Outside of therapy, I’m a mother, a military spouse, and a breast cancer survivor, so I deeply understand what it’s like to feel stretched thin and uncertain about the future. My own experiences have taught me how important it is to have someone in your corner—and that’s exactly what I aim to be for you. This Is Your Time I know it can feel scary to take that first step toward therapy, but I promise, it’s worth it. You don’t have to have it all figured out before reaching out—I’ll meet you where you are and walk alongside you as you figure it out. Therapy is about creating space to breathe, reflect, and grow. Our weight-obsessed culture chastises and shames you, as though your body size is not only a personal moral failing, but a reliable indicator of poor health. Over time, you started internalizing this anti-fat bias, and often treat yourself with the same level of contempt. You either avoid seeking medical care altogether, or expose yourself to the risk of weight stigma (far more harmful than any presumed adverse effect of your weight itself). You forgot how to nourish yourself – sometimes forbidding yourself food, sometimes isolating in shame for a binge, sometimes "paying" via purge. But friend, you are meant to bloom - not shrink. I know this may be difficult to believe right now, but you are already lovely, wise, and worthy of much more in life. I’ll hold that thought for you as you relearn it, and we use it as the foundation of our work. From there, we’ll integrate cognitive behavioral strategies with EMDR to gain insights from the present to heal your old wounds once and for all. You deserve to fully enjoy, nourish, and be at peace with your body. Learn to better understand your thoughts and emotions, and stop wasting energy on what others think. Explore the root causes of the shame you've been taught, and work to move past it – your deepest self longs to be known. Call me now for your free consultation, and let’s get started today!

I work with adolescents, teenagers, and adults who have experienced or are currently experiencing anxiety, depression, behavioral issues, negative thoughts, and relationship difficulties. I help clients to develop skills to manage or eliminate symptoms related to negative thoughts, mood disorders, personality disorders and more. I take the time to fully understand what’s going on in every situation, so our solutions reflect the whole picture, not just one piece. I am skilled at evaluating, diagnosing, and treating psychological and mental health disorders; providing direct, compassionate care to clients; and helping them recognize, and put into practice preventative measures. I am committed to understanding each client and creating treatment plans to set them up for long-term success. I use motivational interviewing, TF-CBT, DBT, and relaxation strategies to help clients regulate and improve daily functioning. I enjoy helping clients find solution oriented strategies, become self-aware, and identify negative thoughts or emotions.

Hi, Are you the ‘good’ daughter/son, the ‘good’ wife/husband, or the ‘good’ mother/father? Does your life look amazing from the outside but feels less than okay on the inside? It’s important that you have the support of someone who sees and understands you and who can respond to what you are going through. I want to help you discover why you are feeling the way you are, and more importantly, teach you the tools to help move you away from suffering, and towards inner peace. As your therapist I will be beside you every step of the way. Together we will navigate towards the joy, happiness, and self-acceptance you deserve. I specialize in brain-based therapies, such as Brainspotting; these specific modalities of treatment focus on the neurobiological variables (neuro networks) of each person to create change, specifically - neuro experiential change. Because understanding the why of behavior is not enough, for new behavior to be created new neural pathways need to be formed. I'm a bilingual in Spanish clinician with 20+ years of experience working in mental health with extensive training and credentials. However, I believe that you are the expert in your own inner world, and I am here to be a safe, grounding, and validating companion. “Nothing could ever be broken that we can't fix together" - Mirabel from Encanto
Inadequate. Incompetent. Undeserving. No matter what you do, you can’t get the thoughts to stop. You’ve put in the work. You’ve tried to think positive, be positive, be “happy,” but the thoughts still live in your head, rent-free, day after day, controlling your every move, saying, “Listen to me, I’m the captain now.” You’ve also given your all to your education, your career, and your relationships. You did everything you thought you were supposed to do. And yet, life isn’t getting any easier. Make it make sense! I specialize in helping those who are anxious and overwhelmed learn to recognize and honor their needs – that may mean: giving themselves permission to slow down, scale back, set healthy boundaries, go after what they truly want, and be themselves (unapologetically). There isn’t any magic to therapy (as much as I’d fancy being a sort of Dumbledore), and you certainly can’t “obliviate” your childhood trauma. You need a new strategy. You can learn ways to regain control of your life, no wands required. You can feel excited about life again, more connected to yourself and others, and engaging in what you truly care about. As an African American psychologist and military spouse, I bring a wealth of unique experience and expertise from California, Florida, Mississippi, and Georgia that wouldn’t be easy to find elsewhere. I currently am authorized to practice interjurisdictionally through PSYPACT, and provide individual psychotherapy services via telehealth to adults in PSYPACT-participating states and territories. I would love for you to share your journey with me so I can help you get what you deserve: better relationships, self-care, and greater life satisfaction. We’ll both bring our genuine selves and I’ll make this challenging process feel a whole lot easier.
