Therapists for college students near University of Montana
Stacy Fortner
Hi, I was born and raised in Montana, I've only been in Bozeman for a few years. I've worked in mental health for 22 years, practicing 6 years . I believe I can work with people to provide a supportive, validating, honest experience during Counseling. I feel that counseling is a process to help yourself and it takes some work. I enjoy helping people so they can work through whatever they choose to bring to counseling.

Have you been feeling disconnected from yourself or others lately? Exhausted from the many demands placed on you? Feeling unheard and needing a safe space to share your story and explore your emotions? I am so proud of you for taking this first brave step towards improving your wellbeing and I understand how daunting it can feel to reach out for help! I fully believe that all humans deserve a fulfilling, positive, and flourishing life and I would be honored to walk alongside and support you on your journey towards wellness. I am accepting new telehealth clients and have immediate openings! I am currently offering a free, 30-minute consultation video call! As a fellow neurodivergent and military spouse, I have a niche for working with these populations. I am also passionate about serving college students, those struggling with depression, anxiety, life transitions, trauma, and strained interpersonal relationships.
Confluence Mental Health
Grow in Connection, Trust & Sturdiness in Self: My hope is to join you in broadening the understanding of self and strengths. In doing so, building confidence, connection and tuning into the knowledge within you. Providing pause and opportunity to meet feelings, narratives, patterns and roles with curiosity and compassion. Building capacity for uncertainty and healthy coping as we learn and understand the context in which roles and reactions were shaped and cultivated, and how this self awareness can support choices aligned with your values moving forward. This approach accepts and honors where you are at as well as what you want to move towards, empowering self trust, wellbeing, and a meaningful path forward.

Starting counseling can be likened to setting off into the woods, unsure where the path leads but hoping to find clarity in the journey. The right counselor can help you navigate the brambles and find the path again when you lose your way. I enjoy working with young adults who are struggling on their path, whether from depression, trauma, loneliness, or simply the weight of life. I specialize in helping those who are highly self-critical or perfectionistic find freedom from their harsh inner voices. I am passionate about providing support based in Health at Every Size and anti-diet approaches to folks experiencing body image-related anxiety or insecurity. I am an LGBTQ+ and neurodiversity affirming counselor and love working with individuals who are exploring their identity and getting to know their authentic selves. I work with individuals from a mindfulness and self-compassion based framework. This means I can help you develop a kinder, more understanding and respectful relationship with yourself. You spend your entire life with yourself - you deserve to enjoy the company! One of the hardest things to do in our society is love ourselves, but I truly believe we can get there together. Reaching out to start counseling is not easy - I am happy to have an initial phone conversation with you to hear about what you're going through and connect. I look forward to hearing from you!

I help easily misunderstood people, whether introverted, shy, or inhibited—or—outwardly expressive, gregarious, or impulsive, figure out how to wield their unique strengths, get out of their own way, connect with others, and thrive. This can include: - deep thinkers lodged in cycles of anxiety and depression - sensitive hearts overwhelmed by the intensity of experiences or relationships - outside-the-box or neurodivergent people searching to feel understood, connected, or successful
