Therapists for college students near Colorado Christian University
The journey to find your true self looks different for each individual and it is my goal to join you specifically where you are and walk alongside you as you find your way to where you’d like to be. I work in both private practice counseling and neurofeedback having experience working with clients suffering from anxiety, depression, relationship problems, sleep issues, eating disorders, learning disabilities, self-exploration, and much more. It is the most incredible feeling to join the process of somebody finding themselves and understanding that they have the power to make positive and lasting changes in their lives. With an empowering & non-judgmental approach I utilize CBT & SFT with skills including motivational interviewing, mindfulness, & Adlerian therapy. In addition, I can incorporate neurofeedback which is a technology that maps a client’s brain & discovers dysregulation. We can then address specific brain-based causes for many emotional and behavioral issues. My mission is to create a collaborative, holistic, and healthy therapeutic relationship individualized for you. I am honored to be in the position to see growth and change in people as they take steps to improve their lives. Please call for a free 15 minutes consultation to see if we would be a good match.
Healing and growth takes place in the context of relationships - in our relationship with ourselves, and in our relationships with others. Unfortunately, our relationships can sometimes become distant, disconnected and a place of conflict, leaving us with unmet needs and just feeling “stuck.” We don’t feel safe asking for what we need, and maybe don’t even know what we need ourselves. The therapeutic relationship in counseling provides an authentic and safe place in which healing can begin to take place. My goal is to provide you with a space where you feel seen and heard; where you feel safe to explore your story and your experiences; a space where you can work through some of the hard things in a way that moves you towards a deeper sense of wholeness and connection. If you'd like to find out if this is a good place for you to address some of these things for yourself, reach out and we can schedule a free 15-minute consultation to see if it would be a good fit!
Welcome to my page! I love creating safe spaces for people to explore, heal, and navigate the hard dynamics of life. Life is hard, but you don't have to hold it alone. I have worked with College Students for the last 15 years, and currently a Therapist at local University here in Denver, specializing working with Performance Anxiety, neurodivergence, and with Athletes. I offer a free 15 minute consultation so if you'd like to try out what it would be like to do therapy with me, text, call or email me so we can set up a free 15 minute session!
You're probably here because there is a part of you that knows you were created for more. You were made for deeper connections, more freedom and laughter, a greater sense of purpose and fullness of life. Life is hard. And somewhere along the way we begin relating to ourselves and others from a place of fear and woundedness. We numb ourselves, make ourselves small, and hide the parts that we fear will be rejected. We get stuck in patterns of feeling unlovable, unworthy, afraid, and disconnected from joy. Therapy can help you realign with your true self and find compassion and healing for the parts that feel stuck.

I believe that meaningful change begins with acceptance, self-compassion, and a safe space to explore life's challenges. My therapeutic approach is centered on helping clients develop a deeper understanding of themselves while recognizing and building upon their inherent strengths and resilience. I strive to create a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel empowered to move toward their goals at their own pace. Together, we work to identify patterns, process difficult experiences, and develop practical tools that foster healing, growth, and lasting change. My work is grounded in evidence-based practices and tailored to meet each client's unique needs. I draw from a variety of therapeutic modalities, including cognitive and behavioral approaches, mindfulness-based interventions, and trauma-informed care. As an EMDR-trained therapist, I also utilize Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help clients process traumatic experiences, reduce emotional distress, and strengthen adaptive beliefs. Whether you are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, relationship challenges, or seeking greater self-understanding, I am committed to supporting you with compassion, collaboration, and respect throughout your therapeutic journey.
I have worked in college/university counseling centers for most of my career, and love serving both undergraduate and graduate students with a variety of mental health concerns.

We love to help in life transitions, to clean up the mental mess and believe it can be good again! I have specialty training in: Addiction, Domestic Violence, EMDR (for trauma, PTSD, addiction), Cognitive Behavioral & Narrative therapy. I can offer a dynamic counseling room where you are able to go to places you know you need to go but haven't quite been able to before. I believe I create a safe space to explore and heal.
At Real Therapists Group, we offer down-to-earth, relationship-focused therapy for couples, individuals, and families. Based in Denver and available online throughout Colorado, our team specializes in helping people reconnect, communicate more effectively, and navigate life’s challenges with clarity and support. Whether you’re navigating conflict, parenting stress, or just feeling stuck, we’re here to help you grow, not just cope.
A lot of the students I work with are trying to juggle classes, friends, family, a rigorous academic schedule, all the while trying to maybe work, eat well, get sleep, and figure out what’s next—and it can feel overwhelming. Some deal with stress, anxiety, or low mood, while others are navigating breakups, roommate issues, or just the pressure of having to “have it all together.” I tend to connect best with students who are open to talking things through, even if they’re not sure what they need yet. You don’t have to have the answers or know exactly what you want out of counseling—that’s something we can figure out together. I have worked in higher education prior to starting my private counseling practice, both at Colorado School of Mines and CU Boulder assisting students with their mental health and career direction - I understand the unique pressures students are under, specifically STEM students. It’s completely normal to feel lost or stuck at times. Having a space to talk it out, gain perspective, and feel supported can make a big difference. Feel free to reach out and I would be happy to discuss what unique challenges you may be facing and see if working together might be a good fit. Please reach out via Thriving Campus or on my website directly!
I focus on working with clients to recognize your inherent worthiness at work and within relationships, build trust in your inner wisdom, and integrate mindfulness and spirituality into your daily life. Whether you are coming out of a painful breakup, redefining your career path, navigating how to ask for what you need in partnership, or creating a kinder relationship with yourself, our work together can help you build self-confidence, self-awareness, and stress management techniques. My ideal client is someone who wants to embody their creative side, is curious about spirituality, and longs to step into their greatness. I specialize in mindfulness as a tool to build a more loving relationship with yourself. I bring an integrated head (concrete exercises you can practice between sessions) and heart (deeper understanding of self and how to relate differently with your thoughts and feelings) approach. If you’ve been thinking, “I want to trust myself. I want to trust my intuition/inner knowing. I want to love myself wholeheartedly - on the days I feel powerful and the days I feel small. I want to embody the badass human I was born to be.”- This work is for you.
We believe that everyone is inherently driven to heal and become the fullest version of themselves. By providing children, adolescents and young adults with support and unconditional acceptance, we allow them to become the leaders of their own healing journey. Play therapy for adults?! It may sound quirky, but the essential values of play therapy (connection, emotional expression, facing your challenges with unconditional support) lend themselves beautifully to anyone’s healing process, no matter your age. Young adulthood is a time of tremendous change and transition, but that doesn’t mean you have to sort through all of those challenges on your own. Therapeutic support can be immensely helpful as you really discover who you are, what you want, and how you want to be in the world. If you are interested in learning more about our services, for you or for your child, please feel free to reach out to us! We are happy to offer you a free 30-min consultation to answer any questions you may have.
College is like a pressure cooker of compounding transitions. On top of demanding coursework, you are likely navigating the intense world of identity exploration. This can mean a lot of things; from the deeply personal layers of discovering your sexual orientation and gender identity, to simply figuring out who you are as an individual and what you actually want out of romantic and sexual relationships. As a queer therapist, I intimately understand the unique difficulties of navigating these shifts. I have walked this path myself, personally navigating profound changes in my own sexual orientation and gender identity, and I know how isolating it can feel to explore these core parts of yourself while trying to maintain your GPA. It is incredibly common to feel stuck in a major or career track that feels entirely wrong, paralyzed by the fear of starting over. I know that panic firsthand. I spent years working as a software developer before a season of deep introspection and counseling gave me the courage to make a massive pivot. Today, I am in a field I love deeply; one that brings me genuine passion far beyond a paycheck. If you are feeling misaligned with your current path, I offer specialized career counseling to help you cut through the external expectations, decode your true strengths, and confidently identify a professional field that actually fits your authentic self. Whether you are drowning in academic stress, untangling painful relationship patterns, processing trauma, or facing a complete directional pivot, you do not have to figure it out alone. Together, we will address the practical mechanics of stress management while diving deep into the relational dynamics that keep you stuck. I provide an encouraging, explicitly inclusive, and safe space where no topic is too messy or taboo. Your college years can feel incredibly destabilizing, but our work together will help you build the self-trust and clarity needed to step out of survival mode and into a life that is genuinely, authentically your own.
