At Heartfelt Healing, I tend to connect most with students who are thoughtful, caring, and often hard on themselves. You might be the one others rely on, the responsible friend, the high achiever, the one who “has it together,” while quietly feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or unsure inside. Many of the students I work with are navigating big life shifts such as starting college, adjusting to independence, healing from a breakup, questioning relationships, or trying to find their footing in who they are becoming. Some are working through body image struggles, disordered eating patterns, family stress, or the pressure to meet expectations. Others simply feel stuck, disconnected, or exhausted from constantly overthinking. If you’re considering therapy but don’t have clear goals or the “right words” yet, that’s completely okay. You don’t need to have everything figured out before reaching out. Sometimes the first step is simply knowing something doesn’t feel quite right and being open to exploring it in a supportive, nonjudgmental space. We can figure the rest out together.

I have been working with individuals of all ages for the past 10 years to assist in alleviation of symptoms that are causing disruption in day-to-day functioning and assisting in improving their overall quality of life. Together we can work toward healing of past hurt and trauma, and move forward to life filled with happiness and hope. I am primarily setting up this profile to be available to MSU students that have recently experienced trauma and are in need of support. I have day time availability currently and would be happy to offer assistance whether it be for the short-term, or longer term therapy care. All of my sessions are virtual/online. Please feel free to reach out to me directly at (248) 266-4756 by text or phone call (it is HIPAA compliant) if interested in my help.

College can be exciting, but it can also feel overwhelming. Many of the students I work with are trying to figure out their career path while also managing stress, anxiety, or feeling down. You might be questioning your major, worrying about the future, struggling with social anxiety, or feeling pressure to keep everything together while balancing school and life. I work best with college students who want a supportive place to talk through what they’re experiencing and learn practical ways to cope with stress, anxiety, and uncertainty about their next steps. Together, we focus on helping you feel more confident in your choices, manage difficult emotions, and build skills that make college—and life beyond it—feel more manageable.

Prior to Covid-19 I began working with telehealth and moved towards seeing everyone from their own home to remove the barrier of the commute. Additionally I see people living in rural areas for specific needs such as gender dysphoria. My experience includes addressing trauma/PTSD, substance use/abuse and recovery, anxiety, depression, transgender and gender dysphoria, and LGBTQ+ issues for adolescents and adults as an ally. You can easily request and schedule our first appointment or phone consultation by reaching out today - preferably by email.

Let’s be honest. Life gets real sometimes. Things happen and we can wind up feeling stuck, lost, or hopeless. To top it all off, we often feel pressured to put on a brave face and weather the storm. It’s for these reasons that I founded Sunshine Counseling. You deserve a space where you can be yourself, where you don’t have to hide, and where you can safely process life. Truth be told, I named my therapy practice after a mug my friend gave me which sarcastically declares, "I am a ray of freaking sunshine!" This cheeky little mug actually encapsulates my world view. It is not all sunshine and rainbows. And that's ok. I tailor my approach to individuals, their needs, and their state of change. I believe that therapy is all about relationships and I want to aid others in having a healthy relationship with themselves that can then translate to having one with the people they choose to hold in their lives. Reaching out for support is a big step. Snaps for making it to this point. When you are ready, let's connect to schedule a free consultation. If I’m not the right fit for you or do not have the particular training or expertise to assist you, I will provide you with alternative referrals.

Ocean Township, NJ

I am a licensed clinical psychologist (in the states of Michigan, New Jersey, New York, and Ohio) who has been practicing for over 10 years. I have years of experience working with college students as I am a former College Counseling Center Director and worked in counseling centers as well as have seen college students in my private practice. I have years of experience providing both clinically and culturally competent therapy (meaning I collaborate with students to address topics they want to in therapy using tools/strategies that have been proven helpful and I take into consideration a student's various social identities and how that may impact how they experience the world). I find that I work well with students who are working through life transitions, adjustments, relationship stressors, experiencing anxiety(including those who experience social anxiety) depression, a desire to increase their self-esteem, racial trauma, or are in need increasing their overall coping skills.

We believe that you are the master of your own life, and we believe that therapy is a joint process that we can navigate together. We cannot "fix" you or tell you what you "should" do. The journey is yours. We can be a support, and provide a safe space. We can guide you in learning and using tools which will allow you to better manage your symptoms and create and maintain healthy boundaries with yourself and others. The tools you learn and develop while you are going through your therapeutic journey are meant to also allow you to improve your ability to self-soothe, create and maintain healthier boundaries in your relationships, make decisions more effectively, and to better support, assert, and advocate for yourself once therapy ends. You are capable. Our mission is to provide more accessible services to underserved clients, particularly in the LGBTQIA+ community, folx with neurodivergence, racial and ethnic minorities, and for other underserved populations who lack access to in-person services, or lack access to counselors competent in these areas due to living in areas that are smaller, more rural, or more conservative.
