I am an incredibly passionate healing professional. I find that traditional psychotherapy can be powerful for some, but creating a truly safe and affirming environment is my top goal. Our culture is full of messages of what we are "supposed" to be. I fully believe in challenging those messages to become the people we are truly meant to be. When we are our most authentic self, we are the best gift we can be to the world. I'm here to help you challenge the barriers, beliefs, and behaviors that are keeping you stuck and dissatisfied with your current circumstances. I'm gentle, but honest and want you to feel supported in your change. I don't claim to have any answers for the human condition, but I will sit with you and find our way through it. You can do hard things, and I'm here to help you! As a mother, wife, sister, and queer woman, I have personally wrestled with issues of identity and want you to define what your best life can be for yourself. I believe "normal" is a setting on the dryer and is in no way aspirational. You are here to be you - a whole, healed, quirky, and complex person! I hope you will join me in exploring ways to be the best you that's possible! I look forward to supporting you on your healing journey to self!

Does this sound familiar? You want to feel confident about yourself and excited about the future, but instead you feel: Overwhelmed by the competing demands of school, work, and family. Paralyzed with indecision about choices in your life. Frustrated with well-meaning people who tell you what the “right choice” is Exhausted by the constant pressure, and unable to focus on what is important to you, leading to more anxiety You may be finding it difficult to eat, sleep, or enjoy life. It could be difficult to get out of bed in the morning. You may be falling behind at school or work. You may find it difficult to stop thinking about the things that are worrying you. It is hard to enjoy life in the present. The physical symptoms of anxiety, depression, and panic like nausea, shakiness, and insomnia can be extremely disruptive and debilitating in daily life. Together, we will explore the reasons you feel “stuck,” and identify tools you can use to decrease anxiety, depression and panic symptoms, and regain your self-confidence. I provide counseling for anxiety, depression, and panic using a genuine, warm, and empathetic style. I combine evidence-based therapy with an informal and authentic approach. My clients walk away from therapy with me knowing they are understood. They feel relief from overwhelming anxiety symptoms and more confident about themselves and the future. They have the tools they need to manage anxiety effectively, and they feel empowered to make their own choices without self-doubt and worry creeping in. You will feel more confident in yourself and your decisions. You will gain a deeper understanding of yourself. You won’t feel anxious or depressed all the time. You will have the tools you need to conquer anxiety and cope with stress in the future too! I respond to all emails within 2 business days. I look forward to hearing from you!

Licensed Professional Counselor
Sterling, VA

Welcome! My name is Ron Belotti. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Virginia, Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), and I have a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I work with a variety of different clients, and provide therapy services for both individuals and couples. Some of my areas of expertise include relational issues, trauma, infidelity, life transitions, sexuality, as well as sexual and intimacy issues. In addition to my specialties, I also see clients for issues related to stress, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and chronic illness. My approach to therapy is heavily focused on the connection between my clients. I tend to work best with late adolescents and young adults. In part I assume this is because I take a laid back approach to therapy, create an environment that promotes safety and comfort, and I guess also because I'm a rather cool therapist ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I used a variety of modalities, some evidence based to help my clients move through their presenting concerns. Ultimately what I have found most helpful however is providing a space where my clients are heard and seen. A place where they can talk about things they may not even want to share with their best friend, so that they can navigate their concerns in a confidential and non-judgmental space.

College can be one of the most exciting and overwhelming seasons of your life. You may be adjusting to being away from home, navigating new relationships, questioning your major, managing academic pressure, or quietly carrying anxiety, depression, or past trauma that hasn’t had space to heal. On the outside, it can look like everyone else is handling it just fine — but inside, you might feel stuck, exhausted, unmotivated, or unsure of who you’re becoming. If you’re in that space, you’re not alone. And you don’t have to work through it by yourself. I work with college students who are in the middle of real life transitions — identity shifts, relationship changes, academic stress, family expectations, grief, trauma, and the quiet weight of self-doubt. Depression during college often doesn’t look like “sad all the time.” It can show up as procrastination, isolation, low motivation, difficulty focusing, or feeling disconnected from the person you used to be. Trauma can show up in relationships, in trust, in sleep, or in how hard you are on yourself. Together, we slow things down. We make sense of what’s happening beneath the surface. We identify patterns that are keeping you stuck and build practical tools that help you feel more steady, confident, and grounded. My approach is collaborative and straightforward. I don’t believe in sitting back silently while you struggle to find words. We talk. We process. We challenge unhelpful thoughts. We work through emotional blocks. I integrate approaches such as CBT, trauma-informed care, and other evidence-based strategies to help you build resilience while honoring your story. My goal is not just symptom relief — it’s helping you understand yourself better so you can move forward with clarity and confidence. College is a time of growth — but growth can feel uncomfortable. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, numb, stuck, or unsure about your direction, therapy can be a space to reset and regain momentum. You deserve support as you figure out who you are and who you want to become. If you’re ready to take the next step, I invite you to Request an Initial Appointment and begin therapy. You don’t have to wait until things get worse. Let’s work together to help you regain balance, rebuild confidence, and move through this season with strength.

Licensed Professional Counselor
Blacksburg, VA

As your counselor, I’ll guide you through some of your toughest challenges in life with a gentle but “real” approach. Within our counselor-client relationship, I prioritize developing trust and openness, allowing you the freedom to share anything on your mind without fear of judgment or criticism. I enjoy helping others find freedom from anxiety and depression, build self-esteem and confidence, and feel great about being themselves! If it's helpful, I sometimes use hypnotherapy to help change habits or boost self-confidence. I also am an ASMR-practitioner, which means I can use ASMR in the counseling session, if the client chooses to, to facilitate a more relaxing session.

Sometimes we can find ourselves stuck in patterns that are making us unhappy because of how our past has wounded us! I work to build a safe and helpful space in therapy to help my clients face and work through the parts of themselves that are holding them back. I believe therapy is a collaborative work between my client and myself, in which we can work together to build goals and then work towards those goals. I have experience with clients going through life adjustments, anxiety, depression, marital strife, traumatic experiences, and personality disorders.
