College can be an exciting time, but it can also bring new pressures, uncertainty, and challenges. I work with college students and young adults who are navigating ADHD, anxiety, depression, academic difficulties, life transitions, and questions about identity and belonging. Whether you are struggling to keep up with the demands of school, wondering if ADHD or autism may be affecting your life, adjusting to greater independence, or exploring your gender or other aspects of your identity, I provide a thoughtful and affirming space to better understand what is happening and what may help. My approach begins with listening. I take the time to understand you as a whole person rather than rushing to a diagnosis or treatment plan. Depending on your needs, I offer comprehensive psychiatric assessment, therapy, medication management, and adult autism evaluations. Together, we can develop a plan that supports both your mental health and your goals for the future.
Many of the clients I work best with are young adults navigating major transitions — starting college, adjusting to new expectations, exploring identity, building relationships, or trying to figure out what comes next. I previously worked at CU Boulder supporting students through the Early Intervention Program and Collegiate Recovery Community, and I understand many of the unique challenges that come with this stage of life. My approach combines traditional therapy with mindfulness and body awareness to help you better understand yourself, manage stress and anxiety, and build a stronger connection with your thoughts, emotions, and needs. Many people come to therapy understanding why they feel stuck but still struggling to create lasting change. Together, we’ll slow down, explore what is happening beneath the surface, and develop greater self-compassion, flexibility, and choice. If you're feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, stuck in old patterns, or simply wanting to better understand yourself, I’d be honored to support you. A free 20-minute consultation is an opportunity to see if working together feels like the right fit.
I work with the body and the nervous system to integrate difficult experiences and regulate ourselves from the bottom up. I love to work with the inner critic (aka self-criticism), the inner child (aka reactivity), and trauma (big and small). I am passionate about helping people get to know themselves, not just find a quick fix for symptoms.
Are you struggling to balance your needs within your relationships or at work/school? Do you have racing thoughts, feel overwhelmed, struggle to focus, or have difficulty sleeping? Do you lack motivation or have lost interest in things you used to enjoy, feel irritable, or isolate yourself? Do you want to develop more coping skills, learn to set boundaries, and be the best version of you? How differently do you think your life would be if you were able to do this? My name is Katie Crow (she/her), LISW-S, LCSW and I am a licensed clinical mental health therapist that works with residents in CO, OH, PA and TX. I specialize in working with adults who struggle to focus on the most important person in their life: YOU! My goal is to help you learn how to balance the different aspects of your life. Every person can heal and my role is to provide you with support, feedback, education, and therapy interventions so that you can. My counseling approach is collaborative and together we will: gain a better understanding and decrease anxiety & depression, focus on your needs, improve your relationships, confidently handle school stressors. Reaching out for counseling is courageous and the first step in the healing process. I look forward to being a part of your path to healing!

I am an integrative, trauma-focused, queer therapist dedicated to helping people understand themselves better. I particularly enjoy working with clients who want to be in more authentic, connected relationships with partners and family members, want to better understand how trauma has impacted their life and shed patterns that are no longer useful, or want to parent differently than they were parented. My areas of specialized training include interpersonal trauma and PTSD (sexual assault, childhood abuse, domestic violence), attachment and relationships, perinatal mental health, and infant/early childhood mental health. My approach is informed by an anti-oppressive, feminist, and identity-affirming lens. I hold a perspective that our systems and culture impact our sense of self and how we show up in the world. You know yourself best, and I am here to create a nonjudgmental space for you to bring your full self to learn and grow in the ways that are most important to you. I balance processing to better understand a root cause and change patterns with learning new skills. I view therapy as a collaborative partnership, welcoming feedback and showing up with warmth and authenticity, integrating humor and gentle challenging where appropriate. Hi everyone, I’m Amy, and I’m really glad you’re here. My approach to therapy is about creating a welcoming, nonjudgmental space where you can feel heard and supported. I’m trained in EMDR and also like to bring in approaches such as mindfulness, walking sessions, breath work, and practical skill-building, depending on what feels most helpful for you. I also draw from DBT, which stands for Dialectical Behavior Therapy. In real life, that means learning concrete tools for things like calming yourself when emotions feel overwhelming, communicating more effectively in relationships, and finding ways to balance school, life, and stress. These skills are all about helping you feel more in control and supported in the day-to-day challenges you face. I’m also a mom, and I have deep respect and admiration for young adults — I really value the unique perspectives you bring to the world. My goal is to walk alongside you as you navigate challenges, discover your strengths, and build tools that support your growth both now and in the future.
Are you experiencing stress, difficulty transitioning into the college environment, relationship issues or feeling new or chronic stress and anxiety? I am here to support you. When Your Brain Never Really Leaves Campus You can be successful in academia and still feel like you’re barely keeping up. Maybe you’re a graduate student staring at a dissertation you somehow both think about constantly and avoid opening. A faculty member juggling teaching, research, service, advising, and the nagging feeling that you should be doing more. Or a campus professional who spends the day supporting everyone else and gets home with very little left for yourself. You’re capable. You care deeply about what you do. And your brain is tired. The people I work with often recognize themselves in thoughts like: “My brain never shuts off.” “I’m always behind, no matter how much I accomplish.” “I overthink every email, decision, and piece of feedback.” “I know I need boundaries, but I feel guilty setting them.” “I’m exhausted, but resting makes me anxious.” “Everyone else seems to know what they’re doing.” “I keep thinking I should be able to handle this.” Therapy for Busy Brains in High-Pressure Academic Spaces I work with graduate and doctoral students, faculty, researchers, administrators, and campus professionals navigating anxiety, perfectionism, burnout, people-pleasing, ADHD-style busy brains, difficult transitions, chronic striving, and the pressure to continually perform. Academic environments can make it remarkably easy to confuse your productivity with your worth. There is always another paper to write. Another student who needs something. Another deadline. Another application. Another committee. Another email you could answer before stopping for the day. And when achievement has gotten you this far, doing more can start to feel like the answer to everything. Until it isn't. Insight Is Important. But Knowing Isn't the Same as Doing. You may already understand your patterns exceptionally well. You know you're overthinking. You know the boundary you probably need to set. You know rest would help. You know you can't guarantee the outcome. You know what you'd tell someone else in your exact situation. And then real life happens. That's where I work. My approach is warm, active, collaborative, and grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). We don't just talk about what you “should” do differently. We get curious about what's happening, reconnect with what matters to you, practice responding differently, notice what happens, and adjust. Expect curiosity, reflection, practical tools, real-life practice, honest feedback, and probably a little humor along the way. Support That Can Fit Academic Life I offer individual online therapy for personalized support and Walk & Talk Therapy for clients who think and process better while moving. I also offer Red Door Signature Groups for people who want a structured place to learn, practice, reflect, receive feedback, and try again around some of the patterns that keep high-achieving people stuck, including overthinking and uncertainty, people-pleasing and boundaries, and productivity and self-worth. Because sometimes you don't need another book, podcast, productivity system, or piece of advice. You need a place to practice what you already know when real life makes it hard. You Don't Have to Have It Figured Out Before You Reach Out You might be wondering whether your problems are “serious enough” for therapy. Or what you'd even talk about. Or how you're supposed to fit one more thing into a schedule that's already ridiculous. You don't need the perfect answer before taking the next step. I offer complimentary consultations so you can meet me, ask questions, and decide whether working together feels like the right fit. Small steps open big doors. My specialty is treating individuals with ADHD, anxiety, perfectionism, mild depression, stress, decisions about college majors, transitions, medical diagnoses (e.g., cancer, diabetes, struggles with weight, infertility, pregnancy loss). I use an integrated approach, but mostly Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). My theoretical orientation is based on the Biopsychosocial model. A little bit about me: I'm a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and I've been working in health care (mostly primary care) for about 9 years. In my free time, I enjoy being with my family & dogs and you'll typically find me hiking or somewhere outdoors.
In the role of therapist, my initial priority is creating the safety and familiarity that is crucial to do real work together. I look at the therapeutic process as an opportunity to work with the person coming to me in need of support, and tackle their issues as a team. I bring a nonjudgmental, open-minded approach to my clients and emphasize the importance of clients feeling secure enough to say anything they need to in the space we curate together. My approach has an emphasis on self-compassion and becoming in tune with your emotions and body. In today’s world, it is easier than ever to become disconnected from your body and feelings. My hope is that we can work together to reintegrate your inner wisdom to your conscious level of awareness.
I partner with clients to navigate life transitions, addressing challenges such as grief, loss, and anxiety. As an adept practitioner of EMDR therapy, I employ an eclectic and mindful approach to help individuals overcome trauma and align their lives with their values. Specializing as a relationship expert, I offer guidance to individuals and couples, focusing on enhancing communication skills and nurturing secure functioning relationships. Committed to LGBTQIA+ support, I maintain a sex-positive and body-positive stance, recognizing the transformative and healing potential inherent in each individual.
A tending space for LGTBQ+ and/or Neurodivergent individuals and couples and for folks with complex trauma. If you’ve learned to survive by shrinking, masking, or staying vigilant, you’re not broken—you adapted. Healing doesn’t require forcing change, but moving at the speed of trust and rhythm of safety with someone attuned alongside you. I am a trauma-informed, non-pathologizing therapist rooted in somatic, creative, and relational modalities where I help clients to cultivate nervous system safety and regulation, reconnect with their bodies and intuition, and reclaim their authenticity and agency, supporting them in living a more expressed, embodied, and expansive life.
Choosing a therapist is a deeply personal decision. It's important to find someone that you can relate to and most importantly someone that you trust. We will work together to create a secure relationship, where you begin to feel less alone experiencing emotional vulnerability. My capacity to truly see you, and your capacity to feel comfortable being seen, will be essential to your healing. It is my belief that lasting growth does not occur as a result of insight and understanding alone. Deep healing and change happen when you are able to explore new emotional experiences and to try new behaviors, in the presence of a supportive person (therapist). I work with adults and older adolescents to address old wounds, to increase self compassion and to develop increased emotional stability and flexibility. If you are interested in learning more about me and my practice, please visit my website or email/call to schedule a brief phone consultation.
