With the many transitions that life brings can come many challenges. It can be difficult to navigate these challenges alone and reaching out for support is a significant step in working towards healing. My goal is to help you navigate your healing journey using compassion, empathy, creativity, and humor. I have worked in a variety of settings including the department of corrections, psychiatric inpatient hospitals, and in an after school setting. Throughout experience I have worked with many different clients including individuals experiencing challenges related to depression, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, grief, work stress, career transitions, spirituality, and family life. I approach my work with the mindset that the client is the expert in their treatment. In my work I utilize Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Mindfulness Based Interventions. I aim to provide a welcoming, supportive, inclusive, and judgement free space for you to process any struggles and work towards your goals. I recognize that each person’s path to healing is unique and during our time together we will discover which approach is ideal for you. Life can bring on so much heartache and struggles that can make us feel lost. Through self-exploration we can work towards transforming into a more healed self. Clients interested in working together can reach out to me at rickele@humboldtparkcounseling.com or at 312-880-7671 for more information. All inquires are welcome.

I am a seasoned clinical psychologist who is passionate about helping others be happier and live a better life . I work with individuals and couples at my practice in downtown Evansville. I have been in private practice for over 5 years after earning my PsyD from Yeshiva University in New York City. I incorporate a variety of techniques depending on my client's individual needs. These include DBT skills, mindfulness based interventions, and trauma informed treatment. I am committed to working with culturally diverse people from every walk of life and strive to create an open and affirmative space for all. I particularly enjoy working with young adults, adults, and youths. We each come to therapy searching for things to change, understanding, and symptoms relief. During our initial session, you can expect me to take time to get to know you, and provide feedback that you can apply to yourself and others in everyday interactions. We will look at your thoughts, feelings, and reactions that arise in therapy in order to work directly in the present moment. Whether you're looking extra support during a challenging situation, or you simply want to change direction in your life, I look forward to us establishing a collaborative relationship, It is important to understand that you will get more results from therapy if you actively participate in the process. The ultimate purpose of therapy is to help you bring what you learn in session back into your life. Therefore, beyond the work you do in therapy sessions, your therapist may suggest some things you can do outside of therapy to support your process - such as reading a pertinent book, journaling on specific topics, noting particular behaviors or taking action on your goals. People seeking psychotherapy are ready to make positive changes in their lives, are open to new perspectives and take responsibility for their lives. Do you take insurance, and how does that work? To determine if you have mental health coverage through your insurance carrier, the first thing you should do is call them. Check your coverage carefully and make sure you understand their answers. Some helpful questions you can ask them: *What are my mental health benefits? *What is the coverage amount per therapy session? *How many therapy sessions does my plan cover? *How much does my insurance pay for an out-of-network provider? *Is approval required from my primary care physician? In-Network Insurance Plans: Anthem, Optum, United Health Care, Atnea, New Direction, etc. Please check with your insurance carrier to know if I am a provider. Often a single case agreement can be made with your insurance and I can apply to become a provider for your insurance. At Relational Wellness Therapy, we love working with students who are trying to make sense of life’s in-between seasons. Maybe you’re juggling classes, relationships, and figuring out who you’re becoming, and it’s starting to feel like a lot. You don’t have to have it all together to show up here. Our student clients often share a common goal: they want to feel grounded, more confident in their choices, and at peace with who they are. We help you slow down, understand what’s really going on underneath the stress, and find tools that actually fit your life. Therapy with us isn’t about perfection. It’s about helping you feel seen, supported, and more like yourself.
