Great to meet you! I am a passionate psychotherapist who sees it as a privilege to partner with clients along their journey towards healing and improved wellbeing. My experience extends from working with adults, adolescents, and families in out-patient, intensive in-patient, and educational settings. **Please email me at jenchurchillcounseling@gmail.com for appointment availability** A bit about my approach to therapy: I bring an exceptional level of care and commitment to my clients using a culturally responsive and trauma informed approach and utilize a variety of evidence-based treatment modalities. I also often weave my background as a yoga and mindfulness educator into my practice to help you build insight, improve communication, and solidify coping skills to manage life's stressors. What you can expect from our first session: I vow to stay curious and kind in my work with you as I see each client as the expert on their life experience. As your therapist, is my job to be a guide and a cheerleader in the direction that you choose to take. Please reach out to me if you are interested in working together!
Greetings! I am honored to work with individuals or families seeking positive change. I take a wholeness approach to wellness: mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual. The work we do inside the therapy hour is integrated between sessions with intentional changes that accelerates progress toward wellness goals. I find that working with college students is a time of deep reflection and forward growth in their life. This can also presents challenges such as conflicting thoughts and feelings, an increased need for external supports, or desire for a safe place to land while exploring what continues to work well and what no longer serves a healthy purpose. If this sounds like the thing you are looking for, please reach out for my most current availability!
We all experience loss at varying levels of severity. This part of life is often left unexplored. Have you reached a point where your life experiences are leaving you feeling tangIed emotionally creating pain and confusion? Therapy with me will help you untangle your feelings so you can discover clarity and balance with the losses and joys of life. Your strengths will guide us on your path of discovery. My commitment to you is to provide therapy rooted in empathy, compassion, and non-judgment. We will create a safe and supportive environment together where you feel comfortable exploring your thoughts and feelings in order to heal. My practice supports all humans with the vast spectrum of emotional wellness. You will find just having someone to listen to you as you share the experiences of your life will be healing. Then we process together how those experiences impact your thoughts and decisions and work to reduce the emotional response of those experiences so you feel in balance. I know the choice to seek therapy feels like a giant leap. I would encourage you to focus on this thought: to be vulnerable is the first agreement you must make with your self as you begin therapy. Once you agree to that, the rest will be a positive and life changing experience that will help you in so many ways!. You're not alone! I'm with you!
I am a seasoned clinical psychologist who is passionate about helping others be happier and live a better life . I work with individuals and couples at my practice in downtown Evansville. I have been in private practice for over 5 years after earning my PsyD from Yeshiva University in New York City. I incorporate a variety of techniques depending on my client's individual needs. These include DBT skills, mindfulness based interventions, and trauma informed treatment. I am committed to working with culturally diverse people from every walk of life and strive to create an open and affirmative space for all. I particularly enjoy working with young adults, adults, and youths. We each come to therapy searching for things to change, understanding, and symptoms relief. During our initial session, you can expect me to take time to get to know you, and provide feedback that you can apply to yourself and others in everyday interactions. We will look at your thoughts, feelings, and reactions that arise in therapy in order to work directly in the present moment. Whether you're looking extra support during a challenging situation, or you simply want to change direction in your life, I look forward to us establishing a collaborative relationship, It is important to understand that you will get more results from therapy if you actively participate in the process. The ultimate purpose of therapy is to help you bring what you learn in session back into your life. Therefore, beyond the work you do in therapy sessions, your therapist may suggest some things you can do outside of therapy to support your process - such as reading a pertinent book, journaling on specific topics, noting particular behaviors or taking action on your goals. People seeking psychotherapy are ready to make positive changes in their lives, are open to new perspectives and take responsibility for their lives. Do you take insurance, and how does that work? To determine if you have mental health coverage through your insurance carrier, the first thing you should do is call them. Check your coverage carefully and make sure you understand their answers. Some helpful questions you can ask them: *What are my mental health benefits? *What is the coverage amount per therapy session? *How many therapy sessions does my plan cover? *How much does my insurance pay for an out-of-network provider? *Is approval required from my primary care physician? In-Network Insurance Plans: Anthem, Optum, United Health Care, Atnea, New Direction, etc. Please check with your insurance carrier to know if I am a provider. Often a single case agreement can be made with your insurance and I can apply to become a provider for your insurance. I specialize in working with "high achievers." Many of my clients are accomplished problem solvers but they find themselves stuck, frustrated, dissatisfied, distressed, or disconnected and they aren't getting getting where they want to go. I use a relational framework to help them develop a deeper understanding of the issue(s) and work from there to support them as they learn, grow, and discover sustainable and meaningful solutions to the challenges they are facing. This is hard work, but if you are up for the challenge it can also be some of the most meaningful work you'll ever do!
Congratulations on taking this big step in your mental health journey - seeking therapy. Whether you are struggling with sadness, worry, work/school-related stress, substance use issues, relationship difficulties, or emotions resulting from traumatic experience(s), I offer a supportive ear and a nonjudgmental environment in which we can work together to identify and implement strategies to move you toward your goals. I strive to assist clients in fully exploring their emotions in an environment characterized by compassion, acceptance, and safety. I take a holistic view of each person and consider the physical, emotional, behavioral, and spiritual components of well-being. I feel strongly that connection with values facilitates growth and satisfaction. I am particularly interested in partnering with my clients as they seek to better understand and apply their values.
Are you struggling to be your full self in relationship with others? I support clients with relational difficulties, especially related to self-worth, people pleasing, or perfectionism. I also work with couples in the areas of communication, emotional intimacy, boundary clarification, and divorce discernment. I have personal and professional experience with autism and ADHD. I have worked with many late-identified neurodivergent clients to address depression, anxiety or relationship concerns through self-acceptance. My approach is neurodivergent-affirming, rather than behavioral-based. I strive to be an LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC ally.

Hello! My name is Kate, and I've been a therapist for 15 years, and a virtual therapist for 3 years. I have a Masters in Social Work and am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Indiana, Kentucky, and Tennessee. I love working with people of all ages, and enjoy addressing a diverse array of issues that impair us from being our best selves. In addition to myself, I work with 4 co-therapists; 3 dogs and a cat! They occassionally make brief appearances during sessions to provide their insight. I generally approach therapy as an equal meeting of you, as the expert on yourself, and me, as someone who can give some qualified insight and ask good questions to guide you to your own answers. I tend to be warm and engaging, and I pull the most from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), although I also use certain tools from other modalities, as well. In our sessions, we will work together to target the areas in which you would like to grow, give you the tools you need in order to produce the desired growth, and tackle sticking points and struggles as you work on applying what we discuss in therapy. I generally will give "homework" between sessions to help you continue to think about and apply what we are working on in your daily life, but it's nothing intense, I promise! Most clients find the "homework" really helpful and even fun, sometimes.
