Maybe you are trying to understand your pain, and what you can do about it. Sometimes you might feel empty and numb, or you might feel flooded with overwhelming and difficult feelings. You may have tried to make changes, but you see the same problems coming up again and again in your relationships. Maybe you long to find a sense of meaning, and to feel fully alive. Healing will mean challenging yourself to sit with painful feelings and face your fears. It will be helpful for you to find a safe place to do this hard work. Together, we can make your recovery and growth a priority. I like to work with adults who are experiencing depression, anxiety, emotional concerns, or relationship difficulties. I am committed to providing warmth, support, and challenge to build deep collaborative relationships that yield lasting results. Your struggles, experiences, and feelings are real. They deserve space, attention, and care. I am glad you are looking for help. If you are ready to reach out, leave a voicemail or email me at scottwrightphd@gmail.com to set up a free 15-minute phone consultation. PVD Psychological Associates (PVD Psych) is a private psychology practice on the East Side of Providence, Rhode Island. Our mission is to provide the greater Rhode Island area with exceptional therapy, offering cutting edge and research-supported treatment by a team of highly trained therapists. We offer therapy for adults, college students, and adolescents struggling with anxiety, school/career concerns, eating disorders, infertility and women's health issues, and relationship difficulties. PVD Psych is a LGBTQIA-affirmative practice, and is one of few Blue Cross Blue Shield of Rhode Island LGBTQ Safe Zone certified providers. We strongly believe that everyone has the right to respectful and affirming, high quality care. My areas of specialization and interest include: women's issues, depression, anxiety, stress management, and working with LGBTQIA-identified individuals and family members. I practice primarily from a relational-dynamic perspective, though I also incorporate techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and narrative approaches to address and tailor treatment to the unique and individual needs of each client. In my work as a therapist, I focus on understanding early experiences and how psychological well-being can be fostered through relationships. I believe change and healing come through relationships: our relationships with ourselves, as well as our relationships with others. I view therapy as a collaborative process that allows both therapist and client to grow and change. My clients describe me as an empathetic, active listener who approaches their concerns with caring, respect, pragmatism, and sometimes, humor. I'm honored that you're considering working with me and I would be happy to answer any questions that you may have. Please feel free to contact me.

Something worthwhile to remember is that it is your first time living. A lot of the skills to help us lead the happiest and healthiest life aren't taught to us and have a pretty steep learning curve. Therapy is about meeting you where you are and creating an understanding of what your mind is doing and why your body is responding the way it is. Whether you just want to brush up on coping skills or deep dive into patterns you recognize but can never seem to break, there's a place for you in therapy!

Hi! My name is Samantha Fontana, a licensed mental health counselor at Spotless Mind Mental Health Counseling. I collaboratively work with young adults and adults to improve their mental health by utilizing an integrated and evidence-based treatment approach. Psychodynamic talk therapy, CBT, DBT, ERP, and psychoeducation are just a few of the treatment approaches that I incorporate, as I believe therapy should be individualized for you. You may feel stuck sometimes, have trouble understanding your emotions, or need some help sorting out your thoughts, but the good news is you do not have to do it alone. Mental health affects every part of your life, and I am here to provide a safe, empathetic, and judgement-free space to explore and express what you are experiencing. It is important to talk about your feelings and experiences, and by examining them together, we can address any concerns regarding anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, or negative thoughts, to name a few. We can then work on building coping skills to help you deal with life’s stressors. I look forward to helping guide you along your journey to a happier and healthier mental well-being.

If you're feeling stuck in cycles you can't quite explain and want to understand yourself more fully, I can help. With over 20 years in clinical practice, I provide psychotherapy and assessment for adults with anxiety, depression, and ADHD. My psychotherapy approach is psychodynamic, mindfulness-based, and trauma-informed. Together, we will explore how your symptoms may have developed as adaptations to difficult life experiences, identify recurring patterns and discover where change is possible. Part of our work is developing a way of listening that tunes in not only to what is being said but also to what remains unspoken. I provide personality and adult ADHD assessments. In my view, assessment is not simply a way to assign a diagnosis, but an opportunity to answer longstanding questions and recognize strengths alongside patterns that may be keeping you stuck. I have a particular interest in working with adults from immigrant backgrounds. Living between cultures can leave you feeling unsure where you belong or wondering how to stay true to yourself while remaining connected to your family and community. I offer a culturally attuned and respectful space where these experiences can be explored with self-compassion.
