Are you overwhelmed with feeling anxious or sad? Having trouble adjusting to recent changes in your life? You’re in the right place. I help college students and young adults dealing with anxiety, depression and life changes to feel more at peace, less worried, and more confident. Your experiences and story matter and I am here to listen. My job is to help you to help yourself. I will help you to explore your own strengths and struggles in a safe, nonjudgmental space. My goal is to be transparent, supportive, and informative while being culturally sensitive and LGBTIA+ affirming. I hold sessions Monday-Thursday, 9am-5pm. During the first several sessions, I will help you to identify your goals while reflecting on your personal strengths that have helped you to get you to today. I want you to remember that you have survived every day before this one and that you are resilient. We work towards your goals with a speed that is comfortable for you, checking in on your progress throughout. I incorporate aspects of mindfulness to help you to cope and to heal while providing psychoeducation to help you to better understand your emotions and to gain insight into your experiences. I often give ‘homework’ to help to build new coping skills and to improve communication styles. Everything we will work on will be together, so I will always be transparent and you will always have a voice.

I have worked with many young adults who are developing a secure sense of who they are and who they want to become. This stage of life has become even more difficult as our world is evolving at a greater rate and the choices so much more complicated.

I chose social work because I believe in helping the whole person. I recognize that we are all shaped by the environments and systems we live in, and I use this broader perspective in our work together. I specialize in adolescent, and emerging adult mental health, I have 6 years of experience supporting children, teens, and families across various settings, including schools and home-based services. Adolescence and emerging adulthood are periods of intense change, and my priority is offering a safe, non-judgmental space where young people can feel heard and truly understood. My therapeutic style is grounded in strength-based approaches and trauma-informed care. We might explore things using psychodynamic ideas to understand patterns, read and discuss books, music, and poetry through Bibliotherapy, or just have an open, honest talk therapy session. My approach is always about meeting people exactly where they are.

Hello! I'm so glad you're here. Finding support is often a difficult first step in any healing journey. Congratulations on making it this far! As a woman of color, I have used my lived experience and therapeutic expertise to support my clients with navigating challenging relationships with romantic partners, family, and/or friends. I use a creative and relational approach to find the appropriate fusion of therapeutic interventions to support your needs and work through identified challenges. I have significant interest and expertise in relationship work (specifically healthy/unhealthy relationship practices that can be applied to romantic, platonic, or familial relationships). Whether you're new to therapy or continuing a lifelong journey, it's essential to find a therapist who is a good fit. I’m a queer Black femme therapist who believes you are the expert of your own experience. I’m here to walk alongside you with warmth, curiosity, and care, while offering a space where all of you is welcome, including the parts that may feel heavy, hidden, or hard to hold. My approach is collaborative, nonjudgmental, sex-positive, and deeply affirming of trans folks and queer people of color. I believe healing happens in connection, and I strive to co-create a space where you feel seen, respected, and supported exactly as you are. My work is rooted in psychodynamic and relational therapy, with elements of mindfulness, CBT, and narrative therapy woven in to meet your unique needs. I show up with empathy, presence, and care. I’ll also gently challenge you and ask questions that invite reflection and growth. I don’t believe in “fixing” people. Instead, I see therapy as a collaborative process where we explore together, honor your truth, and build something meaningful in relationship. I believe healing happens when we both bring our full, authentic selves into the room. We’ll talk about heavy things, but that doesn’t mean it always has to feel heavy.

I practice what is called Person-Centered Therapy, meaning it is adapted to you and your needs. I work by the belief that true growth and change comes not just from techniques or plans, but from our relationships with each other. Using a Person-Centered approach, I look to help each person identify and use their own strengths, interests and existing supports to create the positive and healthy life for themselves that they envision. I incorporate professional and personal experiences and interests to create a relationship with clients that will foster trust and communication.

It can often feel daunting and challenging to ask others for help; however, I am glad you have ended up on my page and are looking for support at this point in your life. My hope as your future therapist is to help you emerge into the best version of yourself by helping you overcome some of the internal barriers that may be impacting how you perceive yourself, others, and the world. As a therapist, I like to approach my work with clients in a collaborative, exploratory, & conversational manner. I will also remain attuned to your unique experiences and intersecting identities (e.g., race, gender, sexuality) throughout our work. I have worked with clients on a wide breadth of concerns, including (but not limited to): anxiety, depression, career concerns, relationship concerns, family of origin concerns, identity exploration/development, & interpersonal concerns. I have experience working with undergraduate & graduate students, adults, and other mental health providers. **I am in-network with Aetna (NY, MD, & VA) and Anthem (NY).** I am an out-of-network provider for all other insurances. If you have out-of-network benefits, your insurance often will cover a large percentage of the session fee. I can provide a superbill for your sessions, which you can then submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Finding a therapist with whom you feel comfortable and connected is key. Thus, I offer a complimentary phone consultation to help determine whether we might be a good match. If my approach resonates with you, please reach out. I look forward to hearing from you soon!

As a former student-athlete, I understand how tough it can be to balance everything, whether it is school, sports or just life in general. That’s why I’m passionate about supporting young adults and the LGBTQ+ community who are dealing with anxiety, depression, or going through major life transitions. Being an athlete showed me how important it is to have a good support system, and I want to be that supportive presence for my clients as they work through their own challenges. I aim to create a nonjudgmental space where you feel seen, heard, and understood. I use a blend of evidence-based practices like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients better understand and manage their thoughts and emotions. Using expressive and mindfulness-based practices, we will tap into your creativity, self-expression, and find your own inner calm. My mission as a therapist is to meet each person with empathy and compassion, making sure to support their unique story while helping them discover their inner strength and potential. I’m here to help you navigate what’s hard, celebrate what’s working, and discover what’s possible. I want therapy to feel like a safe, welcoming space where you can be yourself and figure things out at your own pace. Therapy with me is a team effort and you're never alone in the process.
