I strive to help individuals struggling with distressing emotions, unhealthy relationships, uncertainty, and the overwhelming demands of life. I see a wide range of clients, including those suffering from anxiety, depression, low motivation, relationship issues, and trauma. In therapy, I will help you to develop an understanding of how past experiences influence your current struggles. As you learn about yourself and the origin of your suffering, you will become more self-aware, fulfilled, and equipped to make positive changes. I trained at UT Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas and have extensive experience in private practice, hospital, and college counseling settings. I seek to establish a supportive, nurturing relationship with clients to facilitate growth and introspection in an environment of compassion, respect, and non-judgmental acceptance. I believe therapy offers a unique experience to learn about yourself, others, and the world. I strongly believe in the potential of human beings to access their inner resources to create change and empower themselves to have the quality of life they want and they deserve. I am a Spanish/English Bilingual Therapist who works with adults. As an immigrant myself, I understand cross-cultural and acculturation situations that hinder daily life due to immigration processes. Part of my focus as a therapist is to comprehend and work with the nuances of different backgrounds and cultural needs. I have been a hypnotherapist for over 14 years. I have extensive training and experience in Traditional and Ericksonian Hypnosis. I also have training in healing emotional wounds through regressive techniques. I truly believe hypnosis is a magnificent technique to help clients reach out their inner resources, create change and empower themselves.
I'm a millennial therapist mixing healing with humor, honesty & compassion. Judgment-free vibes, deep work, and maybe a meme or playlist too. My approach is person-centered and strength-based, grounded in the belief that every individual holds the capacity for growth and healing. I bring a deep commitment to social justice into the therapy space, recognizing that meaningful healing often requires challenging and dismantling the oppressive systems that impact our lives. In our work together, I aim to create a safe, affirming space where your voice is heard and your resilience is honored.
In my practice, I find that the most valuable part of therapy is the therapeutic relationship between a counselor and a client. I strive to create an environment that feels authentic, warm and supportive and believe it is privilege to be part of an individual's journey through healing, growth and self-discovery. I have experience helping adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, past trauma history, bullying, self-harm, low self-esteem, family of origin issues, & suicidal thoughts among a variety of other concerns. I also enjoy working in perinatal mental health and am currently enrolled in training through Postpartum Support International.

Let us help guide you towards building goals to create a healthier you! Therapy can be an effective tool to provide clarity on struggles and gain valuable insight on how to tackle those struggles. Don't do life alone, start counseling to gain support.
I have a passion for working with youth who are navigating trauma, anxiety, identity, substance use, and other mental health issues. I'm specifically honored to serve LGBTQiA+ folks as a proud member of the queer community myself. I love helping anyone tap into their autonomy, self-love, find their strengths, and accomplish their goals. I practice harm reduction, which helps people determine how to do what they want to do (whether that be coming out as transgender or non-binary, building community, sexual exploration, drug use, etc.) to their own level of comfort and safety at their own pace. I provide a collaborative and open approach to therapy without any judgement. You are in the driver's seat and determine what the destination is. I'm just in the passenger's seat with a stack of maps, helping you find your path.

Hello! I’m Dr. Ryne Pulido. I’m a husband, father, and psychologist in Texas. I’m so excited to help folks build lives experienced as worth living and sharing. I started out as a therapist for children, adolescents, and young adults. Initially, “young adult” referred to college students. Then “young adult” expanded to include medical and law school students. And then it expanded to include early career professionals. Now, it has expanded to early career professionals struggling to #adult. Your struggle is real. Many of my clients struggle with intense emotional pain stemming from feelings of unlovability and fear of rejection. Their pain acts like an emotional dictator that commands them to withdraw from friends, family, work, school, hobbies, passions, interests, and other activities that make life worth living. Increasingly distant from their values (who they want to be deep inside their hearts) and goals (what they want to accomplish), they feel directionless and unsure of their best life because they’re so focused on protecting themselves from emotional pain. If this sounds like you, know it doesn’t have to be this way. You deserve a life worth living and sharing. Imagine what it would be like to control your actions (the things you do and say) amidst an emotional storm. What if you could be the person you want to be and move toward your goals just 20% more often? What would your relationships be like? Where would your career be? How much better would your sleep be?! Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) I utilize a modern form of the tried-and-true Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) called Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Although ACT involves a radically new approach to happiness, over 1,000 clinical trials have been published in peer-reviewed journals, demonstrating its effectiveness with diverse populations struggling with a wide range of psychological problems. ACT is focused on creating richer, fuller, and more meaningful lives rather than solely symptom reduction. When your life is bigger, the pain is smaller by comparison. ACT is a very active form of therapy. It’s not just talking about your problems and feelings (although there is always space for that). You will learn practical skills to move from struggling to flourishing. We will move through the program step-by-step, learning skills that build on each other. The good news is the skills are easy to learn and effective. You are headed into the unknown. Unfortunately, counseling and therapy is not 100% effective. Although I accept commercial insurance (if you go through Alma) and the Lotus Fund, the risk of committing time, money, effort, and heart to something that doesn’t work out is very real. I also can’t promise that you won’t feel uncomfortable, judged, and misunderstood, but you will have permission to express yourself and stop anything that is uncomfortable. I’ll listen with an open mind and you’re in the driver’s seat. But you are not alone. It’s your journey, but we’re a team—working together to help you become the person you want to be and build the life you want to live and share. All brains matter. I’ve spent my entire professional career working with neurodivergent folks and their families. I have a special place in my heart for ADHDers, autistics, and people with strong personalities. Are you in Texas, prefer virtual care, and ready to get to work? You can contact me by email (admin@rynepulidophd.com) or by calling or texting 512-537-4743. (Note it can take up to 72 hours for me to return a call, email, or text. If you are in a mental health emergency, call 9-1-1 or go to the nearest ER). …and if you’re sort of ready that’s cool too. Reach out to me to schedule a free 15-minute phone consultation! Need financial help? I offer sliding-scale fee slots via Open Path Collective. These slots are extremely limited, so please get in touch with me before signing up to work with me. I also accept the Lotus Fund via the Asian Mental Health Collective.
