Are you unmotivated by everyday tasks and struggle to find where you belong in your social group? When you look in the mirror, do negative thoughts such as “I’m not enough” or “I feel hopeless” roam inside your brain? Do you find yourself freezing up in social situations, wishing you knew how to react? In a society plagued by institutional racism, gender inequalities, and generational differences, it is common to feel disheartened, anxious, and angry at ourselves and the world around us. By reaching out and prioritizing self-care, we can create a safe space to process difficult emotions and learn to manage your reactions.
Suffering from anxiety can be like falling into quicksand, the more you fight it, the deeper you sink. Do you feel lost in your struggle with anxiety or find it difficult articulate how you are feeling? Perhaps you tend to take care of others but can’t figure out how to take care of yourself? I believe you have the power within to change your life story and psychotherapy is the tool to help you lift yourself up. Imagine being the author and the main character in your life story, with the ability to create change and move towards a more meaningful life. Narrative therapists like me use stories as a vehicle for healing, as the way we all experience life is largely defined by our own internal narrative. Sometimes, other people or negative events can write chapters in our life’s story. My goal is, through open and trusting dialogue, to help you reauthor your story, take control of your narrative, and heal. I know personally how vulnerable it can be to look for help. That’s why I bring optimism, hope, perseverance, and compassion to my clinical work and will walk alongside you in your journey to greater insight, self-awareness, and growth. I am currently accepting new clients, so when you are ready, reach out and see if we would be a good fit to work together!

I hope to work with you, and meet you where you are in your struggles. Looking forward to our journey to your wellness together!
For 30+ years, I've helped adults recover from complex trauma, developmental and attachment trauma, narcissistic and psychopathic abuse, addictive disorders, emotional neglect and chronic relationship difficulties. My clients are insightful, motivated individuals struggling with codependency, dissociation, or the lasting effects of childhood trauma. Through trauma-informed psychodynamic therapy we identify and transform the survival patterns that once protected you but now limit your life. Healing fosters regulation and safety, allowing the parts of yourself exiled by fear, neglect, betrayal, and chronic adaptation to be reclaimed. I integrate psychodynamic, relational, and trauma-informed therapy with attachment theory, somatic awareness, neuroscience, mindfulness, and spiritual exploration. My goal is not simply symptom relief, but helping you create a cohesive, authentic life aligned with your deepest values and fullest potential. Therapy is a collaborative process grounded in curiosity, compassion and respect. Together we excavate the deeper origins of your emotional suffering while developing practical tools for nervous system regulation, healthier relationships, and lasting change. Even when trauma has shaped your life new patterns of safety, connection, and vitality can emerge.

Whether you’re a New Yorker studying away from home or a Virginian trying to find your footing, I’m here to help you manage the transition. I’ve spent the last three years helping people navigate life’s biggest shifts. I know that being a student isn't just about grades—it’s about managing relationships, setting boundaries with family, and figuring out who you are when the old labels don't seem to fit anymore. I bring a grounded, practical perspective to our sessions (with a touch of wit) to help you move from feeling stuck to feeling capable. I specialize in: Relationship Navigation: Modern dating, roommate friction, and family dynamics. Anxiety & Perfectionism: Silencing the "not enough" voice. Life Transitions: Moving, career pivot anxiety, and identity shifts. I offer a space where you can be completely yourself—no "clinical mask" required. Let’s work together to build a toolkit that actually works for your life, not just your syllabus.

From a young age, I felt driven by a deep curiosity about the inner worlds of others. Our inner world is uniquely shaped by our individual lived experiences, making each of us distinct in how we perceive and navigate life. I aim to foster a space that allows for the exploration of how one's lived experiences shapes identity, contribute to repeating patterns and impacts our relationship with ourselves and others. With a warm, collaborative and non-judgmental approach, I support clients in navigating challenges such as anxiety, depression, life transitions, self-esteem, identity and interpersonal relationships. Blending psychodynamic, relational and DBT practices along with mindfulness techniques, I strive to create a safe space for exploration and growth. With extensive experience supporting adults and students in both private and public mental health settings, I bring a rich and diverse perspective to the therapeutic process. To me counseling is a delicate and committed process that involves honoring each client's experience and working together to expand self-awareness and connection.
