I believe that the foundation to creating positive change begins with establishing a warm and welcoming environment where clients feel safe in sharing their experiences. My approach to counseling is client-centered as I integrate multiple treatment strategies to help clients reach their goals. This includes processing any ambivalence towards change, creating a better sense of self-awareness through meditative practices, as well as identifying and challenging maladaptive thoughts impacting a client’s emotional and overall wellbeing.

At LEAP – Lifelong Empowerment ABA & Psychotherapy, our mission is simple: to provide individualized, compassionate care that supports clients and families through every chapter of life. As both clinicians and mothers, we know how overwhelming it can be to navigate systems alone, whether that’s finding the right therapist, understanding a school’s special education process, or balancing care across multiple needs. LEAP offers options for both telehealth and in-person therapies and clients are serviced by specialized clinicians in their fields. We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all care. Everything we do is rooted in partnership with clients, caregivers, and other professionals to create tailored support that actually fits your life. We welcome feedback and are constantly evolving to meet the real needs of our community. LEAP is distinguished from other behavioral health providers because we provide services that fit every individual’s needs, creating convenience and collaboration among families and providers. Whether you’re reaching out for the first time or returning for the next stage of your journey, LEAP is here to walk alongside you.
I specialize in health, aging, grief and loss, and work with young adults, adults, and older adults. I work with anxiety and mood disorders, self-esteem issues, and relationship issues. My approach is CBT based, however I believe that developing a trusting relationship between client and therapist is of the utmost importance in making progress. I always aim to see the good in others and am genuinely fascinated by the way the human mind works: the way it can spiral out of control in not-so-helpful ways, for sure, but also the way it can persevere through nearly anything, protect us, and help us to create and share wonderful things. Therapy is something that I enjoy, honor and respect.
I am a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) with three years of experience providing mental health support across outpatient, school, and medical settings. I offer a compassionate, evidence-based approach to therapy for children, adolescents, and adults, helping clients navigate emotional challenges and build lasting resilience. With specialized experience in anxiety, depression, trauma, and adjustment-related concerns, I am dedicated to supporting individuals and families seeking greater emotional balance, healthier coping skills, and meaningful personal growth. I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Attachment-Based Therapy, and expressive modalities such as play and art-based techniques. Using a person-centered, strengths-oriented framework, I tailor treatment to each client’s developmental stage and unique needs—creating a supportive, nonjudgmental space for all.
College is a time of real growth — and real pressure. For many students, it's also when questions about identity, mental health, and how they move through the world come into sharper focus. I work with college students who are navigating anxiety, depression, burnout, identity exploration, trauma history, or the particular exhaustion that comes with being neurodivergent in demanding academic environments. Many of the young adults I work with are autistic, ADHD, or both — and are often doing so without the scaffolding that got them through high school. Others are transgender or gender-diverse, and are figuring out who they are while managing minority stress, family dynamics, and systems that don't always make things easy. My approach is relational and collaborative. I don't follow a rigid protocol — I draw from ACT, DBT, and CBT, and I tailor what we do to who you are and what you actually need. Sessions are a place to build insight, develop real skills, and figure out how to live more fully as yourself. I'm a licensed clinical psychologist with advanced training in gender-diverse care, trauma, and neurodevelopment. Before opening my practice, I spent two years at Yale's Pediatric Gender Program and completed my doctoral internship at Yale School of Medicine. I keep my caseload focused so I can do this work with the depth it deserves. Sessions are available via telehealth across Connecticut and New York, and in person in Southington, CT — which may be convenient for students at nearby colleges and universities. I also see adolescents and teens, so referrals for younger clients are welcome. I'm happy to connect with counseling center staff to discuss fit, coordination of care, or consultation. The best way to reach me is through my website or by phone.
At Kerith Brook Counseling, we support students who are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, burned out, or unsure about their next steps. College and graduate life can bring pressure, relationship stress, family conflict, grief, or questions about identity and purpose. You don’t have to navigate that alone. We offer a safe, welcoming space where you can talk openly, feel heard, and work through what’s weighing on you. If you’re carrying more than you can manage on your own, therapy is a place to slow down, gain clarity, and build healthier ways to cope and move forward.
