Hello! If you are reading this, you have already taken a big and not easy step towards caring for your mental health by seeking support. Whether it is with myself or another practitioner, I hope you find a therapist who is a great fit for you on your journey. More than ever, our society places high demands and expectations which can be overwhelming to our emotional mental health. Utilizing psychodynamic theories, cognitive behavioral and mindfulness techniques, I seek to help navigate these pressures. I have had the pleasure of providing services at Connecticut Children's Medical Center, in a private practice, as well as other outpatient and inpatient settings. My goal is always to create a therapeutic alliance with my clients, one which is built on trust and a non-judgmental working relationship. I understand that everyone who is seeking counseling services comes from different backgrounds, life circumstances and experiences which must be honored. I seek to foster an environment that is a safe and welcoming, a place where one can begin to build the best path forward.

I bring all of me into my work. I am present, direct and transparent. My consistent goal in each session is to help you build your toolbox with creative multi-sensory techniques, so that you can create impact and change in your relationships. I can help you heal your wounds and be more present, authentic and connected in all of your relationships, including the relationship with yourself! Which........ is the most important one, as we become more aware of how we operate, the roles we bring from our childhood, the patterns we witnessed from our parents and the defense mechanisms and scripts we created to adapt and cope with life, the more mindfully we impact all of our relationships. I strive to engage your eyes, ears, body and brain. I call it a 3-D approach to counseling, which is an active, multi sensory approach incorporating the talking, visual props, and kinesthetic (doing and experiencing) aspects of learning and change. Yes this visual aspect is used in telehealth sessions too. I often assign tasks between sessions to begin the process of practicing what you learn in sessions, such as reading a relevant book, watching videos or keeping records to track certain behaviors. Often you will have a visual picture from the session to get you to think from a different perspective. Learning and change takes practice so it is important to process what has been discussed and integrate it into your daily life. For therapy to be most effective you must be an active participant, both during and between the sessions. Being in practice for over 20 years, I have heard it all! I CAN HOLD IT ALL! This 3-D approach allows therapy to be a more active, interesting, motivational and rewarding journey for BOTH you and me. I enjoy and value the work we do together to rewrite the narrative of your stories and witness your growth.

No matter what stage of life, my goal is to explore and process a wide variety of concerns such as trauma, stress, depression, anxiety, life transitions, education/career, and interpersonal issues. I am passionate about providing a supportive environment for all individuals, including individuals who identify as being part of the LGBTQ+ community and other marginalized communities. I believe that all people have the capacity to learn and grow into the best possible version of themselves. While this can be colored by our communities and our individual experiences, we ultimately get to decide what that person looks like. My role as a counselor is to collaborate with my clients to provide a safe, genuine, and comfortable environment.

I work within a strength-based, supportive, non judgmental framework.
You put on a brave face for others saying, "I'm fine", suffer in silence and hope time will make things better. The only emotions that can hurt you are the ones you don't acknowledge. Unanticipated life events, relationship struggles, grief or things you "just cannot identify" cause you to feel anxious, isolated, angry, frightened, disconnected or unworthy. You are simply human, like the rest of us, wanting to feel relaxed, connected, engaged, inspired, confident and valued. I invite you to make the self-supporting gesture of contacting me so we can collaborate, and you can obtain the support you desire. In a constantly changing and fast-paced world how do you define, obtain and maintain a sense of balance, clarity and overall well-being, as you continually strive to meet your physical, emotional, mental health, relational, spiritual, educational, career and financial needs and goals? Clear Life Counseling is about engaging and inspiring you to engage and inspire yourself to identify and focus on what is meaningful to you. I am passionate about the attainable therapeutic benefits that you may realize from engaging in a collaborative, compassionate, non-judgmental counseling experience. If you appreciate compassion, insight, collaboration, humor, responsiveness, and a comfortable setting, you will find our work together rewarding and motivating. Let's connect. Call or Email (identifying the BEST times to reach you) and I will get back to you within 24 hours, perhaps sooner! "Telehealth Services are Available". Wishing you Wellness...
