Chrysalis Counseling
My areas of strength are relationship building and my compassion and warmth when working with college students, adolescents and adults. I am able to build a sense of resilience and hope with clients that I work with in treatment. I have a realistic and reasonable approach in meeting the individual needs of clients. I believe that each person requires personalized treatment and needs to be supported throughout the therapy process.
I have worked with the adolescent population within the school setting as a special educator and school counselor. My experience helped me develop superior relationship building and empathy. I continue in my practice to work with the college student and adult populations dealing with anxiety and depression, life transitions, stress management, relationship issues, social skills, self-harming behavior, and trauma.
I use an integrated approach to therapy with the main focus being Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I feel that being able to identify automatic thoughts, rationalizing and restructuring distorted thinking, is essential in bringing about positive mood changes. I am dedicated to providing ongoing support throughout the therapy process.
