Hi there! I work with individuals struggling with Grief, Anxiety, and Trauma. A specific area of interest for me has been working with those who have tried therapy in the past, but for whatever reason had difficulty showing up fully in the counseling space. My aim is to change that narrative with relational psychotherapy, somatic processing, & EMDRIA approved EMDR. I have clinical experience working in areas such as depression, shame, self-harm, suicidal ideation, body-image issues, eating disorders, life transitions, faith-based issues, relational challenges, phobias, addiction, & self-esteem.

Life can be like the weather. Some days are blue skies and sunshine, and other days are stormy. Sometimes the storms stick around for a little longer than wanted or expected, and they start to impact important areas of your life. Weather can especially be unpredictable, and can affect you in a way where it feels like the rug was pulled out under your feet. While we cannot control the weather, I recognize that it can be exhausting, depressing, and anxiety-provoking. My goal is to help you recognize your resiliency and learn to navigate these events together. I am passionate about supporting teens and adults impacted by sudden or traumatic loss, navigating grief, or want to learn how to cope with breakups or divorce. I also provide couples therapy using an emotion-focused therapeutic approach, and help those experiencing stress, anxiety, depression, or other interpersonal concerns. Our individual stories and identities are unique, and I strive to honor them with culturally-sensitive and trauma-informed approaches during the therapeutic process. The decision to start therapy can be incredibly hard, and I will meet you where you are at through it all. I look forward to connecting with you!

I specialize in helping teens, adults and families who are struggling in their relationships. You may find the trauma or discord from your past is resulting in unhappy relationships where you feel disconnected or misunderstood. This can include parents feeling frustrated and needing practical strategies, academics navigating a competitive environment, or those overwhelmed by depression, anxiety, or low self esteem who are ready to release unhelpful symptoms. I provide tailored strategies to uncover your powerful authentic self, understand your inner dialogue more fully, and support you in creating more harmony within yourself. I approach sessions with deep listening and recognize that your struggles exist in the context of your environment and life history. I support you in gaining understanding of how some habits of behaving and thinking may be strategies you learned when your needs were not met as a child and are negatively affecting relationships or are causing you suffering. I utilize a variety of treatment approaches that I tailor to your individual situation. I will likely weave mindfulness, self-compassion, knowledge about the nervous system, and communication skill-building into our sessions. I pull from therapeutic modalities such as Internal Family Systems, Somatic Experiencing, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

Being human is hard. There are many emotions that come from simply existing. It can feel overwhelming to embark on the search and discovery of one’s most authentic self all while navigating the world around you. To learn what works & what you’d like to change. To find the language to communicate who you are to yourself & others. It can help to have someone accompany you as you learn & remember who you are or want to become. I can provide a space for all that you carry to be witnessed, validated, & explored. I’d love to join you in your journey towards embracing both the beautiful & painful complexities of being human. I know what it feels like to sit on the other side of the room. I am no stranger to therapy & I value giving you a sense of autonomy. I collaborate with you & operate from a place of relationship- which I believe can be the most healing tool. I hope to be a witness to your emotions & stories, to remind you that you do not have to journey through this alone. I specialize in grief, anxiety, religious trauma, life transitions, boundary work, & in working with the LGBTQIA+ community. I have worked in a variety of settings & have been so honored to journey with a multitude of clients towards their healing & authentic selves. If any of this resonates with you, reach out for a free consultation. I'm here for you!

I focus on working with clients to recognize your inherent worthiness at work and within relationships, build trust in your inner wisdom, and integrate mindfulness and spirituality into your daily life. Whether you are coming out of a painful breakup, redefining your career path, navigating how to ask for what you need in partnership, or creating a kinder relationship with yourself, our work together can help you build self-confidence, self-awareness, and stress management techniques. My ideal client is someone who wants to embody their creative side, is curious about spirituality, and longs to step into their greatness. I specialize in mindfulness as a tool to build a more loving relationship with yourself. I bring an integrated head (concrete exercises you can practice between sessions) and heart (deeper understanding of self and how to relate differently with your thoughts and feelings) approach. If you’ve been thinking, “I want to trust myself. I want to trust my intuition/inner knowing. I want to love myself wholeheartedly - on the days I feel powerful and the days I feel small. I want to embody the badass human I was born to be.”- This work is for you.

My goal is to improve client mental health so that they feel and perform better. I provide a space where clients can be “heard” without judgment and are able to identify their strengths. These strengths are then combined with research-based practices to build skills needed to achieve one's personal goals. If a client is unsure about their goals, they have my support in helping to clarify them. We will then learn, practice and apply the skills. At other times, a simple objective ear is all a client needs. My services are provided in the least restrictive and quickest manner possible. With over 30 years' experience, it's been a privilege to assist over 9,000 diverse clients with a wide variety of challenges and in variety of settings. My approach is “Integrative”, which involves selecting models and methods from across orientations to best suit a particular client and context and is shown to enhance the effectiveness of therapy. As we all face challenges at different times in our lives, I help improve client resiliency to cope with those challenges and we do so in a way that continues their improvement after formal therapy ends. My experiences are particularly helpful for clients who have experienced trauma and challenges as members of marginalized groups. Balancing academic, social, family, work, career decisions and the many other transitions during this time of life can be challenging. Having been a director of a college counseling center, I’m able to apply my services to help students achieve their goals at all levels of academic achievement. As a psychologist, I am equipped to help manage many mental health matters that may affect a student’s personal and academic well-being.

We each come to this moment with our own story. Maybe you’re coming up against circumstances that, for the first time, feel beyond what you can handle, or maybe you’ve been grappling with your struggles for your entire life, so familiar with your internal battles that they seem inevitable. Maybe life has thrown one too many boulders your way and you feel yourself collapsing under the weight, or maybe you’ve managed to build the life that you thought you wanted but now wonder why joy, contentment, or meaning seem so elusive. Regardless of your story or your experience with counseling – from new clients to seasoned members of the helping professions – you are welcome here. I don’t believe in a single “right way” or “best theory”, because what you need will likely be different than someone else, and even different from what you may need a month or a year from now. It may be that what you find yourself needing is simply a space, held with compassion and non-judgment, to rest and sort through yourself. Others may need structure, skills, and strategies, or someone to help guide them through past traumas. Whatever your history, your own goals and needs will be at the forefront of our work. Within that work, I will draw from a range of different techniques, approaches, and theories to best support you, and make full use of the collaborative process to adjust and fine-tune as we progress.

Are you feeling stuck, burned out, unmotivated, exhausted or worse? That’s not life. You were meant to feel alive! By closely examining your thoughts, behaviors, and, most importantly, your emotions, you will discover what beliefs and habits keep you locked in negative, self-defeating patterns, and how to free yourself for good. Regardless of what happens – or happened – to you, you can learn to live a life filled with passion and purpose. I take a personalized, integrative and collaborative approach to psychotherapy, utilizing a wide array of techniques from depth psychology and individual psychology, to narrative therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and others. I also believe in the power of expressive arts therapy and often incorporate music and poetry. My goal is to create a caring and supportive space for you to feel. To feel safe, and seen, and heard. Fertile ground to fully be and become the awesome person that you are. Let's get to work.

Hey and Welcome! As a therapist, my goal is to create an emotionally safe space, that is intersectional and inclusive, to pursue personal healing and self-discovery. Through our work, we will identify how the experiences you have had in your life have impacted who you are in this world and how you relate to others. We will explore the emotional, mental, and systemic barriers that get in the way of evolving into the person you'd ideally like to be, while simultaneously developing a deep respect and reverence for the various versions of you over time that were forced to be resilient through difficult and challenging circumstances. I support clients who are seeking coping tools to create and maintain a sense of emotional stability. My clients are often pursuing healing from trauma, whether it be attachment based childhood trauma or a specific and recent traumatic experience. I specialize in working with LGBTQIA+ folx, women, and various issues that impact folx of the global majority. Therapy invites us to take up space, prioritize caring for ourselves, and create a life that feels worth living. Seeking support is not an easy decision and the fact you've made it this far is significant. If you'd like to learn more about me, the work I do, and my approach to therapy, please reach out to schedule a consultation appointment.
