Therapists for college students near University of Montana
ManMade Mentors is a Bozeman, Montana based therapy practice that serves college students. There are multiple points in life from adolescence to adulthood and beyond where you lose course and grow unsure of the next best step. When symptoms like anxiety and depression take hold, they can obscure your path forward. Though it is important to address these symptoms, we put the greatest focus on what is beneath. We believe that once you identify what you want, know what stands in your way, and how to overcome obstacles, you are motivated to work toward your goals. We help clients get unstuck in the areas where they struggle, whether they are personal, school, interpersonal, or career challenges. Our office provides a space where you can be heard, validated, challenged, and encouraged. Our team has a diverse background having worked in wilderness therapy, school, boarding school, group home and community health center environments. We have helped clients confront difficulties associated with depression, anxiety, drug use, trauma, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and more. The most important piece of our approach is relationship development. Our goal is to create a strong and trusting connection, so you want to share, explore, and grow with our help. Instead of sitting across from you, we walk side by side.
Offering therapy sessions in-person from my office in West Arvada, and convenient virtual sessions from anywhere in CO, MT, VT, ID and FL! The jump into adulthood is a wild ride. Even if you seem like you’ve “got it together,” there’s a lot happening—new social circles, changing relationships, big life decisions, and school or work stress that can feel like… a lot. It’s normal to need extra support while figuring out who you are and how you want to show up in the world. I create a safe, judgment-free space where you can talk it out, process what’s going on, and actually feel heard. We’ll work on developing effective coping strategies, building your confidence, learning how to set boundaries, and communicate effectively with those in your life. Sometimes it’s easier to open up to someone outside your everyday life—someone who can help you see things from a different angle without the drama. I have extensive experience working with diverse populations of children and young adults, and I’m passionate about helping people overcome obstacles and thrive. My approach is empathetic, nonjudgmental, and honest. I strive to meet people exactly where they are and support them in moving toward their goals. I grew up in Vermont, lived in Hawai‘i, NYC, and Denver and now call Whitefish, Montana home. When I’m not working, you’ll find me hiking in the mountains, relaxing at the lake, at a live show, or hanging out with my rescue dog, Hendrix.
Wow, being in college can be an intense and stressful period of life. There can be so many factors to juggle and it may feel hard to find any semblance of balance in your life! This can also be a time when there is an abundance of exploration - exploration of your environment, peer relationships, living arrangements, and of yourself. Here at Bozeman Counseling Center, we believe in giving you tools to help you empower yourself and in discovering your authentic Self together. Having a safe comfortable space to be yourself is important at any time of life, but especially crucial when stress levels are high. Feel free to make yourself a hot cup of tea at our office and take off that "mask" you may find yourself wearing around others. We are so excited to meet you! Please reach out via phone or email to check us out and see if we feel like a good fit for you. We offer both in-person and telehealth sessions to our clients.
Welcome! My approach to counseling is grounded in connection, curiosity, and care. I support individuals in exploring who they are—both past and present—so they can build deeper relationships with themselves and others. I believe that healing happens in relationship, and I invite clients into a collaborative space where we can gently uncover and care for the parts of you that may feel hidden, hurt, or misunderstood. I work through a trauma-informed and relational lens, paying close attention to how past experiences—both personal and generational—can shape how we move through the world today. Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, PTSD, challenges in relationship, or navigating life transitions, I’ll meet you where you are with compassion and respect. I’m passionate about holding a space where people of all backgrounds, identities, and experiences feel seen, safe, and supported. Reaching out for therapy is a big step, and I’m honored to walk alongside you as you move toward healing, growth, and greater self-understanding.

College can feel like a lot sometimes—classes, deadlines, relationships, and trying to keep up with everything at once. I help students slow things down, feel more grounded, and build practical tools to manage stress, emotions, and everyday challenges. Using CBT, I help students notice and shift unhelpful thought patterns like catastrophizing and self-blame. With DBT, I support emotional regulation, stress management, and healthier relationships. I also use CBTPlus trauma therapy to help reduce PTSD symptoms while supporting students in building confidence, self-esteem, and realistic goals that feel meaningful.
I specialize and am incredibly passionate about working with individuals who are experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, perfectionism, life transitions, low self-esteem, grief, behavioral issues, masculinity, and neurodiversity. Sometimes, we end up in places that feel stuck, not because we’re doing something wrong, but because we’ve had to adapt to how complex life, our relationships, and the expectations around us are. I believe people are wired for connection and naturally driven to grow. When you have a relationship you can trust and space to explore without judgment, things begin to shift. That’s what therapy offers.
Sweetgrass believes in the notion that every person is the expert on themselves. We just happen to be the experts on psychology. When we combine our expertise, our therapists and clients unlock the client’s dormant potential, find new (healthier) ways of engaging with loved ones, and move a step or two closer to brightness. Truth-be-told, our therapists are often changed by the power of the work we do and humbled by our clients’ bravery, strength, and determination. We all consider ourselves to be so lucky to get to do this work and we would love the opportunity to work with you. Each clinician at Sweetgrass is as unique as our clients. We all have different histories, training, personalities, and values and our individuality shines through in our work. Megan, our Director of Client Services, is available to answer questions or help you find the right therapist. We also invite you to browse through our team profiles to see if you think you see someone who might be able to help you get to where you’d like to be.

I have been practicing as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) for 8 years. I started my counseling career at Youth Dynamics Inc. I learned to meet youth where they are at and work together to help them gain confidence to overcome the challenges they face. I also have work with adults navigating the waves of life individually and in relationships. In all circumstances I have helped those experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, oppositional defiance, divorce, personality disorders, couples counseling, marriage counseling, and victims of trauma. Some additional information about is I am currently retired from the United States Army. I was enlisted on Active Duty for 4 years from 2004-2008 and then started my endeavor becoming an office in the Army Reserve through ROTC. I was a company commander where listening to soldiers is what prompted me to move toward Army Chaplaincy. My passion is to support, navigate, and overcome challenges others face together.

Therapy can be a space that’s just yours—somewhere to slow down, sort through what’s on your mind, and get to know yourself more clearly. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or just trying to figure out who you are and where you’re going, you don’t have to do it alone. There’s no one “right” way to be in therapy—together, we’ll find an approach that fits you and what you need right now, while keeping in mind where you want to grow. I bring a compassionate and curious approach, and I’m not afraid to gently challenge you when it’s helpful. We might look at patterns in your relationships, habits, or thoughts to better understand what’s underneath them—and create meaningful, lasting change. I work with college students and young adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD and other neurodivergent experiences, relationship stress, and questions around identity, culture, and spirituality. Starting therapy can feel like a big step—whether it’s your first time or not. I offer a free 30-minute consultation (video or in person) so we can get to know each other and see if it feels like a good fit.
