in person Thursday afternoons at my office location on Nassau Street, or we can do telehealth visits (using the DOXY platform) if this day does not work for you. We can always figure out a time that works around your school schedule.

In my practice I strive to help my clients feel comfortable and safe while exploring the ways their past and present patterns of relationships have affected their ability to manage emotions which may disrupt their flow. I believe strongly that political, cultural, social, and family dynamics influence who we become. For those persons who have experienced trauma from oppression, race, class or gender it is most important to disentangle the way the world sees us from who we really are. I follow the themes that each person brings and hope to shed light on the ways any or all of these experiences prove to be obstacles to our mental well being. My hope is always to bring hope and change so that the psychotherapeutic journey leads one's self or selves to experience joy, love and productivity in their present life and their dreamed of future.

I bring over fifteen years of experience in trauma-informed care, supporting individuals and groups who are navigating anxiety, depression, and stress related to chronic health concerns. I work with people from many backgrounds and have a special focus on women’s life experiences and the unique challenges that can arise throughout different stages of life. I believe healing happens best through a collaborative, client-centered relationship where you are respected as the expert of your own experience. My approach is strengths-based and holistic, tailored to honor each person’s pace, needs, and goals. By thoughtfully integrating complementary therapeutic approaches—including mindfulness, mind-body awareness, and EMDR—I support clients in safely exploring patterns or beliefs that may no longer serve them. Together, the work focuses on building insight, behavior change, resilience, and a deeper sense of connection, helping clients move toward a life that feels more grounded, meaningful, and fulfilling.
