Hello! Since obtaining my Masters in Social Work from IUPUI, I have been an individual, family and school-based therapist working with clients of all ages ranging from 3-years-old and up. I have worked with behavioral problems, school-based struggles, addictions, trauma and abuse, depression, anxiety, marital/relationship struggles, mood disorders, counseling before geriatric surgery, self-esteem issues, parenting, grief and loss, clients involved with DCS and probation, and adjusting to life’s changes. I utilize a trauma-focused approach that draws from tenets of strengths-based approaches, CBT, DBT and solution-focused techniques. I believe an important aspect of counseling is a trusting therapeutic relationship. I focus on a non-judgmental and accepting approach as I work to get to know you so that you feel confident and comfortable expressing feelings. Having a good connection with a therapist can help create the foundation for effective change and progress in the counseling experience. With a strong therapeutic relationship, we can work together as a team to work through whatever it is you are facing. You do not have to go through life’s struggles alone. Contact me today to get started!

With the many transitions that life brings can come many challenges. It can be difficult to navigate these challenges alone and reaching out for support is a significant step in working towards healing. My goal is to help you navigate your healing journey using compassion, empathy, creativity, and humor. I have worked in a variety of settings including the department of corrections, psychiatric inpatient hospitals, and in an after school setting. Throughout experience I have worked with many different clients including individuals experiencing challenges related to depression, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, grief, work stress, career transitions, spirituality, and family life. I approach my work with the mindset that the client is the expert in their treatment. In my work I utilize Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Mindfulness Based Interventions. I aim to provide a welcoming, supportive, inclusive, and judgement free space for you to process any struggles and work towards your goals. I recognize that each person’s path to healing is unique and during our time together we will discover which approach is ideal for you. Life can bring on so much heartache and struggles that can make us feel lost. Through self-exploration we can work towards transforming into a more healed self. Clients interested in working together can reach out to me at rickele@humboldtparkcounseling.com or at 312-880-7671 for more information. All inquires are welcome.

I am a Master’s Level Intern in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program at Ball State University. I'm working with Associates in Behavioral Counseling under the supervision of a licensed psychologist. I work with all ages, from young children to older adults, who experience relationship/family concerns, depression, grief, trauma, anxiety, self-esteem, and behavioral disorders. Sessions will always be person-centered, culturally-sensitive, and trauma-informed. My approach to therapy is holistic, mind-body oriented, and rooted in mindfulness. I also pull from emotionally-focused therapy, attachment-based therapy, and expressive arts therapy. I believe that the therapy should fit the person, not the other way around. So, I may pull from other modalities that will benefit you the most.

Hi there, I’m Maire Grupp, a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) in Indiana and Michigan. If you’re reading this, you may be looking for some backup in navigating challenges in your life. I am here to help. I work with individuals, families, and youth who are navigating grief, anxiety, life transitions, depression, and other challenges. I aim to create a space where you feel heard, supported, and able to move at your own pace in an inclusive environment suitable for all individuals, including neurodiverse individuals and those who identify across the LGBTQIA+ spectrum. My goal is to provide care that is both compassionate and effective. My background includes hospice and grief counseling, crisis response, and community mental health case management. My passion for quality care started in my work as a Direct Support Professional in the group home setting, and has grown through my completion of my Master’s Degree in Social Work at IUSB. I use a variety of evidenced based therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing (MI), dialectal behavioral therapy (DBT), Complicated Grief Therapy (CGT), and creative expression, among others. My approach is eclectic and tailored to your unique needs and life experience. Outside of work, I enjoy baking, creative writing, spending time outdoors, and time with my wonderful cats. I offer evening and weekend availability, so sessions can more easily fit into your schedule and lifestyle. I have been in private practice since 1995, providing mental health counseling to undergrad and graduate students who may have difficulties living away from home, strenuous academic schedules, trouble making friends and fitting in, as well as stress related to dissertation and associated exams. When the relatively brief nature of on-campus counseling isn’t enough, students appreciate the easy access and privacy of online counseling through the Google Meet app.

Licensed Mental Health Counselor
Elkhart, IN

I am a solution focused therapist with 6 years of experience working with individuals and families to help them reach their goals. I get to know my clients and incorporate meaningful activities into our therapeutic sessions to help them work through the issues that are causing them disruption in their lives. I know that life can be difficult due to many different issues. Whatever the issue is, I am happy to work with clients to help them figure out how to overcome it. My primary objective is to help clients remove barriers to personal success and take steps toward autonomy through the promotion of mental health. I am able to provide this service in both English and Spanish. In addition to being a bilingual mental health therapist, I am a seasoned educator with 13 years of classroom teaching experience. Over the years, I have gained beneficial experience that has helped form my counseling philosophy that we all have room to grow. Lao Tzu said it best when he coined the phrase, "a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step." We are all on a journey in this life and start at different places along the path. It doesn't matter where any one of us starts, it just matters that we take that first step and keep on going.

Have you experienced overwhelming stress in your life? Do you often feel unseen, unwanted, or under-appreciated? Do you feel stuck, overwhelmed, or easily irritated? Maybe you’re not even sure why, but you have a feeling something is just not working well. Your relationships don’t offer the support you wish they did. You feel isolated, overwhelmed and angry much of the time, or you are either avoiding conflict or having more arguments than you’d like. You toggle between wanting to people-please to feel seen and wanting to run off to live alone on an island somewhere off grid. But you know there’s more than this cycle you feel trapped in, a way to feel better, to understand the deeper roots of what’s contributing to your stress, and a way to break free. I help guide you in understanding and managing your emotions, developing coping strategies, and facilitating healing and growth. I provide a safe and supportive space for you to process your experiences, helping you regain a sense of control and resilience. In gardening, the unwanted or overgrown parts of a plant must be trimmed back or cut away to allow for fruit or blossoms to grow. Sometimes, we need to do the same in our life. Although pruning may sound painful and difficult, it is not a punishment. Pruning enhances growth by removing what inhibits us and allows us to grow. It may take some work, but you will not be alone.
