Dr. Galatia Cepeda
Hi, I'm Dr G. You're likely here because you're feeling alone, stuck, hurting, or overwhelmed...I get it. My niche is working with the unique mental health concerns that affect marginalized/minoritized, first generation/immigrant, LGBTQ, non-traditional, and migrant college student populations. I have worked in multiple clinical settings and at several universities (including UC, Berkeley, Cal State University, Long Beach, Idaho State University, and Saint Edward's University in Austin, TX) with a diverse range of clients and presenting concerns. I have extensive training incorporating CBT strategies in treatment and providing trauma-informed care for concerns like anxiety, depression, life transitions, homesickness, and navigating complex relationships.
I work to build trust with my clients in order to form a collaborative dynamic that focuses on growing self-understanding while building tools to meet therapeutic goals. The specific approach I use is grounded in evidence-based treatments, empathy, and a multicultural perspective that honors how identities and social contexts shape our experiences.
Ready to shift things up?...I’d be excited and humbled to be a part of your process.
