I aim to meet the individualized needs of each person, couple, and family I work with and take a collaborative approach in setting goals for therapy. I use a family systems approach to explore how multiple areas of a person's life impacts their experiences and current struggles. I work on achieving these goals through a variety of measures, including personal exploration, role play and exercises used in and outside of session, implementation of improved communication skills, and boundary setting. My work with individuals, as well as couples and families focuses on relationships of all kinds. I address parenting issues, social skills, family conflict, and transitions including entrance into college and the workforce. I have experience working with substance abuse and mental health symptoms, including depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. I enjoy working with clients from all backgrounds, with a focus on couples, families, adolescents, and young adults. I am licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist in the State of Michigan. I am able to hold in person and telehealth appointments. Feel free to call or email me with any questions or to set up an appointment!

I'm a clinical social worker rooted in the ideals of self-determination, community justice, dignity, and liberation. I love working with youth and adults who have experienced life's hard edges and are ready to grow through the struggle. Whether it's dealing with the effects of trauma, depression or anxiety, issues in your relationships with yourself or others, the struggle of bringing your full and complex self into the world, or the psychic toll of structural inequality, I'll help you take stock of your strengths, create opportunities, and build your skills to diminish your suffering.

Life is full of challenges, which I view as opportunities for growth and learning. I've worked with college students on MSU's campus for nearly 10 years which has given me a depth of understanding to the unique challenges you face. I join alongside clients who are facing a wide range of issues including: navigating life transitions, interpersonal relationship conflicts, academic or professional challenges, adjusting to changes at home or in the family structure, exposure to abuse or neglect, establishing boundaries in relationships, healing from past trauma, and navigating grief and loss. We are all on our own journeys and I welcome the opportunity to join you on yours. Our work together will be interactive and reflective, with a healthy mix of challenge and humor. We will collaborate to find the approach that best meets your needs, and your feedback and input is an essential part of the process. I incorporate a trauma-informed lens to my work and seek to understand how past experiences have shaped our current disposition and automatic responses. I am committed to providing treatment that is anti-racist, culturally responsive and affirming. My practice is client-centered and strengths-based. I utilize a warm, accepting and compassionate approach. I believe in the power of the professional relationship between client/therapist and I want to work alongside you to improve your current situation and reach your desired goals.

Life changes happen to all of us. Sometimes they happen all at once and sometimes they happen over a long period of time. Maybe you've found yourself struggling to adjust to a major life change or maybe you've realized that it's time to talk about issues that have been building over many years. Whatever the case, I believe that now is the just the right time to begin the process of healing, building connection, and living more wholeheartedly. I believe in creating a safe and non-judgmental environment where you can feel free to explore your feelings, take risks, and engage in the hard work it takes to create lasting positive changes. I provide individual counseling to people of all ages, but specialize in working with teenagers and young adults. Taking the first step to create lasting changes can be a very difficult decision. It is an enormous privilege for me to witness the courage of each of my clients as they embark on their own journeys toward more connection, healing, and wholehearted living.

Together, we can explore solutions and positive growth. A brief therapy model is NOT compatible treatment for crisis, psychiatric emergencies, legal issues, active addictions, severe and persistent mental illness including suicidal or self-injurious behavior, nor those with histories of recent hospitalizations.
