I approach my work with clients as a collaborative process, with empathy and trust as the most important factors. I find genuine connection to be healing, and I feel fortunate to provide that for clients in supporting them through self exploration and overcoming challenges. I believe anyone can benefit from counseling, whether it’s to sort through past experiences, deal with current struggles, or work towards future goals. Taking an integrative style to therapy, I am able to adjust my approach to the unique needs of each client.
My practice focuses on helping my clients identify and live according to their values. I meet my clients where they are at with empathy and acceptance, and together we explore their feelings, thoughts, strengths, and needs. I practice using a queer and trans-affirming, anti-racist, anti-ableist, trauma-informed lens. I tailor my sessions to meet the needs of each client, and I am also a certified Therapeutic Game Master who enjoys utilizing role play and games in therapy with adolescents and adults to practice skills for decision making, frustration tolerance, and managing conflict. I wear a mask at all in-person appointments and encourage my clients to wear one, as well.

Let’s be real. Life is hard. It is messy and crazy and sometimes, it just feels out of control. Your space is a mess, your roommates are on your last nerve, you have a major assignment to work on, and you just cannot get a moment to think straight. Then there’s that thought in the background that you’re not doing enough, that you’re not enough. You’re questioning yourself and feeling overwhelmed. College is hard. This phase of life is hard. Feeling the pressure to succeed can feel unbearable. This is where therapy comes in. To learn how to address these thoughts & emotions in a safe space and develop a plan of action to move forward, feeling confident in yourself.

Goooooood day to you, person seeking a therapist! I'm Karina Le, a licensed masters social worker who uses they/them pronouns. I'm a therapist who is passionate about walking alongside clients as they discover (or rediscover) their voice, reclaim their space, and reimagine what it means to live authentically. With a clinical foundation rooted in trauma-informed care, I specialize in supporting LGBTQ+ individuals, neurodivergent clients, people of color, and those navigating complex family dynamics or cultural transitions. I earned my Masters of Social Work from Nazareth and hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Rochester Institute of Technology. My clinical experience spans individual and group therapy over the past few years, including inpatient adolescent mental health care and work focused on CBT, DBT, identity development, and support for BIPOC students. I also have experiencing in case management during a time spent shadowing case managers in community mental health settings. What really grounds my work is a deep understanding of what it means to perform for others at the expense of self, and the transformative power of therapy to unlearn those patterns. I'm especially passionate about working with clients in transition: young adults entering new chapters, adults shifting paths, and anyone beginning to ask, “Who am I, really?” My approach is curious, nonjudgmental, and always rooted in the belief that therapy can be a radical act of self-love.
