The individuals who feel drawn to work with me are often deep feelers and wonderers. They've maybe been the truth-teller in a family system or relationship, or they may have borne the weight of not being able to tell the truth. They're sometimes folks who've started to wonder if the ways they've dealt with pain aren't working so well now. They're looking to feel seen, heard, and understood, just as they are. I hope to create that space with you!

Thanks for finding my page! I'm admired by your courage to take this next step. I typically work with young adults and college students experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship issues, questioning where their life is headed, etc. Whatever it is, I'm here for you. While my approach depends greatly on what's going on in your world, I typically utilize aspects of CBT, mindfulness, and psychodynamic theory in my work. I am also an MSPE (Mindful Sport Performance Enhancement) trained instructor and enjoy working with athletes. I'm currently being trained in EMDR by the Center for Excellence in EMDR Therapy, and trained in DBT as well. Outside of my work as a psychotherapist, I work as an adjunct professor at George Mason University in their School of Social Work, and previously coached soccer for seven years. Please feel free to reach out for a free phone consultation - I look forward to working with you!

Practicing through UpLift Mental Health services. Providing support for stress, anxiety, depression through empathy, understanding and tools to utilize for better coping. My main modalities of treatment are mindfulness, CBT and solution focused therapy. With these I have seen growth and stability with my clients. We all have the capability to use tools for good mental health. We just need someone to help us discover and utilize them. I have found from personal experience that when you have a purpose in life you can achieve anything you put your mind to. My counseling style is pretty laid back. I have been described as supportive, caring, and compassionate, with a pretty good sense of humor. I like to focus on identifying strengths to build confidence in the therapeutic process.

Do you have anger, depression, anxiety, stress or something close to this that you feel you need to talk about? Are you going through a divorce, a remarriage, or having problems with your sexual life? Is something new and big happening in your life that you need help coping with or understanding? Or do you just feel like you need to talk to someone, and would like a safe environment and a listening ear to do so? Everyone needs a little help at some point in their life, and even as adults, it is more than alright to ask for it. The only issue, then, is who to go to for that help? We all have something we struggle with, but it does not have to ruin us. Overwhelming feelings, thoughts, and overanalyzing can leave you feeling resentful, anxious, stressed, and at times, defeated. Together we can help to improve your mood, change a behavior, or better navigate your emotions. I'm here to help make those goals a reality. Charlie Health is a virtual behavioral health program for adolescents and young adults with moderate or severe mental health concerns or co-occurring substance use or eating disorders. Designed to meet the needs of those who require more than weekly therapy, our program combines curated group therapy, individual therapy, and family therapy into personalized treatment programs. We are helping to serve those who are in crisis, or have been historically underserved, by eliminating the most significant treatment barriers: geographical and financial access. We work with nearly all commercial insurance nationwide and have no waitlist, thereby helping people access quality, evidence-based care regardless of insurance, location, or other barriers.
I have experience working with individuals struggling with eating disorders, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and interpersonal relationship issues. In working with these individuals, I have learned that everyone has some issue or challenge that they are going through. In seeking counseling for that challenge, there is already strength and a desire for peace and contentment. Through the work, I hope to help my clients gain strength, clarity, and overall wellness.
