If you find it difficult to make the initial leap into therapy, I'd like to help. Schedule a consultation with me today. Countless men, women, and children are struggling in silence in our communities. I offer down-to-earth counseling, aimed at increasing the tools and resources that people have to overcome issues ranging from trauma and PTSD, depression, anxiety, divorce, marital conflict, addiction issues, social isolation, suicidal ideation, and lack of care and services. As a clinician, I empathize with those in our community, from homeless families to professionals trying to get the most out of their careers. I will sit shoulder-to-shoulder with you and identify areas for growth in your life and barriers to your success, and then co-create solutions with you that you can implement to rise to your full potential.

I am currently a licensed Counselor in Montana specializing in mental health issues along with issues dealing with substance abuse and addictions. I have a private practice where I offer services to adults, adolescents, children, and families. I also work as a clinical director in a Department of Corrections setting providing substance abuse and mental health treatment for individuals with Felony DUI's. My expertise is in working with depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and also in helping children deal with trauma. Living in rural Montana, I enjoy working with a wide variety of clients with various mental health concerns. My counseling style is eclectic in nature. I begin by getting to know my client and what will work best for them. The most frequent orientations that I utilize include cognitive-behavioral therapy, person centered, family systems, and mindfulness. I use an eclectic array of techniques that will be determined with the client and then utilized to develop a treatment plan unique to the client's concerns. Counseling is a process that can be very beneficial to help address various aspects of a person's life. I look forward to building a therapeutic relationship where we can work together to meet your needs.

Finding the right therapist can feel a bit like dating—you want someone who "gets" it without you having to explain every little thing. While every person I work with is unique, the students who tend to thrive in my practice often find themselves at a similar crossroads. If any of the following sounds familiar, we’ll likely work very well together: 1. The "High-Achiever" Burnout Many of my clients are experts at looking like they have it all together. On the outside, you’re hitting deadlines and showing up for friends; on the inside, you’re exhausted and constantly waiting for the other shoe to drop. We work best together if you're ready to peel back the pressure of perfectionism and find out who you are when you aren’t "performing." 2. The Weight of "What’s Next?" College and graduate school are massive transition periods. I work best with students who feel paralyzed by the sheer number of choices ahead—career paths, relationships, or moving away from home. If you feel like you’re supposed to have a "map" for your life but you're currently standing in a fog, I’m here to help you clear the air. 3. The "Identity Explorer" Many students I see are navigating a shift in how they see themselves. This might involve: Coming to terms with cultural or family expectations that don't align with your personal goals. Exploring your identity or orientation in a new environment. Managing the "imposter syndrome" that tells you that you don't belong in the room you worked so hard to get into. How We’ll Work Together I don't believe in "doctor-speak" or complicated clinical terms. Our sessions are a conversation. I’m not here to just nod and say "How does that make you feel?"—I’m here to: Validate your stress: Because "just being a student" is actually a full-time, high-pressure job. Identify patterns: Noticing those loops your brain gets stuck in (like late-night overthinking). Build a toolkit: Giving you actual, real-world ways to handle a panic attack before a midterm or a difficult conversation with a roommate. Bottom line: If you’re looking for a space where you can be messy, honest, and even use a bit of humor to get through the tough stuff, we’re going to get along great.

Now accepting new clients! Hi there, my aim is to cultivate a space that fosters authentic connection, healing and curiosity while honoring each person's unique needs and truth. I firmly believe that true healing begins with our relationship with ourselves and blossoms through connections with others. I recognize that life experiences, relationships, and systemic influences can sometimes lead to feeling like you have a lack of control. I wish to assist you in re-establishing a sense of self-autonomy and agency within your life. I predominantly draw upon trauma informed, somatic-based, and relational culturally based interventions. This approach allows me to use a holistic lens to help you deepen your understanding of your emotions and experiences within the broader systems that surround you. I have experiences working with individuals who have experienced domestic violence, trauma, managing life transitions, depression, anxiety, and racial identity exploration. I enjoy working with individuals who identify as multi-/bi-racial within the BIPOC community. I look forward to connecting!

Childhood trauma often times comes with a feeling of deep shame, which turns into a core belief that you are bad, undeserving and unworthy of anything good. Shame comes from an old German word meaning “to cover.” You hide your feelings, keeping them secret. Because—if they really knew who you were, they couldn’t love you. You spend your life trying so hard to cover up the bad so no one will see. In doing this you lose your authenticity, your truth, your dreams. You become someone you are not. You lose your light. Working through trauma is hard, it takes courage, dedication and patience, but it is worth it. You are worth it.

I work primarily with people from the teenage years through young adulthood, focusing on a range of mental health and relational struggle. More broadly, I focus on the development and deepening of personal identity and values. I believe that having a strong sense of who you are and what matters most in your life gives people a sense of direction through uncertainty, and provides strength in times of struggle. I also believe that even in hardship there is a place to find joy in life without minimizing the struggle. Without joy, suffering can weigh a person down into hopelessness. I seek to empower people with a deeper understanding of how the mind and relationships work, and to flow with the currents of life without being swept away by them. Your life is your journey, and I am happy to walk beside you for a time in your hardship to help you find the path forward. It is hard to know if a counselor is the right fit based just on a description. All of my initial meetings are free with no commitment to continue until we have met and you are sure my approach is the right one.

We are all a product of our stories— the good, the bad, and everything between. Many times, we aren’t aware of how rooted we are in past beliefs and relationship narratives or how deeply they’ve impacted our current choices and decisions. Therapy allows us to uncover the different sides of ourselves, to unlearn unhelpful beliefs and to emphasize positive ones. Together, we can create a collaborative environment that will help you gain a greater sense of self-awareness and self-esteem. I specialize in treating trauma, anxiety, and PTSD with a range of modalities including EMDR and IFS. Focused on college students and adults. My therapeutic approach has been described as warm, positive, and creative. My intuitive and down-to-earth approach paired with my clinical expertise will create a foundation for you to feel safe and seen, listened to and understood. We’ll work together to get you on a path toward renewal and the understanding of self. Therapy is not a “one size fits all” approach. I get to know each of my clients individually to devise a plan that will best work for them. Currently, I am located in Bozeman, Montana and am dually licensed in Montana and Colorado and see individuals via telehealth. I look forward to connecting with you!
