The transition from teenager and family to independence/adulthood is many things: satisfying, exhilarating, fun, scary, and overwhelming to name a few. Add to that high pressure academics and you have the potential for stress, loneliness, anxiety and depression. You don't have to manage it all on your own, please ask for help when you need it!

Mental health is the foundation of everything: our health, happiness, success, and sense of community. As a Licensed Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, I use evidence based treatments and a holistic approach to help support individuals navigating mental health challenges. My education at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) and my 5 years of practice at the Center for Hope and Health have provided invaluable experience and specialized training using CBT interventions to treat anxiety, depression, OCD, eating disorders, and trauma-stressor related disorders. I am trained in a variety of evidence based models including Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for Eating Disorders, and Prolonged Exposure for PTSD, which enhances my ability to provide targeted interventions for clients. I am committed to providing an empathetic and warm approach to therapy coupled with evidence based techniques in order to create a safe and supportive environment for clients to explore their thoughts and feelings, build resilience, and to heal. I look forward to connecting with you!

Research shows that the single greatest factor leading to successful outcomes in therapy is the relationship between client and therapist. Together, we’ll create a safe, compassionate, judgment-free therapeutic space for you to breathe, reflect, explore, and be heard. EMDR: Memories of a traumatic event may appear not as a memory but as a cluster of symptoms. EMDR is a type of psychotherapy that allows you to process these unprocessed memories so they can be effectively stored away. Research has found that EMDR is one of the most effective ways to treat trauma and relieve symptoms. EMDR can also be applied to unpleasant associations, intrusive thoughts, OCD, and other issues. LGBTQI+ Concerns: For those of us in the LGBTQI+ community, it can be challenging to find comfort and safety in a world that is often negating—and even hostile—toward queer people. Psychotherapy can provide a new sense of hope for each of us. Even when the room we share is virtual, it’s a room where you can feel comfortable to explore at your own pace, cultivating a practice of self-acceptance and self-love as you move forward. ARTISTS/WRITERS: What if your needs are met and it’s time to pursue your dreams? We can explore the artistic/literary pursuits that might have been deprioritized because of crisis, external challenges, self-doubt, or a feeling that you didn’t deserve to do what you want. We’ll unpack the myths of “success” and “failure,” map out the steps of your artistic process, and find ways to integrate your creative self into your life. I can partner with you to address challenges including: • Orientation and Gender Concerns and Coming Out • Sex and Sexuality • Trauma and PTSD (Certified Trauma Professional) • Alcohol/Substance Use Issues • Obsessions and Negative Self-Talk • Grief and Loss • Anxiety and Stress • Depression • Creative Concerns (writers, artists, etc.) • Building a Life in Recovery I look forward to meeting you.

My practice offers caring and knowledgeable support. It takes courage to pursue therapy, so I provide a warm and non-judgmental environment in which effective therapy can take place. I have over fifteen years of experience working with Princeton students in managing such issues as anxiety, academic stress, self-criticism, perfectionism, feelings of inadequacy, relationship concerns, difficult family dynamics, and depression. My work with clients shows me that a balance of psychodynamic and mindfulness-based approaches can be life changing. Gaining self-awareness about our underlying beliefs and conditioning makes it possible to move forward in a more conscious and empowered way. Becoming more mindful in our day-to-day lives is calming and freeing. Different approaches are called for at different times in life. Sometimes you just need a little extra support and some coping strategies to get through a rough time, or sometimes going deeper to gain insight will transform old patterns. In my practice I help you to consider and honor your whole self: mind, body, emotions and spirit. I did my graduate training at Antioch New England and have completed trainings in Mindfulness and its applications to therapy as well as training in psychodynamic and transpersonal approaches. I have experience working with clients from diverse religious and cultural backgrounds, diverse racial and ethnic identities and differing sexual orientations. My practice is warmly and respectfully open to all. I draw upon many years of experience and a variety of approaches to best meet your unique needs. Training/Certification: Certified Counselor of Psychosynthesis, Training at Postpartum Stress Center, Trainings at Insight Meditation Society and Barre Center for Buddhist Studies Theoretical Orientation: Psychodynamic, Mindfulness-based Modalities: Individual Insurance Accepted: Princeton Aetna Student Health Plan (SHP)

While the decision to initially reach out to a psychotherapist can feel daunting, professional psychotherapy can alleviate the symptoms you are experiencing. Effective psychotherapy can enable you to move towards a life lived more fully, with reduced stress and challenges. Common areas of concern that bring patients to my practice include: Anxiety Depression Adjustment to changes in life circumstances Relationship issues Sexuality and intimacy issues Academic and work concerns Separation and divorce Grief and loss Trauma Child and adolescent behavioral concerns ADHD and learning disabilities Parenting challenges Adjustment to parenthood Psychological stressors of medical diagnoses Infertility and pregnancy loss Post-partum depression With more than 25 years in private psychotherapy practice, I have extensive experience working with patients of all ages: children, adolescents, university-age students, and adults. I am committed to a distinctive level of patient care, working with each patient in a style that combines insight and solution focus, in a supportive and professional environment. In our collaborative work, my patients and I seek to identify the current sources of distress leading the patient to seek psychotherapy, and to understand the psychological and life events that have contributed to those stressors. We then move forward to identify areas of change – both internal psychological factors and the ways in which the patient understands and moves through daily life. Psychotherapy is, therefore, a combination of psychological insight and practical solution-based skill learning.

Our weight-obsessed culture chastises and shames you, as though your body size is not only a personal moral failing, but a reliable indicator of poor health. Over time, you started internalizing this anti-fat bias, and often treat yourself with the same level of contempt. You either avoid seeking medical care altogether, or expose yourself to the risk of weight stigma (far more harmful than any presumed adverse effect of your weight itself). You forgot how to nourish yourself – sometimes forbidding yourself food, sometimes isolating in shame for a binge, sometimes "paying" via purge. But friend, you are meant to bloom - not shrink. I know this may be difficult to believe right now, but you are already lovely, wise, and worthy of much more in life. I’ll hold that thought for you as you relearn it, and we use it as the foundation of our work. From there, we’ll integrate cognitive behavioral strategies with EMDR to gain insights from the present to heal your old wounds once and for all. You deserve to fully enjoy, nourish, and be at peace with your body. Learn to better understand your thoughts and emotions, and stop wasting energy on what others think. Explore the root causes of the shame you've been taught, and work to move past it – your deepest self longs to be known. Call me now for your free consultation, and let’s get started today!

She | Her | Hers Compassion, curiosity, and consideration are at the heart of my work. I provide an affirming, person-centered, and non-judgmental space where we can collaborate on your journey toward growth, healing, and self-understanding. I love helping people to learn what's truly important to them, build empowerment, strengthen self-advocacy, develop a deeper sense of self, and enhance emotional regulation skills. I've had success doing that with adults, young adults, and adolescents. My areas of focus include anxiety, OCD, ADHD, trauma, stress, healthy relationships, communication, perfectionism, social and cultural pressure, self-esteem, emotional development, and supporting first-generation students. I believe in honoring your strengths, meeting you where you are, and creating a safe space for vulnerability.
