Therapy helps people explore and experience both rough and celebrating moments, and I am with clients through this journey. My practice centers around creating a safe, non-judgmental space where anyone can reconnect with their inner strengths, as well as using skills from evidence-based practices. Through my experience of working with people from different backgrounds, I've developed deep trust in each individual's capacity for growth and self-direction. My work focuses on helping clients uncover their authentic motivations and cultivate confidence in their decision-making abilities. As an individual who comes from a different cultural and language background, I was able to connect with many who have similar struggles. I provide therapy to people aged from 13 to 40, using person-centered therapy paired with CBT/DBT, in both English and Mandarin Chinese.
Swathi is enthusiastic about working with young adults with a variety of presenting concerns such as anxiety, managing stress, trauma, grief, sleep difficulties and chronic medical conditions. Swathi is also interested in supporting individuals with concerns around compulsive behaviors, depression, and gender, and sexuality. Working from an integrative perspective, she utilizes CBT and ACT to formulate treatment plans that work best to create a safe, healing, and effective therapeutic environment for her patients. Currently pursuing a Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology from William James College, she is focusing on an emphasis in health psychology.
I believe that your own creative process is the arena for greater self-awareness. I am transparent and authentic in my responses and find this to be the cornerstone of my practice. My work is rooted in body centered psychotherapy, bridging support networks specifically between clients and families, building skills for greater coping and supporting individuals on their journey towards personal growth. Stephanie is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner specializing in treating adolescents and young adults. She has two undergraduate degrees, in Psychology and in Nursing as well as a masters degree in Nursing from Northeastern University. She began her nursing career in primary care at a pediatrician’s office as well as an inpatient child psychiatry unit. She has found that these experiences have helped sharpen her knowledge of normal vs. abnormal child development, working within the family unit, and has built her resources in the community. Stephanie has work experience as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in outpatient, inpatient and emergency room settings. She enjoys working closely with her patients and their families in treating their mental health concerns. Her practice is collaborative, encouraging her patients to be active participants in their care. She believes that medication is not the only answer and recommends that her patients are actively in therapy as well as seeking ways to lead healthy lifestyles.
