College can be a time of both high demand and high reward. It's a time where we find independence, our passions, new friendships, and more... all while being challenged in a way we haven't been before. This is a transition that warrants a support system to help us through. Whether it be daily life stress, deeper traumas you have endured, or anything in between, my role in this support system is to be here as a resource for you in your therapeutic journey. I look forward to working together to shed light on your strengths, increase self-understanding, and empower you through any hardships. Let's connect!
The Understory Group was founded around one guiding principle: We are at our best when we grow together. As therapists, we're not interested in seeing our clients as a list of symptoms, problem behaviors, or diagnoses--we're interested in working with individuals, families, and resilient survivors who have trusted us with their stories. We approach our work through an anti-oppressive lens with a particular focus on providing quality care to the LGBTQ+ community. A vibrant and thriving ecosystem can only exist when it creates space for diversity, adaptation, and community. Let's create a beautiful understory.

If so, I can help; I work with young adults to help them overcome their anxiety and past trauma to get unstuck and live their lives to the fullest. I am a licensed marriage and family therapist who likes to provide a positive and non-judgmental space for clients to express themselves and recognize their own power for change. Through my time in the mental health field, I have learned the importance of meeting a client where they’re at in their treatment process and supporting them in their personal goals. I like providing a relaxed therapeutic environment through therapeutic activities and sometimes even light humor. I typically use a combination of family systems theories and motivational interviewing. Through the use of a systemic approach, it allows me to connect with my clients and understand their family system and communication patterns. I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR) to support clients in addressing trauma. Outside my role as a therapist I enjoy spending time with my husband, new daughter and rescue dog, especially taking walks and exploring new places. I also love traveling, challenging myself with Peloton classes and playing volleyball. When it is time to relax, I like watching Netflix, Disney+ and reality shows.
