Therapists for college students near 78712
College can be exciting—and overwhelming at the same time. Many students come to counseling feeling stressed, burned out, unsure of who they are becoming, or anxious about the future. You might be juggling classes, work, relationships, family expectations, and big questions about identity and direction—while feeling like you’re supposed to have it all figured out. I provide a supportive, non-judgmental space where college students and young adults can slow down, process what they’re carrying, and feel genuinely understood. Counseling with me is collaborative, practical, and focused on helping you feel more grounded, confident, and clear as you move forward. I Work With Students Navigating: *Academic stress, burnout, and pressure to perform *Anxiety, overthinking, and constant mental fatigue *Identity exploration (values, purpose, faith, culture, self-worth) *Life transitions (starting college, transferring, graduating, post-grad uncertainty) *Career uncertainty, major decisions, and fear of “choosing wrong” *Relationship challenges (dating, friendships, family dynamics) *Perfectionism, people-pleasing, and imposter syndrome *Feeling lost, stuck, or disconnected from yourself You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit from counseling—many students come simply because they want support during a demanding season of life. My approach is warm, thoughtful, and grounded in evidence-based counseling practices. Sessions are a space where you can talk openly, ask questions, and develop tools that actually help in daily life—whether that’s managing stress, improving boundaries, or making sense of who you’re becoming. If you are a Christian who values faith as part of your life, I also offer Christian counseling upon request. This is always optional and guided by your comfort level.

I help teens and adults with anxiety, perfectionism, trauma, and sleep issues break free from self-limiting beliefs and patterns, so they can live with more freedom and purpose. You might look successful on the outside, but inside, you're caught in a push-pull between productivity and paralysis—swinging between overworking and procrastination, unable to truly rest even when you're drained. Maybe stress is showing up in your body—tension, headaches, trouble sleeping. Or perhaps past experiences have left you feeling disconnected from yourself and others, wondering if you’ll ever feel like yourself again. I use Internal Family Systems (IFS) and EMDR to help you quiet self-criticism, process past experiences, and reconnect with yourself. For insomnia, I offer CBT-I. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, perfectionism, trauma, or sleep struggles, therapy gives you the space to step out of survival mode, build new skills, and feel more like yourself again. I offer a free 15-minute consultation so we can see if we’re the right fit. With telehealth sessions available in 40 states and Washington, DC, and in-person appointments in Dallas, therapy has never been more accessible. Ready to take the next step? I have a passion for working with youth who are navigating trauma, anxiety, identity, substance use, and other mental health issues. I'm specifically honored to serve LGBTQiA+ folks as a proud member of the queer community myself. I love helping anyone tap into their autonomy, self-love, find their strengths, and accomplish their goals. I practice harm reduction, which helps people determine how to do what they want to do (whether that be coming out as transgender or non-binary, building community, sexual exploration, drug use, etc.) to their own level of comfort and safety at their own pace. I provide a collaborative and open approach to therapy without any judgement. You are in the driver's seat and determine what the destination is. I'm just in the passenger's seat with a stack of maps, helping you find your path.

I am passionate about helping other people improve their health and have dedicated my nursing career toward continually achieving this goal. I am honored to have been a registered nurse for 17 years, with most of that time spent in a major metropolitan hospital responding to medical emergencies as part of the facility’s Rapid Response Team. After gaining a wealth of experience performing rapid assessments and thus improving the physiological and mental health needs of patients in crisis, it made sense for me to evolve and find a niche that focused solely on psychiatric-mental health nursing. I approach new clients with the belief that they should be encouraged to speak freely, which is a fundamentally important step towards establishing clear goals and objectives. Furthermore, I would like my clients to feel comfortable being an active participant and engaged in improving their mental well-being. The goal of our time together is quite simply to help you start to feel better and improve the quality of your life. I would like you to feel comfortable enough to share the issues that are most challenging and burdensome so that we may work towards addressing them head on. Our initial encounter will include learning your history, how you’ve been feeling, any past successes and/or failures with medications, and then collaborating towards a plan to achieving the goal of feeling better and improving your mental health.

I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). I obtained both my Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Nursing from The University of Texas at Tyler. I have over 11 years of experience in nursing working in various fields and with a variety of patient populations. I have experience working with patients needing mental health services both inpatient and outpatient. I am dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with mental health concerns by increasing access to those needing mental health treatment while providing support, compassion, and understanding. I am here for the patient and want to ensure that all his or her needs are met. I have a passion for working in mental health services and genuinely care about each individual. I listen to his or her concerns and history to develop a diagnosis and formulate a treatment plan with the patient. The patients preferences and needs will lead the treatment approach initially and going forward. I include the patient in all aspects of care. Listening to his or her concerns, symptoms, and history is an important starting point in developing a diagnosis. The diagnosis is thoroughly discussed with the patient and I will answer any questions that present. Following the diagnosis, a plan of care is developed with the patients input. Patient preferences for therapy, medication, or both, are included in the treatment plan, and any referrals necessary will be made. Medication, if necessary and agreed upon, will be called in to the patients preferred pharmacy and any remaining questions or concerns will be addressed. A follow-up visit to assess ongoing effectiveness of the treatment plan will be made. At consecutive appointments, any necessary changes to the treatment plan will be made. However, I am available for concerns, questions, or needs that may arise prior to follow-up visits when needed.

My ultimate goal is for you to have discrete tools and techniques that you can use wherever you may be. I have had the opportunity to work in multiple settings including psychiatric hospitals, outpatient centers, autism clinics, private practice, a school, & a non-profit agency; this has led me to tailor my counseling techniques for each unique individual in their environment. We’ll go at your pace, and I’ll meet you with honesty and care. If that sounds like what you need, you're in the right place.
I am a compassionate therapist committed to guiding AAPI and BIPOC women through the challenges rooted in cultural values, family conflicts, anxiety, depression, exploring intersectionality, and intergenerational trauma. As a South Asian American, I bring a culturally sensitive approach that fosters a connection with my clients. As a therapist, I utilize Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy to support individuals in processing and overcoming the impact of traumatic experiences. Trauma is not always the byproduct of significant life altering events but can occur from small events like chronic stress, bullying, discrimination, dysfunctional family dynamics, microaggression, and constant exposure to challenging situations. EMDR involves a structured approach, helping clients identify and reframe/reprocess negative beliefs and emotions associated with past traumas. I also utilize therapeutic frameworks as Humanistic Person-Centered approach, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Strengths Based approach. I will be someone who listens, assists you to identify your goals, and empowers you along the therapeutic process. I will provide you with a non-judgmental, confidential safe space for you to express all you wish to share.
