The heart of Being Alive Counseling is to journey with you through everyday issues, as well as deeper addictions and trials, towards wholeness and healing. Counseling is not an attempt to fix all of your problems but to journey through them together. Whatever is making you believe that life is not good (be it depression, life transition, a trauma, marital problems), Being Alive Counseling believes you can return to your source of joy and meaning. We love to help in life transitions, to clean up the mental mess and believe it can be good again!
I have specialty training in: Addiction, Domestic Violence, EMDR (for trauma, PTSD, addiction), Cognitive Behavioral & Narrative therapy. I can offer a dynamic counseling room where you are able to go to places you know you need to go but haven't quite been able to before. I will work with you to find a treatment plan that fits your specific goals and needs.
I believe in holistic healing in counseling and treatment. I believe that everything including finances, eating patterns, sleep cycles, family of origin, job satisfaction, nutrition, exercise, support system, as well as identity and sense of purpose are all integrated into the "why's" of our struggles. I believe I create a safe space to explore and heal.
