My goal as a therapist is to work with my clients to help them use their natural strengths and abilities to move past their challenges. I believe that most people already possess the natural abilities and talents to move past mental health or sleep challenges, but might need some coaching or occasional suggestions in order to do so. I utilize therapeutic methods that have been rigorously researched and studied. I have extensive experience working with adults who are experiencing anxiety, depression, insomnia, and trauma.

I've worked with a number of college clients who have struggled with anxiety, depression, social anxiety, adjusting, perfectionism, relationship issues, and stress. I offer psychological testing and therapy. I currently practice as a Pre-Doctoral Intern under the supervision of Dr. Meghan Fox and associated clinical faculty. I'm committed to providing a trusting, supportive and non-judgmental space for my clients to explore their inner world and make lasting change. Clients often tell me they feel comfortable sharing anything with me. That’s not by accident. I’ve spent decades building the trust, insight, and experience that helps clients uncover blind spots, reframe challenges, and create meaningful growth. I primarily draw on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Motivational Interviewing to help my clients. I also integrate mindfulness and somatic practices. I am a doctoral candidate in Clinical Psychology from California Southern University. I earned a Master of Science in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Binghamton University. My background includes being a Fortune 500 Chief Human Resources Officer, CEO and Master Trainer for retired Navy SEAL Commander Mark Divine’s Unbeatable Mind and SEALFIT companies, a consultant specializing in culture and organizational development, and an Executive Coach. I am certified in Yoga, Meditation, Breathwork, and Ericksonian Hypnosis. I've traveled extensively and worked with people in 36 countries.
Hi, I'm Sean. I'm passionate about helping clients overcome struggles related to anxiety, OCD, life transitions, and identity development. In therapy, we will work collaboratively to identify your goals and create a plan to develop strategies to manage life challenges. In doing so, my goal is to create opportunities for you to come to know yourself more fully, to provide tools for you to connect with others more deeply, and to empower you to live a life more in line with your personal values. I am trained in providing CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), ERP (Exposure & Response Prevention), and Psychodynamic Therapy. I often work using an integrated approach that emphasizes treating the whole person and incorporate elements of multiple modalities to meet your individual needs and goals. Change can be both terrifying and extremely powerful. I value meeting new clients where they are at in their journey, and working as a team to accomplish important goals. Whatever you're struggling with, I'm not here to save or cure you. What I can offer is support, companionship, guidance, and practical tips as you engage the simple and difficult process of dressing wounds, remembering how to draw in nourishment, and reorienting toward your own ‘true north.’ The long-term goal of this work is not to help you become more 'well-adjusted,' but more fully yourself in a world that often makes that difficult. It may be hard to hear, but that deep-in-your-bones longing really matters. You may have forgotten it, ridiculed it, buried it for any number of very sensible reasons; but I assure you it is waiting patiently for your return. That longing, that certain something that you can't seem to find anywhere? That is yours to grow into. And I would propose that that becoming, that filling in of the larger You, is essential not only to your own sanity, but to the health of all Life. In that spirit I may challenge you to look at the ways that you are evading the responsibility of becoming. But believe me, I evade too. I will regard you with tenderness and understanding even as I ask you to do the terrifying – trust yourself a little more. Fill your form. I hold a master's degree in mindfulness-based transpersonal clinical mental health counseling from Naropa University, and am licensed to practice professional counseling in New York and Colorado.

I am a Postdoctoral psychologist who works with individuals that are hoping to improve their relationship with themselves and with others. I have experience working with adults across the lifespan experiencing a variety of difficulties. My area of specialty is with clients who have a history of disordered eating patterns, as well as a history of trauma. In therapy I encourage clients to be curious about their experiences, and my hope is that together we will deepen our understanding of how your past may be currently impacting your present. My approach with clients is warm, direct, and collaborative. I believe personal change occurs best when we notice how our experiences show up for us mentally and physically, so my work often involves active use of the mind-body connection. I use an integrated trauma-informed approach to treatment, which may include the use of somatic internal family systems, relational, psychodynamic, humanistic, feminist therapy and I incorporate techniques from CBT and DBT when appropriate. I provide embodied centered therapy for people struggling in their relationship with food, all with the goal for clients to foster awareness of self, connection with others, and to reconnect to their capacity for full-bodied engagement with the world. Additionally, I offer comprehensive psychological assessments that include both cognitive and personality assessment tools. These assessments are best suited for individuals who are wondering if they may have ADHD and can help to clarify any other mental health diagnostic questions. The results will be provided to you via a written report, which can be used to further your treatment or to justify accommodations to support your needs. I currently am only seeing clients virtually. Please reach out to connect and see if we’d be a good fit. I look forward to meeting you!

Hello, I'm a mental health counselor licensed in the state of NY. I have worked in community mental health since 2015 in both clinic and primary care medical settings. My clients have presented a wide range of concerns, including: depression, anxiety, OCD, grief, substance abuse, capitalism, fascism, and adjustment to life after incarceration. Regardless of what issues bring you to therapy, I work from the assumption that YOU are not the problem. Rather, the situation is the problem, and we work together to transform it. This process often involves shifting your view, giving yourself grace, and deepening compassion for yourself. Before graduate school, I was a community organizer and activist addressing issues of social, ecological, and economic concern; my undergraduate degrees are in Community Health and Peace and Justice Studies. I often use a systems perspective to address problems, and I have experience working with trauma related to systemic harm and oppression. I strive to be supportive and curious in my role as a counselor. Working in this field means that I learn (and unlearn) every day. I am honored to walk alongside the people who invite me into their lives, and I do my best to offer honesty and compassion in a safe and respectful way. I value broad access to psychotherapy and gladly offer a sliding fee scale.
I work with young adults and college students on a range of issues that occur during the late teens and early 20s. Finding the right therapist is an important and thoughtful process. You want to find someone who ‘gets’ you, and who you can trust to be straightforward with you about your role in problems, and what steps you need to take. You want a person with solid credentials and experience, yet who is open, willing to listen, and who will consider a variety of treatment options with you. Clients have told me they appreciate my straightforwardness and compassion. I would characterize myself as contemplative and thoughtful, yet I am not the kind of therapist who will leave you ‘on the couch’ while I utter “mm-hmm”. I like to balance insight with concrete information and skills you can use to work between sessions. My goal is to foster respectful and collaborative partnerships with clients who are motivated to make changes in their lives. Being a psychologist has special meaning to me, and I care deeply about my work. I hope this offers helpful information as you search for your therapist, and would welcome you to contact me for a consultation.
