I’m am a licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) based in Massachusetts, I received my Masters from Cambridge College and have been practicing for 4 years. I help adults struggling with anxiety, depression and trauma. When clients meet with me they can expect to be in a safe environment where they can share their thoughts and feelings in a non judgmental space. In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions. I will go over confidentiality, consents and privacy policy. I will gather some information through a bio-psycho social assessment about you and then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us. Having worked with professionals for the past 4+ years, I've developed and tried-and-true playbook for helping you (a) identify the root cause of your challenges and (b) create a tailored plan that leads to measurable progress.
I work with people who are looking to embark on a process of intentional healing, self understanding, growth and actualization. I'm here to support you if you are struggling with anxiety, depression, identity issues, interpersonal challenges, difficulties with motivation and focus, healing of trauma, and/or wrestling with life's big questions. Therapy, to me, is a highly collaborative process. You are driving the bus and deciding where to go, and I am here to help you navigate through a process of deep listening, reflection, and psychoeducation. Sessions often focus on expressing emotions, needs, desires and boundaries effectively. We can also explore trauma healing, life goals, passions or spiritual beliefs. Examining communication skills and relationship dynamics helps to strengthen interpersonal connections. We can do talk therapy, or add in creativity, play, art making, music and/or movement! Hi there! Currently I'm providing telehealth via a secure, user-friendly and HIPAA compliant telehealth platform. I see many clients who struggle with anxiety and stress-management, relationship concerns, life-stage stressors, and self-worth/self-esteem issues. College is often described as "some of the best years of your life" ....by well-intentioned people who likely have not experienced life as a college student in the 21st century. Many of my college-aged clients come to therapy seeking guidance once the juggling act of friends, dating, family, homework, classes, labs, group projects, extracurricular obligations, etc...starts to become overwhelming, and "me-time" a distant memory. While therapy itself certainly can't remove anything from your plate, it can help you to reconfigure and re-prioritize your life in a way that can bring greater peace of mind, and restore a sense of balance. Feel free to reach out and we'll see if this can be a good fit for your needs! Melissa
I help people to heal from past trauma and hurtful experiences so that they can decrease anxiety, increase feelings of self-worth and develop authentic relationships. Together we will address the underlying patterns and fears that are keeping you in survival-mode so that you develop the confidence and courage to move toward the life you want to live. You may be struggling with: Difficulty in relationships or creating a healthy relationship. Constantly people-pleasing. Shame and low self-esteem. Feeling like you have to hide part of yourself. Anxiety holding you back. A challenging relationship with your body. Feeling held back in this way is deeply painful. My job is not to fix you (because you're not broken), but to work with you to address the underlying patterns and fear. During our sessions, we may explore how unhealthy patterns and limiting self-beliefs play a role in where you are struggling. I work without judgment of your truth is, where you currently are, or where it is you’d like to go. I integrate my background in energy psychology and training as a meditation teacher into my work. I blend trauma-informed, attachment, and somatic interventions into my work with clients.
If you have ever been at a loss for what to do or felt stuck in a situation that seemed to have no solution then please know that there is still hope. Regardless if it is complex trauma, PTSD, anxiety, and depression, there is hope. If you have a child with ADHD, ODD or another intellectual disability or have a history of that yourself, there is hope. It is my heart to meet everyone where they are at and to enable them to know that no matter what has happened in their life, no matter the trauma, there is light at the end of the tunnel.

The transition to college or graduate school can be a time of tremendous change. Adapting to new environments, relationships and levels of independence can feel overwhelming in even the best of circumstances. For those who are navigating mental health challenges, complicated family or friend dynamics, shifts in identity, grief, or loss, that transition can generate feelings of anxiety, panic or paralysis that may affect daily functioning. I was a client long before I became a therapist, so I know how daunting it can be to open yourself up to a stranger – to let them see those private parts of yourself that might have been a source of judgment, fear, pain or shame. It took me many years to ask for help, in part because I viewed it as a sign of weakness. Now, through the lens of both my professional and lived experiences, I see this first step you are taking for what it is – one of the ultimate signs of strength. I honor the courage it took to access that strength. I can’t guarantee that the work ahead will be easy – but you won’t have to do it alone. My goal as a therapist is to meet you where you are and walk with you as you move toward where you want to be. I strive to create a therapeutic space that is authentic, safe and non-judgmental. My approach to our work together is relationship-based and trauma-informed. I believe that therapy is most effective when the connection between client and therapist is grounded in trust and compassion. I invite you to reach out so that we can explore, together, whether I might be the right person to join you on your journey toward new insights, self-awareness and growth. Please note that discounts are available to full-time students on a case-by-case basis.
Do you worry about the future? Would you describe yourself as having difficulty with perfectionism, relationships with family & friends, social anxiety or identity? We are a small practice with two therapists--Spencer & Carlie who love providing therapy to young adults as they navigate this exciting and nerve wracking time moving from childhood and dependence to adulthood and independence. We often work with young adults who may have had therapy in high school but did not previously find therapy helpful (often due to a lack of agency in picking their therapist, misunderstanding or invalidation of their experiences, disruptions in confidentiality or lack of concrete coping skills/goals worked on). We provide a reparative experience where clients feel genuinely supported and able to advocate and ask for what they need. We use a variety of different therapy modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectal-Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Attachment Based Therapy, EMDR, Goal-oriented Therapy and Mindfulness. Our clients often move towards a feeling of confidence, improved relationships and belief in their abilities to handle any challenges that may come their way.

When your car breaks down on the side of the road you don’t hesitate to call for assistance because you don’t wish to remain “stuck,” and the same logic can be said for the pursuit of therapy. Managing stress, overcoming the inevitable challenges life throws our way and building healthy relationships are valued skills that I feel passionately about supporting others in achieving. I hope to serve as a guide in uncovering the resiliency and confidence you already possess, to begin to live your fullest life.
