Kelsey offers treatment from a strength-based, collaborative approach which provides clients the tools and strategies to adjust to life’s challenges. She believes her clients are the experts in their lives, and is passionate about walking alongside them to find freedom from past pain and hope for the future. As a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist, one goal is to assist the client in becoming aware of inaccurate or negative thinking patterns so they can assess challenging situations more clearly, and respond to them in a more effective, healthier way. Other aspects of CBT include: identifying ways to manage emotions, learning coping techniques, practicing communication skills, and interpersonal conflict resolution.
Are you interested in feeling calmer, more relaxed and better able to take on life's stressors? Everyone is different which is why I utilize a holistic approach, taking the time to figure out what works best for you. Some of the therapeutic techniques I find helpful are mindfulness and parts work. For those in the Missoula Area - At Nature in mind, I offer therapy outdoors! Time outdoors has been proven to reduce mental health issues such as anxiety, decrease stress and increase attention and focus (and this is all before any therapeutic intervention). Get away from the grind and immerse yourself in beautiful surroundings. These sessions take place a short distance outside Missoula in Clinton. For those outside of the Missoula area - I offer telehealth sessions and bring in similar therapeutic techniques as I do in my outdoor sessions.

I work with individuals (children, teens, and adults), couples, and families. I practice therapy from a person-centered and anti-oppressive orientation. To me this means it is my job to create a safe, supportive, and healing environment for you to share your stories and struggles. You are the leader of your therapy and I will embrace whatever content you choose to bring to our sessions. I focus on empathic understanding, compassion, and emotional processing. I believe we cannot separate ourselves and our mental health from the systems of oppression and power that exist in our society. Regardless of race, gender, sexuality, socioeconomic location, or ability - we are impacted by our individual experiences and I welcome conversations about how your identity has impacted your life, should you find it relevant.I utilize active listening and reflecting to help you fully understand your own thoughts, feelings, and experiences. I support you through your personal growth process. I aim to help you develop a healthy sense of self, explore your emotions, and find meaning. I take your experience in therapy seriously and will do my best to provide the environment you need at this point in your healing journey.

Are you finding it hard to enjoy the things you love, like school, hobbies, or because of your anxiety? Do you feel like your anxiety is getting in the way of your relationships, and causing physical symptoms like headaches or stomachaches? The good news is that with the right support and tools, you can learn to manage your anxiety and start living a more fulfilling life. I know how important it is to feel like your therapist is on your side and understands what you're going through. When you're struggling with anxiety, it can be hard to feel like anyone else really gets it. My goal is to provide a safe and supportive space. At the heart of my approach is an understanding that our thoughts and beliefs have a powerful impact on our emotions and reactions. Sometimes, we're not even aware of the thoughts we're having or how they're influencing us. Let's explore how your thoughts and beliefs are contributing to your anxiety. We'll identify any negative self-talk that may be holding you back, and work to reframe those thoughts in a more positive and helpful way. By gaining a deeper understanding of your thought patterns and learning to change them, you'll be better equipped to manage your anxiety and build a more fulfilling life.
