Hi there! I am a warm, creative and down-to-earth therapist who loves to help young adults navigate the often confusing and overwhelming experiences of college life, including issues related to academics, interpersonal relationships, gender identity, healthy sexuality, depression, and anxiety. (Not a complete list, by any means, but you get the drift!) If you are struggling with feelings of isolation and are having difficulty keeping up with your coursework, I can help you figure out how to navigate, starting from exactly where you are right now! I will provide a supportive ear and common-sense, actionable strategies to help you feel better. I am licensed to work with folks in South Carolina and Massachusetts, all via telehealth. I'm here when you're ready!

At Hive Health, we believe healing is not one‑size‑fits‑all. Whether you’re a medical student carrying the weight of burnout, a young adult navigating life transitions, or a teen exploring your identity, you deserve care that sees the whole you. Like a hive, our well‑being is interconnected. When one part struggles, the whole system feels it. That’s why our approach is trauma‑informed, holistic, and culturally humble, addressing not just symptoms, but the deeper roots of stress, anxiety, depression, and burnout.

Hi! My name is Katie Kalina, a licensed independent clinician with over 6 years of experience. I believe that everyone deserves to be heard and healed, and that as your therapist, it's my job to meet you exactly where you're at. One of my specialties is EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). This is a psychotherapy that enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences. Eye movement (or other bilateral stimulation) is used to work on one memory at a time for the mind to heal. I have worked with individuals and groups of all ages, from children to teens and adults through anxiety, depression, sexual abuse, emotional abuse, body image issues, relationship issues, and anger management. As your therapist, I will make it my mission to make you feel at home in our sessions. Once we meet, I will help you set goals and devise a plan that will make you transform in the ways that you wish to. Looking forward to completing this journey with you and bringing you ongoing success. Hi and welcome! My name is Rhonda Matlack and I have been a Licensed Counselor since 1998. Counseling historically has been something that society has been ashamed of hence many people have suffered needlessly due to lack of support. I'm here to tell you that seeking support and moving toward emotional wellness is deserving of every individual from any walk of life. It is my philosophy that those who reach out for heIp, those that take the risk to be better, those that face their fears will have a sustainable life pattern of coping that leads to wellness. We are all made unique, each one of us is made to serve and benefit in this life with a purpose. Last, I believe healthcare should be made affordable to all, therefore I have a very low sliding scale to offer folks. Get in touch to learn more.

If you're someone who feels better after talking things through—those who find relief in external processing and venting—you're in the right place. Many of my clients come to me because they feel the need to keep their feelings and thoughts bottled up around friends and family, out of fear of judgment or being a burden. I provide a safe, non-judgmental space where you can express yourself freely. My approach is laid-back and conversational. I’m here to listen, ask questions, and engage in real, down-to-earth discussions. Humor and genuine interactions are part of how I create a comfortable space for you to explore your thoughts and emotions. I work with individuals who are dealing with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, school/career stress, or communication challenges with family members. Clients often tell me that our work together helps them better regulate their emotions, respond to challenges with greater ease, set healthier boundaries, and improve their self-esteem. My therapeutic style is collaborative and non-judgmental, focusing on creating a space where you feel supported and understood. Reach out to see if we may be a good fit!

College can feel like a constant balancing act between expectations, relationships, and the pressure to have it all figured out. I specialize in working with high-achieving individuals who look successful on the outside but privately struggle with anxiety, perfectionism, and self-doubt. Many of my clients are insightful and self-aware–they know why they feel the way they do, but that insight alone hasn’t been enough to shift how they feel. My approach focuses on helping you reconnect with your emotional experiences as valuable sources of information, not something to fix or avoid. Together, we’ll explore what’s beneath the overthinking so you can feel more grounded, confident, and emotionally resilient. Clients describe me as warm, thoughtful, and collaborative. I create a space where you can feel both deeply supported and gently challenged. If this resonates, I’d love to connect for a free consultation.

I have over 25 years experience working with teenagers and adults. I understand the social, behavioral, and academic challenges clients face, not only with the pandemic, but with social media, peer pressure, self-esteem, eating disorders, relationships, decision making, substance use, suicidal thoughts, and self-harm. I provide cognitive behavior therapy, which is to help clients understand why they are thinking and behaving the way they are and to help them understand that in order to change for the long term, they need to first understand what is causing the problem. I help clients develop coping skills and self-care strategies for in the moment and every day use.

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a deep passion for working with young adults. I believe the early adult years are some of the most important—and often most misunderstood—seasons of life. Rather than something to simply “get through,” I view this stage as a powerful period of identity formation, growth, and possibility. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. After spending a year living abroad, I went on to receive her Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from Northeastern University. Throughout my graduate training and post-master’s clinical work, I have supported youth and families across a range of settings, including in-home therapy, group home care, outpatient clinics, and municipal mental health. I understand that young adulthood can feel overwhelming—whether it’s anxiety, relationships, school, or simply trying to figure things out. Therapy with me is a place to slow things down and make sense of what’s going on. Sessions feel like a real conversation, where clients can explore their experiences, connect patterns, and develop strategies that are actually useful in everyday life. My goal is to create a space where clients feel comfortable, understood, and supported as they navigate this stage.

I am a board-certified adult psychiatrist, and I feel privileged to help those struggling with mental health issues. I understand that there is still a stigma surrounding mental health, and I strive to ensure my patients feel understood during our appointments. Building rapport and getting to know my patients beyond just their diagnoses is central to my approach to care. I have experience treating patients in various settings, including outpatient clinics, inpatient psychiatric hospitals, emergency departments, and medical hospitals. I believe that the best outcomes usually occur when medications and therapy are used together. While I enjoy treating all psychiatric illnesses, I have a particular affinity for personality disorders and substance use disorders. I also have experience addressing mental health issues during and after pregnancy. I completed my undergraduate degree in Biomedical Biology at Laurentian University, followed by medical training at Ross University School of Medicine. I then completed my psychiatry residency, serving as chief resident, at the University of North Dakota in Fargo.
