If you’re here, you may be looking for a space to grow, heal, or better understand yourself. Something might feel like it’s getting in the way of becoming the version of yourself you want to be - whether that’s related to school, work, relationships, unhelpful patterns, anxiety, depression, or something else entirely. Whatever brought you here, and no matter how many times you’ve tried before, we can work together to clarify your goals and move forward in a meaningful way. My name is Madison, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and advanced certification in trauma-informed care. I look forward to getting to know you and supporting you on your journey. I have experience working with adolescents, young adults, and adults, particularly in areas such as trauma, grief, anxiety, and depression. My approach is strength-based, collaborative, and goal-oriented. I believe that you already have the capacity for growth and change, and my role is to support and guide you in accessing and utilizing your strengths. I strive to create a comfortable, supportive, and empowering space where you can be your true self. I have experience with a variety of therapeutic techniques, ranging from motivational interviewing and CBT to mindfulness to strength-based and solution-focused therapy. We can work together to determine what approach makes the most sense for your needs and goals.
I am a Harvard-trained, Harvard-affiliated, board-certified child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist. I strongly believe that the best psychiatric care is centered on the whole person, not just on a diagnosis or a specific medication. I provide weekly therapy and work with patients to determine if medications can be of help. I do not believe that everyone needs a medication, but they can be useful in treating particular psychiatric symptoms; I will work with you in order to find the best treatment modality that meets your goals and needs. My training in psychotherapy includes psychodynamic psychotherapy, play therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), Exposure/Response Prevention (Ex/RP) and Prolonged Exposure (PE). I provide psychotherapy for children, adolescents, adults, couples and families. In order to offer comprehensive treatment, I do not accept insurance in my private practice. I am currently conducting sessions via telemedicine only. Please feel free to send me an email to set up a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation so I can answer any questions and see if I can be of help.

Grounded and raised in a Chinese immigrant and Vietnamese refugee family, my roots and experiences have amplified my passion to shatter taboos in the AAPI community. I am committed to raising awareness and access to spaces of healing to communities of color. I will offer you a culturally-responsive, collaborative space to share your story. I aim to apply an anti-oppressive framework at the heart of my practice; and care deeply about the impact of intergenerational and race-based trauma. Welcome! I am a licensed individual therapist who works with adults struggling with anxiety, depression, addiction, low self-esteem, and difficult life-transitions. Mental health is a challenging landscape, yet with the right support I believe the process can be rewarding too. My commitment is to provide a non-judgmental, safe space to help people guide themselves toward a place of empowerment and personal growth. I specialize in humanistic practice and know that each person possesses their own unique strengths and abilities to build upon in helping them evolve and improve their quality of life. Change is hard, plain and simple, and that includes starting a new therapeutic relationship and taking action in addressing your needs. If you are ready to take that first step, I would love to collaborate with you on your journey. *Our practice is now accepting new students for individual counseling* Much of our suffering is stored throughout our body, leaving us with a racing mind and feelings of stress, anxiety, depression. By approaching healing through a lens that incorporates the whole-body, we will work together so that you can heal fully and sustainably. I specialize in working with individuals faced with persistent anxiety, depression, grief, and trauma. Many of these symptoms will manifest in relationship issues, difficulty sleeping, or poor motivation. Together we will explore the root causes that perpetuate your suffering and develop strategies so that you can lead a more fulfilling and joyful life. I am a clinical social worker, yoga & mindfulness teacher. I blend my degree as a clinician along with training in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Yoga Therapy to offer an integrative approach to treatment. I believe that in order to truly heal, we must honor our whole-body and mind working together. My mission is to uncover the most effective paths for guiding others in reducing suffering and increasing a sense of joy and fulfillment in everyday life. Professionally and personally, I have gathered experience, evidence, and strategies for enhancing life and uncovering “what it’s all about”. I wish to share this with you.
The secret to being happy resides in the unconscious conversations we have with ourselves. We teach you how to discover the internal conversations and consciously create your happiness.
Whether you're feeling overwhelmed and isolated by the impact of past experiences, challenges in relationships, struggling with relentless worry, battling the weight of depression, facing the complexities of navigating your own relationship with food and body image, I am here to walk alongside you on your path to healing. My approach is rooted in trauma-informed care, creating a safe and compassionate space where you can explore and process your experiences without judgment. We'll work towards understanding the roots of your struggles, developing coping strategies, and fostering a sense of resilience that empowers you in your daily life. Your needs are unique, and our therapeutic journey will be tailored to address them. This may include utilizing traditional Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) or Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) interventions, or integrating more holistic yoga and mindfulness practices to provide you with practical tools to connect with your body and mind.
My offer to you something is simple and steady: a space where you do not have to perform, impress, or hold it all together. A space where you can exhale. I am especially drawn to working with people in transition especially college students standing on the edge of adulthood and professionalism. Transitions can shake your confidence. They can stir up old shame, old stories, old fears about not being enough. But they are also sacred turning points. They are invitations. Together, we will slow down and tune in. We will examine the narratives you’ve inherited and gently decide which ones no longer serve you. My hope for you is not that you leave therapy “better," but that you leave more fully yourself. I believe healing happens when someone sits with you long enough for you to remember your own strength. I will meet you with depth, honesty, humor and warmth. I will challenge you when needed, celebrate you when earned, and hold the mirror steady when you forget who you are. You do not have to worry alone. Everyone has a story. I look forward to hearing yours.
