We offer a fresh approach to therapy, pairing the needs of our clients with our professionals’ areas of expertise (and their personalities!) to achieve the most positive outcomes. We prioritize cultivating authentic relationships with our clients in settings they feel most comfortable in – from welcoming indoor environments to walking trails. Gone are the days of business suits and sterile white walls! We see the most success when clients feel they’re in a safe space with someone who truly understands them. We have a diverse team of professionals who bring different perspectives to our work, allowing us to connect with clients at every stage of their journey. One commonality we all share – and the driving force behind our success – is a passion for helping people. This is our core value and our primary mission.
We at WFP are a multi-disciplinary group comprised of clinicians who are well-versed in many different treatment modalities. As a group we include licensed nurse practitioners, psychologists, clinical social workers and professional counselors. Our training perspectives may vary, but we are united by an abiding interest in providing state-of-the-art psychological evaluations and treatment for children, adults and families in the Richmond, Virginia community. We believe in working collaboratively with other medical health practitioners. We are pleased to consult with area pediatricians and family practice physicians as well as school guidance counselors and teachers.
I work with individuals (13+) of all races, ethnicities, spiritual identities, and am LGBTQ+ affirming. In my therapeutic practice, I integrate various modalities, including EMDR, Internal Family Systems, and body-based therapies, with a particular focus on trauma healing. My approach is enriched by insights from neurobiology and empirical insights into trauma's impact on the nervous system. I am a sister, a friend, a struggling potter. I have my own therapist because I believe I cannot take anyone on a journey, I have not taken myself. I intentionally keep my private practice small because I want to be able to provide the best care for my clients. This means I am often unable to take clients that do not fit within my scope of expertise. I will not be a good fit for you if: 1)You have actively engaged in self-harm or suicide attempts in the past year. 2) You are struggling with substance abuse or addiction. 3) You are engaged in ongoing court or legal system involvement. You are already capable of profound healing and my job is to simply to guide you toward that capacity with compassion, insight, creativity and, always a bit of humor.
Struggling? Worried about being judged or labeled? We see people as people first. We take a strengths based client driven approach. We have expertise in the areas of adoption, trauma, relationships and transitions. We use neuroscience informed methods of therapy as well as models created with the brain and body in mind like EMDR, the Safe and Sound Protocol and Internal Family Systems. We come alongside clients in their journey, we don't push or pull them in a certain direction.
The Lighthouse team is excited to work with you! We know that life is often difficult, and we are passionate about helping others. Our team of mental health clinicians are committed to helping you reach your goals and improve your overall quality of life. We look forward to partnering with you on this journey of personal growth and healing.
I practice from the belief that humans are complex beings with amazing capabilities. Obstacles and challenging situations can block us from using our capabilities to their full potential, changing the ways we think, the ways that we live our lives, and the ways in which we relate to others. As a clinician, I believe that therapy can be used as a resource to for living out our potential. Everyone is capable of change, and I act as a resource for individuals in need to work through the limitations of health burdens, social injustices, relationship problems, and the other challenging issues. My treatment model incorporates several therapeutic strategies for a personalized approach to each client. All of my services are rendered in a way culturally competent and respectful of race, sexuality, gender, and other important identities. I spend considerable time getting to know the individuals who are within my care as we collaborate in this process

I provide individual therapy to adults of all ages and teenagers ages 16+. I believe healing happens in relationships where you feel genuinely seen, respected, and safe. As a queer-identified and bicultural therapist, I especially enjoy working with LGBTQ+ individuals and understand how affirming, identity-aware therapy can make a meaningful difference. I strive to create a space where all parts of you, including your identities, relationships, and lived experiences, are welcomed and respected. I draw heavily from compassion-focused therapy, supporting clients in developing a kinder, more understanding relationship with themselves, particularly when shame and self-criticism have taken root. Alongside this, I use solution-focused strategies to help identify strengths and move toward meaningful, achievable change. My style balances acceptance and change: honoring where you are right now while gently supporting you in building tools to create the life you want. Therapy with me is practical, and deeply human. Please feel free to reach out to schedule a free 15-minute consult to determine if I would be a good fit for you! Supervised by Margaret Sheehan, LMFT.
I am a clinical psychologist specializing in anxiety disorders and the intersection of health and mental health (e.g., sleep disorders, chronic pain, headaches, GI disorders, chronic illness). I provide a collaborative approach to therapy and meet clients where they are. I find a lot of power in understanding the "why" behind what's happening in our brains and bodies when we're anxious or in pain and want to share that information with clients so they have a sense of agency. I have the PsyPACT passport and am able to see you in most states if you're returning home for holiday or summer break in most cases. Summit is a group practice located near the intersection of Three Chopt and Parham. We operate as out-of-network providers and can offer a Superbill for services, so you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. See our website for more information and fee schedule.
