You’re not alone if you’re realizing you might have OCD. Many people spend years stuck in their heads, battling intrusive thoughts, compulsions, hyper-specific fears, or chronic anxiety that pulls them away from the lives they want to live. I specialize in treating OCD and related disorders including perinatal and postpartum OCD, health anxiety, panic disorder, social anxiety, specific phobias, emetophobia, and coping with anxiety-induced hypertension. My practical, evidence-based approach provides tools to manage symptoms, challenge unhelpful patterns, and build lasting resilience so you can feel more in control in your daily life. OCD commits many crimes against its sufferers, but one of the cruelest is the hope it steals. You can feel better than you do now. This doesn’t have to be your life. I use Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients face fears, reduce compulsions, and reclaim a meaningful life. All sessions are online. I don’t believe that any one modality of therapy works best for everybody. I believe in getting to know my client, understanding what works and does not work for them, and keeping an open line of communication with what is and isn’t helping. That is how I believe the best treatment and treatment planning occurs: when both parties are able to honestly express their thoughts on the treatment process and are willing to explore different avenues in order to bring about the most healing. I believe in person-centered care. I believe in helping a client feel comfortable, welcome, and safe when they are in therapy, and I strive to be a positive support for them. Without my personal life’s experiences with pain, anxiety, depression, and a multitude of other struggles, I know I would not be the therapist that I am today. I believe that I have a large amount of empathy for individuals who go through these types of struggles, and I feel that I can help them not only from a professional level, but also from a human-being to another human-being level. The human experience is not always an easy one to go through. It is my pleasure and privilege to help individuals walk through their struggles and to let them know that they are not alone. By providing them with support, empathy, techniques for success and a safe place to come each week, I believe that I can be a part of the healing in a clients life and that is one of the greatest blessings that I could ever think of participating in.
My focus is on anxiety, depression and relationship issues. The stress of life can be a huge distraction and added weight to an already difficult time in your life. I would like to walk along side you to help figure out better ways to manage those emotions and issues.

Why does insight alone, not lead to congruence between what you want and what you do? This is a question we would explore together. My areas of interest and experience include anxiety and depression, relationship difficulties, behavioral change through healthy habits, mindfulness, and exploring interpersonal struggles. We can focus on what resonates with you, work within any of life's domains where we believe change is possible, and go inward with mindfulness to sit with the parts of our realities that are beyond our control. Focusing on what we can control, however, is often the way forward.
The clients I've worked with that have reported the greatest success all have one thing in common: They tried their hardest in and out of session to challenge themselves. I firmly believe that every person has the answers they are searching for within themselves. I often work with clients to build up their faith & trust within themselves so that they no longer go through life second guessing everything they do. During the young adult stage of life people often believe that they are supposed to have everything in their life figured out. I believe that if you really work hard at getting to know yourself, you will have all the tools you'll need to figure out what is best for you going forward.

The years of your twenties can be a time of growth and change. It also is a time filled with feelings of self-doubt, loneliness, and stress. You are being faced with challenges that didn't exist for your parents at your age. Now more than ever adolescents and young adults ages 13 and up are experiencing increasing symptoms of anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and difficulties with relationships. Times are not what they used to be and you deserve to be heard. Your opinions and feelings matter! You have worth and your voice is valued. If judgment from others didn't exist, what goals and dreams would you reach for I am with you on this journey, to discover your strengths, empower your soul, uncovering the passion within you. I provide a safe and empathetic environment that utilizes skills focusing on regulating emotions, improving relationships, cognitive distortions, while also incorporating strengths to increase confidence and true acceptance of self. When I was in my twenties, rather than feeling possibilities were endless, I struggled with feeling lost and alone. This period represented inadequacy and defeat. They were the most challenging years in my life. Through the battle with myself, I discovered my passion and ability to truly relate and understand this age group. "I am built from every mistake I ever made." -unknown- "Show me the most damaged parts of your soul, and I'll show you how it still shines like gold." -Nikita Gill-
From our practice website: "We understand that going to see a therapist can be a very difficult decision. We are committed to ensuring our clients are treated with the utmost respect and sensitivity. Initially, we work with the the client to gain an understanding of their concerns. From there, we create and implement a treatment plan geared to the client (or families) goals. We actively and continuously seek feedback to make sure that our clients are getting their needs met. Research has consistently demonstrated that the quality of the relationship between a therapist and their client is at the core of whether therapy will be successful. Using our skills and experiences, we work to create a safe and trusting environment to meet your goals. We use a strength-based approach in working with our clients. Often, we build upon these strengths to create interventions that will help. We utilize evidenced based treatments whenever possible. This means the approaches we use are well researched and found to be helpful in addressing the presenting challenges. Our team continues to receive training and professional development as we believe that as therapists we are never done learning. When we work with children and teens, we believe that parents are the expert. We believe parental involvement is a critical component of the treatment. Our approach is to create a “team environment” that includes the child, family, school (when necessary), physician, and therapist to provide the optimal level of support to address whatever problems the child is experiencing. Since the child is the most important person in this effort, he or she becomes the “captain” of this team. We will always address your child respectfully and in a developmentally appropriate manor. We know and appreciate that you are entrusting us with you or a family member’s care. We will do everything we can to make our work together a helpful and enriching experience."
