We all deserve a space where we feel safe and supported. Emerging adulthood is a time of transition and personal development, and therapy can be a vital support as you embark on that personal journey. Dr. Natalie Otte provides therapy for a wide range presenting concerns such as depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, life transitions, identity development, and substance use. She also provides psychological assessment for ADHD, Autism, and mood disorders. While it can feel challenging to initiate therapy or start the psychological assessment process, Dr. Otte aims to provide a genuine, non-judgmental, and empathic space for you to explore your presenting concerns. Therapy with Dr. Otte often involves processing your experiences, recognizing patterns and developing insights, improving your relationships, and building lasting skills for managing distress. Dr. Otte values psychological assessment for providing diagnostic clarity, and she utilizes evidence-based therapy approaches to help you reach your personal goals.

We understand that asking for help can be scary. You may question what others think or wonder if you really need counseling, but we all get stuck sometimes. You are not alone. Life can become challenging and overwhelming, making you want to escape or avoid external problems or your own needs. Therapy doesn’t solve all of the problems; it gives you a place to explore yourself in the midst of them. It provides support and tools to build your understanding, courage, and resilience – because you deserve healing, wholeness, fulfillment, and peace.
Navigating the world can be stressful and our stress responses can impact us on multiple levels. As a therapist, I strive to create a therapeutic environment that is trauma-informed AND resilience-informed, moving people from a place of despair to hope. I have experience working with those navigating anxiety/depression, stress and burnout, grief, and trauma. While trauma and stress may be ever-present, I invite you to consider what else is also true. Cultivating resilience helps build the capacity to hold the complexities of life, and integrating the mind and body allows one to respond intentionally and live more fully. Approaching the therapeutic journey with curiosity and intention, I utilize a creative and holistic approach to work collaboratively with people ready to experience a change. I offer empathetic and client-centered counseling that helps one find deepened awareness, compassion, connection, and movement toward resilient transformation. I honor the sacredness of this work and the client-therapist relationship. I seek to create an inclusive brave/safe space for you to explore your concerns with curiosity, acceptance, and compassion. Regardless of what you bring into the room, I am committed to taking the journey with you, and welcome the opportunity to join you in this work.
Sometimes we can lose our sense of self and feel overwhelmed by our emotions, experiences, and life's responsibilities. Other times, we may lack a space where we can show up as we are, without masking, and have someone join us in our emotional experience. I value creating a collaborative space for exploration, healing, and understanding—grounded in the belief that distress can arise when we feel out of tune with our authentic selves and values, or when we lack a space to be emotionally held. Together, we can create a space where you are heard and where you can explore what brings meaning to your life. I work with clients who may be navigating life transitions, are feeling anxious, or experiencing interpersonal issues. Early on, we will develop a collaborative and trusting relationship, exploring your current concerns and collaborating to find a way to address them. I often use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Person-Centered, and Strengths- based techniques. After exploring what's brining you into therapy, we will work on increasing your tolerance of certain emotions while living a life that brings you fulfillment and meaning.

Hey! I am so glad you are here! My name is Katie and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). I received my Bachelor's degree in Communications from Hope College and my Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Cornerstone University. I am passionate about working with college students and young adults (and adults of all ages and walks of life!). Whether you are feeling stuck deciding on what is next, what path to choose for your career or life, or just need a listening ear, I am here to create a space where you can show up as you are and leave feeling encouraged and heard. College and those post years are really tough, and full disclosure where some of the most messy and challenging years of my life. Therapy was so important to me during that time, and I hope to offer you the support you deserve to navigate your experience. When we meet, you can expect a very personable experience focused on you and your goals, some humor and references to various shows/songs/movies or the latest trend I am trying to understand to help remind you that you are not alone, and a space where nothing is ever too much, you will never be judged, and you can truly be authentically yourself.
