Therapists for college students near New York University
Healing is rarely a direct path, and you don't have to walk it alone. As a queer psychotherapist, my work is rooted in LGBTQIA+-affirming, trauma-informed, relational therapy for adult individuals and couples. Whatever brings you here, whether it's a persistent sense of being stuck, patterns that feel hard to break, or a quiet discontent you haven't been able to name, I'm here to help you make sense of it. Drawing from a psychodynamic framework, I help you explore the cycles of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that may be keeping you from living the life you want. Together, we'll uncover how you became who you are, and how you'd like to grow. My commitment is to create a space that feels genuinely safe for exploration, connection, and vulnerability so that you can show up openly and honestly in our work together. Specializing in attachment-based, relational therapy, my approach is engaging, open-minded, gentle, and direct. Getting to know your internal world fully, understanding who you are and the challenges you've faced, is where our work begins. From there, we find pathways forward together. You can expect a compassionate, nonjudgmental environment where curiosity and honesty are always welcome. Using psychodynamic and relational therapy, we'll explore what's keeping you feeling stuck, conflicted, or discontent, and work through it at a pace that feels right for you. Every person who comes to me brings a unique story, set of needs, and goals, and my approach is personalized to reflect that. Trust and connection are the foundation of everything we do here. My path to becoming a therapist is deeply personal. Growing up, navigating my own queerness and systems of oppression, coming of age in a low-income and unstable home where I was parentified at an early age, and supporting family members through addiction and encounters with the justice system shaped how I see the world and how I show up for the people I work with. Those experiences gave me a firsthand understanding of how systems, circumstances, and identity can profoundly affect a person's sense of self and sense of possibility. They also deepened my commitment to providing care that is integrated, compassionate, and anti-oppressive. Whatever you've carried, and however you've gotten here, I bring both clinical training and lived understanding to our work together. Outside of the therapy room, you'll find me behind a drum kit, out on my bike exploring Brooklyn, or underwater on a scuba dive. Photography, swimming, and reading nonfiction also keep me curious and grounded, while competitive game nights, good TV, and my amazing cats provide plenty of joy and laughter.
Do you feel overwhelmed by life events and those in the outside world? Would you like to experience more satisfying relationships with family, friends, romantic partners and colleagues? Are you feeling stuck in your ability to initiate change? I can help. Therapy is a safe environment in which to explore your feelings and the patterns which may be holding you back. I offer a warm and compassionate manner and provide the support needed to begin making changes.

I offer sessions that are client focused and curious. In our sessions, we co-create a space with compassion, creativity and humor to foster an environment where you can feel both safe and challenged to grow. I practice with a psychodynamic relational approach that is trauma-informed and socially aware of power and privilege, critical of psychological paradigms that pathologize suffering. When emotional or behavioral challenges begin to affect daily life, relationships, and overall well-being, it can feel overwhelming and difficult to know where to turn. Having thoughtful, structured support during these times can make a meaningful difference. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), I provide evidence-based, relational therapy for children, adolescents, and young adults experiencing anxiety, OCD, mood concerns, ADHD, trauma, and behavioral difficulties. I also offer practical guidance to parents seeking steadier, more effective ways to support their child. My approach is grounded in evidence-based care and tailored to each individual. I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD and anxiety, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and DBT-informed skills. I value depth, flexibility, and thoughtful collaboration over one-size-fits-all approaches. In our work together, I aim to create a steady, collaborative space where young people feel understood and supported while also challenged to grow. Therapy is not just about symptom reduction — it is about helping young people build resilience, flexibility, and confidence that extend beyond the therapy room. I partner closely with parents, offering guidance to reduce overwhelm, strengthen communication, and respond more effectively to difficult moments. My goal is to help young people and families feel steadier, more capable, and better equipped to navigate life’s inevitable ups and downs.
With over 8 years of experience in mental health and as an Asian, Queer Native New Yorker, I deeply resonate with you if a part of you is a high-achiever, perfectionist, or people-pleaser, yet you also find yourself prioritizing others over yourself. You appear to be put together, but deep down, you're stuck in processing intergenerational trauma. You feel overwhelmed to tap into this discomfort. But you’re ready to be with it, to bring a change that allows you to slow down, to feel, and to build your inner resources for generative connection. Most of all, you’re ready to embody the wisdom of your lineages and roots. I want to help you get there. Together, we will find your authentic voice through experiential, integrative, anti-oppressive practices, EFT, Gestalt, parts work, and somatic approaches. I’ll meet you where you are on your unique journey and offer you the support you need to live and thrive abundantly. A life where you are empowered by your body's wisdom is possible. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor working with adults 18 and over, I help people navigate anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, life transitions, and the unconscious patterns that may be limiting their growth. At the heart of my work is a belief in the healing power of self-awareness and the therapeutic relationship. This belief helps me show up as a compassionate and collaborative partner throughout your therapeutic journey. I look forward to helping you build insight, emotional freedom, and more fulfilling relationships in our work together. I'm passionate about helping people develop greater self-awareness and create meaningful, lasting change by understanding the deeper roots of their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors — and I bring that same spirit of inquiry to every session. My specialty is psychodynamic and relational therapy, practiced in a space that is warm, nonjudgmental, and tailored to you. With a psychodynamic lens, we explore how unconscious patterns from past relationships shape your present thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. In relational therapy, the therapeutic relationship itself becomes a mirror, a way to uncover patterns of connection that may be affecting how you relate to others and to yourself. No matter the modality, I ensure a compassionate, collaborative, and curious approach that is personalized to your unique history, goals, and lived experiences. My path to becoming a therapist began with a lifelong curiosity about why people are the way they are and how their life experiences influence who they become. That curiosity grew into a passion for helping others make sense of their stories. Now, my commitment has grown into a dedication to thoughtful, relationship-centered care that honors each person's unique story. Into every session, I bring genuine curiosity and a commitment to exploring the deeper roots of emotional patterns. Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy reading fiction, staying active through exercise, and spending quality time with friends – all hobbies that help me recharge, stay grounded, and appreciate the importance of balance, connection, and lifelong learning. They also teach me insightful values that influence the way I approach my work as a therapist.
