Dr. Rachel Doyle
College is a time of real growth — and real pressure. For many students, it's also when questions about identity, mental health, and how they move through the world come into sharper focus.
I work with college students who are navigating anxiety, depression, burnout, identity exploration, trauma history, or the particular exhaustion that comes with being neurodivergent in demanding academic environments. Many of the young adults I work with are autistic, ADHD, or both — and are often doing so without the scaffolding that got them through high school. Others are transgender or gender-diverse, and are figuring out who they are while managing minority stress, family dynamics, and systems that don't always make things easy.
My approach is relational and collaborative. I don't follow a rigid protocol — I draw from ACT, DBT, and CBT, and I tailor what we do to who you are and what you actually need. Sessions are a place to build insight, develop real skills, and figure out how to live more fully as yourself.
I'm a licensed clinical psychologist with advanced training in gender-diverse care, trauma, and neurodevelopment. Before opening my practice, I spent two years at Yale's Pediatric Gender Program and completed my doctoral internship at Yale School of Medicine. I keep my caseload focused so I can do this work with the depth it deserves.
Sessions are available via telehealth across Connecticut and New York, and in person in Southington, CT — which may be convenient for students at nearby colleges and universities. I also see adolescents and teens, so referrals for younger clients are welcome.
I'm happy to connect with counseling center staff to discuss fit, coordination of care, or consultation. The best way to reach me is through my website or by phone.
