Are you feeling stuck? Or perhaps anxiety, fear, other emotions, or memories are preventing you from being your true self? Asking for help can feel intimidating, and at the same time everyone needs help at some point in their life. I am glad you are starting this process. I am here to work together with you on your concerns, issues, or perhaps the much needed space of a listening ear. I find it can be difficult to vocalize our emotions, share our story, or be our true selves due to many underlying emotions.

In 2015, I began my own therapy journey, and it truly transformed my life. Understanding myself better and gaining awareness of why I respond the way I do gave me a sense of control and empowerment that I had never experienced before. For the first time, I realized that I could change how I show up in my daily life, how I respond to challenges, and how I engage in relationships. This profound experience inspired me to pursue a master's degree in clinical mental health counseling, so I could help others feel the same sense of empowerment and growth. I prioritize creating a space where my clients feel heard, seen, and validated. When they're ready, I gently challenge them to increase their self-awareness, shift their perspectives, and focus on what they can control. My approach is rooted in compassion and understanding, and I use a combination of person-centered therapy, CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to help my clients process trauma, manage anxiety, and build healthier thought patterns.

You are insightful, sensitive, and often hard on yourself — even when no one else sees it. Maybe you’ve learned to cope by staying busy, staying strong, or staying small. But beneath the surface, you’re longing for more: more peace, more connection, more truth. I work with college students navigating anxiety, trauma, self-worth, relationship struggles, and life transitions

I work best with students who feel overwhelmed by the pressure to keep everything together on their own. Many of my clients are juggling classes, relationships, family expectations, and their own mental health, and they're tired of pretending they're fine. I especially connect with students navigating anxiety, burnout, perfectionism, or big transitions like starting college, switching majors, or returning to school after time away. Clients often come in feeling stuck, stressed, or unsure of what they want, but they're also thoughtful, motivated, and ready for a space where they don't have to perform. If you're someone who wants support untangling what's working, what's not, and how to move toward a life that feels more balanced, grounded, and genuinely yours, we'll be a great fit.

There’s no guidebook for life. It’s easy to feel like you’re falling short when you’re just trying to get through the day. Maybe you’re feeling exhausted, overwhelmed or unmotivated, but continue pushing yourself because you believe there’s no other option, all the while feeling that you’re never measuring up. It might feel like a foreign concept to slow down and listen to what you truly need in each moment, but with the right support, making this shift is possible, and it might give you the relief you need. I’ll focus on helping you learn to be kind and compassionate toward yourself so that you can start living your life from a place of “already enough,” and begin taking actions that truly support your well-being. Sometimes, learning to accept yourself as you are is the first step toward meaningful change. Together, we can explore what might be getting in the way of becoming the person you want to be. I'm here to help you learn how to embrace the person you already are to create the life you desire. If this feels like the right path for you, I’d love to explore working together.

“With adversity comes opportunity” from the I Ching- Or Book of Changes The decision to seek therapy can be due to times of stress or the desire to seek change. We know that change is not always a straight path. To take a “road less traveled” can be filled with a beautiful river that flows and leads to clarity or it be a be a river filled with large boulders that need to be traversed with help and support. Therapy can be a tool that facilitates resilience and transformation. My approach in therapy is to first engage in a process of discovery. As your therapist, we will work together to discover what events, situations, and relationships in your life or your past do not work for you now. It is really important to understand how your life works in order to set goals and create change. Most importantly, it is important to remember that change affects all the people in your life. I am passionate about my work and aim to build a collaborative partnership with my clients, fostering transformation, fulfillment, and growth. I believe in establishing trust and letting the present moment guide the therapeutic process. I work toward developing a deeper understanding of how our body sensations, mind, and emotions shape our sense of well-being. Throughout my 25 years of experience, I have worked with a wide range of counseling and therapy modalities. I'm bilingual in English and Hebrew and can offer services in both languages. One of the most important elements of therapy is finding the right fit. To explore whether working with me feels right for you, please email me at ornapele@gmail.com. My expertise is in helping people change how they feel or behave using evidence-based therapy and guidance. I focus on building a trusting relationship in which you feel open to discuss and work on whatever aspects of your life that you are hoping to change. People tell me they quickly feel at ease talking with me. Together we assess what feelings, thoughts or behaviors you would like to change or feel differently about or how you would like a relationship to be different. We make goals together to guide this process. I then guide you on how to make these changes, sustain them, and assess when you have attained them.

"Finding that there is more to life, beyond food and fear" . . . is the heart of my therapeutic philosophy. Most of my clients live in fear around how much food they eat . . . or do not eat. Their relationship with food has devolved into one of pain and hiding versus pleasure and health. I use a Gestalt approach which gives voice to a person’s two conflicting parts: the part wanting to hold onto the old, comfortable eating patterns and their "benefits", and the part yearning to let go for permanent growth and healing. Clients ultimately can reach a place where they discover choice, freedom and a healthy relationship with food. What I offer, that is different, is a no-frills, direct approach . . backed with over 20 years of extensive counseling practice and hands-on experience working with a wide continuum of mental health and addictions issues. My approach works for many clients as I truly believe that effective counseling deals with "unfinished business" and patterns from our past, which play out in our lives today. Once identified and challenged, clients can then find "choice" and make the key changes that will truly sustain into the future. Most people who contact me are already aware that they are doing their best AND that something is not working and needs to change. Are you up for a change? Please note, I do not accept insurance through my private practice but you can find me on the Sondermind platform to potentially use your insurance.

I specialize in supporting individuals from Asian, Asian American, and multicultural backgrounds who navigate bicultural or multicultural experiences. Additionally, I work with individuals who identify as Highly Sensitive Persons (HSPs) or Empaths and have experienced childhood relational trauma. I offer contemplative somatic psychotherapy and coaching services. Contemplative somatic psychotherapy and coaching are integrative approaches that combine mindfulness, body-based practices, and talk therapy to explore the mind-body connection. This therapeutic method focuses on understanding how emotions and experiences are stored in the body and utilizes techniques to promote healing, self-awareness, and personal growth.

It's nice to meet you! My name is Erica (she/her), and I am a queer therapist working with students who struggle with disordered eating, relationship wounds, anxiety, and substance use. Are you searching for relief from constantly critiquing what you eat or what your body looks like? Then this is the space for you. Are you tired of feeling as though you aren't good enough? Or perhaps you've realized that you're coping with stress in ways that make you think "this isn't me...". Then this too, is the space for you. Many of my clients are college students who are seeking to find more internal stability, emotional regulation, and a deeper understanding and acceptance of who they are. Navigating college is difficult enough, and can feel even more overwhelming when you just can't seem to feel like you. Therapy can help you understand yourself better, feel more self-assured, and provide you with the tools to better manage internal and external stress. I offer a free 30 minute consultation so that we can meet and chat a bit more about how you need support. If you think we might be a good fit, I encourage you to reach out! Wishing you the best in wherever your mental health journey takes you.

Hey! My name is Elena, I use she/her pronouns, and I work with rebels, rioters, and revolutionaries. My practice is one that centers and celebrates authenticity, courageous exploration, and a collaborative, therapeutic relationship. In practice, this can look like taking the time to build trust and connection, pulling from a wide variety of modalities, and curiosity and silliness when needed (which I believe is often!) I have seen many therapists feel the need to rush into “fixing”; in my work, there is no rush and there is no “fixing”. Together, we will sit in the messy experience of being human; exploring and learning from our pain while uplifting and celebrating the joys. We will co-create your therapy experience, making it into whatever you need it to be in order to feel as safe as possible. I bring an anti-oppression and decolonization lens to the work of therapy, as this helps to ensure that I do my best to mitigate the harmful impacts of these systemic issues in the healing space. I will certainly make mistakes. I hope you do, too! These are opportunities for both of us to practice collective learning, unlearning, and healing. I believe that therapy is community. We may share certain identities and there will be those we do not share, yet it remains a community. Let's be in joyous community together!
