Thanks for visiting my page! In counseling with me you'll find that I have a collaborative approach, starting in the first session as we work together to understand your concerns. I am committed to providing a non-judgmental, supportive, and safe space to help you uncover the things that are getting in the way of your happiness and well-being. My style is a balance of warm, empathic listening and respectful challenging to promote your insight and personal growth. While I will help you understand the nature and origins of your concerns, I will also help you see and use your strengths and talents toward creating the life you want. Multicultural sensitivity is a central, guiding principle in my therapy practice, in the sense that I believe personal growth can best happen when we understand someone within the context of their culture, environment, and across multiple identities including but not limited to ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender and spirituality. I look forward to hearing from you!

Accepting Trillium OHP, PacificSource, and United Healthcare, BlueCross BlueShield I’m Morgan Barber, LCSW, a licensed psychotherapist with over 17 years of experience helping people work through anxiety, stress, relationships, and stuck patterns. The college years can feel like being dropped into a complex world with no map. You’re making real decisions about identity, relationships, direction, and how to live, often while questioning who you are and who you’re becoming. I see this time of life as a kind of search. Students are experimenting, trying things on, pushing limits, and asking deeper questions about what is true for them. That process can be exciting, but it can also feel disorienting, lonely, or overwhelming. My role is to provide a space of real understanding and thoughtful guidance. I work collaboratively, bringing curiosity, clarity, and a nonjudgmental stance so we can make sense of what you’re experiencing. Together, we look at the patterns shaping your life, the pressures and constraints you’re navigating, and the options actually available to you. From there, we focus on building practical skill so you can make decisions you respect and move through challenges with more steadiness. This is not about giving you answers or telling you who to be. It is about helping you see more clearly, relate to yourself and others more effectively, and develop your own way of living that feels grounded and real. If you’re trying to find your footing, understand yourself more deeply, and move forward with greater clarity and confidence, this is a place to start.

I primarily support LGBTQIA+ and/or BIPOC adults who struggle with being their full, authentic selves navigate challenging systems and relationships. Clients often come to me worried that by making meaningful changes in their lives, they are being selfish. They might find themselves in work environments that are unsupportive, relationships they feel unfulfilled by, and friendships that seem unbalanced. It's a frustrating cycle, and they want their lives to be different, but are unsure how. After working with me, clients find themselves feeling more able to care for themselves, find joy in being with others, and feel more at peace with themselves. I approach therapy collaboratively and value humor, identity, and compassionate honesty in the therapeutic relationship. I also provide Brainspotting and Internal Family Systems treatment for trauma and provide letters for gender-affirming medical services. I know how frustrating it is to be unheard and unseen. I would love to help you explore how to better engage with yourself and others to become more authentically you. I have a social justice orientation and am affirming of all genders, sexualities, body sizes, and differing relationship structures. If any of the above spoke to you, let's chat!

Greetings, my name is Jacky Jaeok Kim, and my Korean name translates to “pearl of wisdom” in my native tongue. I’m also a first-generation Korean immigrant, a proud dog mom, an insatiable polymath, a person of many facets with a lifetime’s worth of stories under my belt. As a formerly undocumented Dreamer and survivor of sexual assault, I carry a deep understanding of resilience and hope with me in everything I do. I am a LCSW in Oregon (pending LICSW in Washington) with 11 years of experience in the mental health field and community-based work. My journey began advocating for the civil rights and safety of individuals in the criminal justice system with Orleans Public Defenders. From there, I expanded my work to serve diverse populations in juvenile justice, education, hospital systems and more. A formative experience in my career was a summer spent fly-fishing and working alongside grizzlies in Katmai National Park, where I was in complete reverence to Mother Nature and the remoteness of the Alaskan wilderness. This eventually led me to the Yukon-Kuskokwim region of Western Alaska upon receiving my MSW, where I worked as an itinerant social worker among the Yup’ik population. This experience deepened my respect for the indigenous way of life and reinforced my life’s commitment to providing meaningful, excellent patient care and therapy in rural settings. Over the years, my experiences working with people from all walks of life have cultivated my ability to connect with others on a deeply empathetic level. I view life’s challenges through a multidimensional lens, appreciating the complexity of each person’s story. My therapeutic approach is psychodynamic, integrating evidence-based modalities like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) - paired with somatic awareness practices when appropriate. I specialize in navigating through life’s challenges - including anxiety, depression, interpersonal struggles dealing with problems in the workplace, academics, family dynamics, cultural or religious identity, intergenerational trauma and more. I am committed to supporting you in a way that honors your unique identity and lived experience as a culturally-responsive clinician. I look forward to walking alongside you on your healing journey while offering a space of acceptance and shared commitment to growth and change. Education: BA - UC San Diego MSW - Southern University of New Orleans, LA

I am a licensed psychologist in Eugene, Oregon with a doctorate in clinical psychology from the Wright Institute. I trained at Santa Clara University for a predoctoral internship and at Cornell University for my postdoctoral residency. In the past, I have worked in a substance use residential treatment center, in a primary care clinic for health psychology training, at an inpatient psychiatric hospital, and at both community college and university settings. I have experience with helping individuals address trauma, depression, anxiety, and increase the ability to manage emotions. I also can help with adjustment to medical diagnoses and making behavioral changes in consultation with your physicians. I have done extensive work focused on multicultural experiences and can help with navigating race-related stress, understanding immigrant, first generation, or multiracial identities, and LGBT identity concerns. I provide therapy that is integrative, but primarily draws from Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), Acceptance-commitment therapy (ACT), Dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), Cognitive processing therapy for trauma (CPT), and schema therapy. I also strongly believe that therapy must be grounded in multicultural understanding of identity and human functioning. When working with me, you will share your experiences with a warm, compassionate, safe person, while collaborating toward your goals in concrete ways. We will address the issues that are most important to you in counseling while you continue to make change in your life. It is important that therapy is working for you, so we will check in about the process of therapy and your own sense of progress on a regular basis. Through our work together, my goal as a therapist is to empower you to enrich your life with positive change. We will address your thoughts and feelings, and endeavor to expand your capacity to accept and cope with your emotions. Together, we will strive to reduce unwanted behaviors and to deepen your understanding of yourself and others.

Are you holding a lot internally? Do you appear capable and put-together on the outside yet feel overwhelmed, anxious, fearful, or disconnected inside? Many students I work with are empaths and deep feelers who often ruminate or overthink decisions, worry about letting others down, or feel pressure to always be perceived as put together and strong. Are you confused about what healthy sexuality is? Are you unsure about what consent and bodily autonomy looks like, sounds like, feels like? College can intensify everything all at once: the stress of both internal and external academic expectations, relationships, family pressure, cultural or religious identities, and big questions about the future. It is a time of navigating multiple transitions. Transitions such as figuring out who you are apart from your family, questioning beliefs you grew up with, or trying to become your own person while staying connected to the people who matter to you. Add to this trying to develop new connections, and it can feel like you have a lead role in “Everything Everywhere All at Once.” Maybe you grew up in a high-pressure environment, or took on emotional caretaker roles early, or learned to minimize your needs. Perhaps you are noticing patterns you don’t know how to change. Or now that you are away from a traumatic family of origin situation, you are having memories surface and find yourself disassociating and finding it impossible to focus on studies. So you find yourself shutting down, maybe feeling numb, perhaps feeling “too much,” or carrying stress in your body - is it showing up as tension, trouble sleeping, difficulty concentrating, heightened anxiety, or...? You may be a quiet struggler - thoughtful, self-aware, and resilient, yet exhausted. Those who struggle quietly often don’t ask for help, apologize for having needs, or carry the emotional weight for others. Or maybe you find yourself acting out in ways that are not conducive to your well-being - like risky behavior or other choices that are hurtful for you. If you’re a university student who feels stuck between who you’ve been and who you’re becoming, or if you’re looking for a space where you don’t have to have everything figured out, I see you and am honored to hold space for you. I understand we heal through connection. Authentic connection happens when we are heard and understood in relationship to others. I attempt to engage our work through compassion, curiosity, humor, perspective, honesty, and gentle challenges when appropriate. I believe in creating a space where you are able to slow down and tune into your emotions, beliefs, and responses as a way to heal, grow, and authentically relate to others.

Trauma recovery involves the process of healing both the body and mind from overwhelming experiences by reconnecting with oneself in an integrated way. It includes developing interoception—the ability to sense and interpret internal bodily cues—which helps individuals notice and respond to their emotional and physical states with greater awareness and regulation. Recovery also involves working with both implicit memories (unconscious, body-held responses like tension or startle reflexes) and explicit memories (conscious, narrative recollections of events). Through therapeutic approaches that access these memory systems, individuals begin to make sense of their experiences, reduce reactivity, and create new, safer associations, allowing for a more grounded and empowered sense of self.
