Therapists for college students near Denver, CO
As a person of color with three years of experience providing therapy in private practice and community mental health settings, I help underserved communities and beyond navigate life transitions, relationship issues, identity issues, self-esteem, and stress management, with a focus on youth, adolescents, and young adults. Bringing compassion and inclusivity to my work allows me to be a supportive partner to every patient I work with. I look forward to deepening our understanding, together with you, of how our emotions, thoughts, and feelings shape who we are today. Authenticity, collaboration, and inclusivity are at the heart of how I work. As a social worker specializing in play therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and person-centered care, I'm passionate about advocating for your needs while helping you build the coping skills to meet them. In session, I bring an open mind and use CBT and DBT to help you understand your emotions and feelings, and work through unhelpful thoughts and behaviors. This style is holistic, and tailored to your unique goals and needs at all times. My path to becoming a therapist began with aiding foster care youth, and eventually youth and adolescents in private practice settings, during my internship experiences in graduate school. Born and raised in Colorado, I have always been around young people, growing up volunteering in community settings and helping care for younger siblings and family. These experiences deepened my commitment to providing respectful, caring support that meets each patient's needs, and it's what led me to want to continue bringing mental health awareness to all walks of life. I bring that same open-mindedness and kindness to each session with you. Pickleball and tennis with friends are some of my favorite ways to unwind. I also enjoy trying new restaurants and coffee or boba shops with loved ones, going to concerts, shopping, gaming, and exploring everything my home state of Colorado has to offer. And a good karaoke night with friends or family is always a win!

Are you struggling with feelings of disconnection and isolation? Are you too self-critical or perfectionistic and want to work on your self-esteem and sense of self? Do you want to learn how to let go, have fun, and live in the moment? Do you want to get more in touch with your playful and creative inner child? Does the idea of doing improv comedy make you feel nervous, but you’re intrigued? Do you like to laugh? Within a small, supportive group of 4-7 people that meets for eight weeks, you will learn how to be more compassionate towards yourself so that you can feel calmer and more connected to other people, more often! You will practice your self-compassion skills in real-time through tailored improv comedy exercises that are designed to support you on the path toward increasing your self-acceptance and self-confidence. At its core, improv comedy helps you to take risks, make mistakes, and not take yourself so seriously. We will laugh a lot : ) Past clients have said… “I always felt nervous to go, but felt like something had been released after each session." “I love the space to talk about what we are dealing with. I have never been actually excited to go to therapy until finding this group.” "The play and improv was beneficial for my perfectionism because I got to experience just diving into things." "I loved connecting with people who I felt really understood me.” “I am forever changed!”

I’m Rachel, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who is certified in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). My goal is to create a safe and empowering space for my clients because our teenage and young adult years can be stressful and overwhelming to navigate with all of the different life changes that continue to happen. As we continue to grow as individuals, we are constantly trying to identify and discover who we are and who we want to be. This no longer has to be a process that you work at alone. I specialize in anxiety, depression, life-transitions, trauma, and relationships. I help teenagers, young adults, and adults learn to manage and understand difficult emotions, establish boundaries, and feel confident in their life goals. We will work as a team to learn new and healthy habits, as well as ways to create a life worth living. You deserve to enjoy your life! It can be difficult to take the next step, but when you are ready, please reach out via phone or email, and I would be happy to schedule a consult.
Asking for help can feel like failure. But it’s actually the smartest thing you can do. You’re at a rigorous university. You’re surrounded by smart, accomplished people. Everyone seems to have it together: classes, social life, and future plans despite all the pressure. Except you’re in your room at 2 AM and your anxiety is spiraling. Or you’re making a decision that feels impossibly huge and you have no idea which way to turn. Or you’re just… exhausted. The problem isn’t that you’re not capable. The problem is you’re trying to figure out who you actually are while everyone expects you to have it all figured out. That’s where I come in. I’m Debbie Miller, a therapist who gets college students. I spent 25 years in Ann Arbor and worked extensively with University of Michigan students. I know the academic pressure, the social dynamics, the Greek life culture, the competitive environment. I still work with Michigan students via telehealth, and I genuinely understand what it’s like to be where you are. I work with students who feel overwhelmed by pressure, confused about their future, struggling with anxiety or depression, or navigating major transitions. Students who know something needs to shift but aren’t sure how. Here’s the approach: We work together to help you become an expert on yourself. We’re a team. My job isn’t to tell you what to do, it’s to ask the right questions so you hear your own voice clearly. To challenge you on beliefs that hold you back. To help you figure out what actually matters to you (not what you think should matter). This isn’t always comfortable, but discomfort is usually a sign that real growth is happening. Your pace, your direction. That’s the deal. Ready to talk? Call or email me to schedule your free consultation.
As an art therapist, I use creativity as a way to help people better understand themselves, manage stress, and work through difficult emotions. Art therapy can be especially helpful for people who may have a hard time putting their feelings or experiences into words. Through creating, connecting, and working together, art therapy can help individuals navigate challenges, explore their identity, and build confidence. I have experience working with individuals who experience anxiety, depression, autism, ADHD, and other mental health concerns. Whether you are dealing with a specific challenge, processing a difficult experience, or simply looking for ways to improve your emotional well-being, art therapy can be a supportive space to explore and grow. Feel free to reach out if you have questions or would like to connect!

Hi, I'm Oivia! I offer telehealth and in-person therapy in Denver. I am an Anxiety Specialist supporting college students and young adults with anxiety, depression, ADHD, stress management, and relationships. My approach is holistic and trauma-informed, helping you move through shame, emotional overwhelm, and self-doubt. Whether you're adjusting to campus life, facing relationship issues, or questioning yourself, I’m here to help you build confidence, develop coping tools, and feel more grounded and confident in who you are.
I work with you to not just understand what's going on, but also to develop tools to help. Tools to stop panic attacks, tools to manage depression, tools to get organized and figure out what you want in life. We work together to see what works reliably for you. In addition to talking things through, in session and between sessions sometimes you might be writing, sometimes trying a challenging behavior change, sometimes engaging in mindfulness, and sometimes using visualizations. My aim is for you to feel better, and to know what to do to keep feeling better or help yourself if problems resurface. And I try to work efficiently with you, so you are back to your life (and ending therapy) as soon as makes sense for you. Give me a call to set up an initial (free) conversation, at 303-870-9195.
Reaching out for psychiatric care can be difficult. You may be concerned about being judged, unsure about medication, or discouraged by previous treatment experiences. As a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I believe care should be built on trust, honesty, respect, and collaboration. My role is to listen without judgment, explain your options clearly, and make sure you have a meaningful voice in treatment. I work with people of all backgrounds, including adolescents, adults, veterans, military-connected individuals, and members of the LGBTQ+ community. Many patients come to me because they want to better understand what they’re experiencing and find a treatment plan that feels manageable. These struggles may result in feeling constantly on guard, depressed, hopeless, unmotivated, or unable to concentrate – with symptoms that often affect sleep, relationships, school, work, and day-to-day functioning. Other psychiatric conditions include PTSD, mood disorders, and ADHD. No matter what you’re facing, my aim is to create a therapeutic relationship built on trust, honesty, respect, and collaboration to better help you improve sleep, focus, emotional stability, relationships, motivation, and overall quality of life. My work as a psychiatric clinician centers on evaluations, diagnoses, medication management, supportive therapy, treatment planning, and patient education, all guided by a collaborative, patient-centered approach built on shared decision-making. Rather than simply prescribing a path forward, I take time to listen and explain treatment options clearly, so you understand the potential benefits and risks of each one before deciding together what makes sense. From there, your treatment plan is built around your specific symptoms, goals, preferences, and past response to care. That same collaborative spirit shapes what it feels like to work with me day to day. My style is calm, conversational, and grounded in a supportive, respectful environment where you're never just receiving instructions. Through medication management, supportive therapy, motivational interviewing, and education, I help you better understand what you're experiencing and take an active role in your own treatment. As your goals and experiences evolve, so does your plan, since care here is never meant to be static. My approach to mental health care has been shaped by 25 years of experience as an Army combat medic, critical care nurse, and psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner. These roles gave me firsthand insight into trauma, crisis, resilience, and the effects of high-stress environments on individuals and families. I also hold a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree, a Master of Business Administration, and the Healthcare Ethics Consultant-Certified credential. This combination of clinical, leadership, and healthcare ethics training strengthens my commitment to thoughtful, evidence-based treatments that respect each patient's values, autonomy, and individual circumstances. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wife and our four children. Our family is actively involved in Scouting America, which gives us opportunities to serve our community, spend time outdoors, and learn new skills together. I also enjoy fishing, camping, kayaking, gaming, reading, and woodworking.
