Hi! I’m Jada Thompson, a Licensed Couple and Family Therapist. I am a proud second-generation Mexican American, born and raised in the Big Sky State of Montana. I moved to the Los Angeles area over ten years ago to feed my sense of exploration and reconnect with my family, culture, and self. My early life experiences, including the sudden death of my mother during childhood, have shaped me into the person I am today and fueled my drive to pursue a career in mental health. I graduated from Alliant International University in Los Angeles with a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. While working in community mental health, I continued to grow in my work with children, adolescents, adults, and families. I offer individuals a compassionate space to explore identity, relationships, and life transitions with curiosity and respect. Whether facing cultural or religious trauma, rejection, or the pain of not feeling fully seen, we work together to uncover the roots of struggle and build tools for greater freedom, resilience, and fulfillment in the present.

Therapy doesn’t require a “good reason” to start. Maybe you are overwhelmed, anxious, exhausted, struggling in relationships, carrying trauma, or just feeling unlike yourself lately. Maybe you are the person who keeps functioning and getting things done while quietly holding a lot underneath. I offer a warm, down-to-earth, trauma-informed space where you don’t have to perform, explain everything perfectly, or have it all figured out. I believe healing happens through safe and supportive relationships, and therapy should feel collaborative and genuine. I work especially well with students and adults navigating trauma, identity-based harm, relationship difficulties, anxiety, burnout, self-esteem issues, and life transitions.

As a psychologist, I offer psychotherapy to individuals experiencing a range of issues impacting their well-being, relationships, and functioning. I believe therapy ultimately involves a collaborative relationship between the therapist and client, which can provide healing, insight, and desired change. I endeavor to help my clients understand and work through 1) the contributing factors to their problems, 2) patterns of thinking, feeling, and relating (consciously or unconsciously) that are maintaining distress, 3) potential barriers to change that may be present in their life, and 4) possible corrective steps to take to bring change and relief. Life circumstances, mistreatment we experience, and our own regrettable behaviors can shape patterns in life that leave us feeling stuck, hopeless, and frustrated. However, there is hope! Therapy can give you the tools needed to orient your life around your values, needs, and loves, rather than your fears, resentments, and past experiences. When we face what is hard, we learn to be brave. In addition, within ourselves is the capacity to be bigger than our unpleasant feelings and experiences. You are capable, and I look forward to supporting you in your journey of healing and growth.

My perspective involves connecting our minds, bodies, and emotions to increase awareness towards areas of our lives where we may feel stuck, in conflict, overwhelmed, or shut off. I believe that when we can more clearly see these patterns and responses, we develop a deeper self-awareness and a sense that we have more control than we may realize. With this knowledge, my hope is to support you in feeling more connected, compassionate, and accepting towards all parts of yourself. Some of my experience includes working with individuals who have experienced trauma, domestic violence, sexual assault/abuse, relationship difficulties, depression, anxiety, and managing difficult life transitions. I also incorporate exploration of cultural identity/context and I work with all identities. While in the counseling room, you can expect me to support you in finding more clarity in your story, deepening your understanding of your emotions, and exploring why our bodies respond in the way they do to traumatic events and difficult experiences. Building a trusting, authentic, and genuine counseling relationship is my priority.

Hi! I'm Virginia (she/hers). I work exclusively with college-aged and young adults, focusing on identity, attachment, and trauma recovery. My specialities are adoption, from the perspective of an adoptee, and LGBTQ2S+ affirming therapy. As young adults, we experience a lot of transition, self-doubt, anxiety, independence from our family system, and a desire to evolve our coping strategies. I love exploring identity; working with you to integrate all the parts of your authentic self into a feeling of being fully "you" every day. I work with adoptees, blending my perspective as an adopted person with my clinical background in neurobiological and attachment science, to assist you in unpacking the fog, preverbal trauma, identity and strengthening your sense of self, the duality of adoptive & biological families, and understanding adoption-specific trauma responses. How we view ourselves (and the lens we may have learned to look through in early experiences) determines how we interact with others, who we choose to partner with, and what interests we pursue in career development. I work on relational/response patterns you feel stuck in, building trust and confidence in your own decision-making, resolving sources of stress and anxiety, and I'm just generally dedicated to *raising up your self-worth*. My therapeutic focus is integrative and trauma-informed -- I understand that traditional models of counseling aren't helpful or affirming to every client. I draw on attachment, ACEs, internal family systems, neuroscience, but mainly, I center my client's lived experience. My clinical background includes LGBTQ+ resource centers, community mental health, nature-based retreats, and I am dedicate to ongoing advocacy work, alongside community organizations and national legal rights activists for young LGBTQ2S+ and adopted adults. I currently have morning and afternoon openings to work with your class and work schedules. I mainly offer virtual sessions ongoing, but also have a downtown office on Main St for those who prefer in-person work. Please contact me via email or visit the booking page on my website to schedule a free consultation!

I work with people who want to step out of their heads and really connect with their bodies. Together, we notice triggers, explore patterns, and practice tuning the nervous system before stress or panic takes over. I guide clients to listen to what their bodies are trying to tell them, build self-awareness, strengthen resilience, and cultivate a grounded, present sense of calm with the goal of moving through life with more ease, clarity, and confidence while honoring their unique experiences.

(Accepting new clients). Sometimes we reach a point in our lives that feels so challenging, we aren’t sure how to move forward. Maybe you are grieving the loss of a loved one, working through a stressful transition, or struggling to connect in relationships. Maybe you can't point to anything specific that's happening in your life, but you've realized that just getting through the day feels like a challenge. Finding your way here is the first step to creating something different for yourself. I work primarily with older teens, college students, and young adults who are struggling with anxiety, depression, chronic illness, eating disorders, self-esteem issues, and life transitions. My approach to therapy is grounded in the belief that deeper self-awareness and self-acceptance allows us to create movement in our lives. By learning to trust ourselves, we can create change. My intention is to help you know and trust yourself more deeply, so that you may feel empowered in your life and relationships. I recognize that choosing to dive into this journey may mean taking a leap of faith. I've been there myself, and I work intentionally to create an environment where you can feel supported and safe. Reach out by phone or email for a free 15-minute consultation.
