Beginning counseling can be an overwhelming process. At Sanctuary Counseling Group, we believe in creating therapeutic relationships with our clients that promote the healing of heart, mind, and soul. The people that I work best with often experience anxiety and depression when faced with a quickly changing world and our place within it. I also have experience working with loss and grief which can affect us in so many different ways. SCG does have therapists that offer 1x a month appointments in Boone but I am currently not one of those providers.

I also have lived experience with chronic illness, sexual identity exploration and integration, coming out later in life, and parenting two LGBTQIA+ children. We identify patterns that are keeping you stuck and build practical tools that help you feel more steady, confident, and grounded. My approach is collaborative and straightforward. I don’t believe in sitting back silently while you struggle to find words. We talk. We process. We challenge unhelpful thoughts. We work through emotional blocks. I integrate approaches such as CBT, trauma-informed care, and other evidence-based strategies to help you build resilience while honoring your story. EBP involves integrating best research evidence with clinical expertise and client values to make informed decisions about treatment plans. For example, using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for anxiety is an evidence-based approach, as research supports its effectiveness in alleviating anxiety symptom. I have an extensive history treating individuals with anxiety, depression, PTSD, etc working in the private sector, VA, state facilities and other government agencies .

We are a group of providers dedicated to helping and serving others. within our group we have male and female providers, older and younger, black, white and Hispanic. We take most insurances, and have a sliding scale. We are open 9am to 8pm and some weekend hours as well.

Our therapists are intensively trained and Certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE) for PTSD, and Exposure and Response Prevention (EXRP) for OCD.
