We believe that the first generation experience is unique and should be handled in a delicate and trauma-informed way.
I am a mental health therapist who specializes in relationships. It can be romantic relationships but also the relationship with yourself- which is the most important. I help couples understand each other and their relationship patterns to live in harmony. I work with women guiding them to be the best versions of themselves while working through anxiety, transitions, self-esteem, and imposter syndrome.
Here’s a quick bit of information about my education, and areas of focus. I graduated from University of Louisville with Masters in Couple’s and Family Therapy, as well as Social Work. The majority of my training is in family systems therapy. In short, that means I believe all things function as a system and are interconnected. My approach to therapy is person centered, informal, and conversational. I believe it’s important to look at the whole picture, instead of solely placing the weight of the problem on one person. I also enjoy looking at Mind- Body- Spirit connection, which in my opinion tends to promote overall well-being. My focuses areas are: daily stressors, Depression, Anxiety, Life Adjustments, Relational concerns, etc. Some of the techniques I pull from frequently are: CBT,DBT, Distress Dis-tolerance( Mindfulness), IFS, Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused, and motivational interviewing. Therapy is not a one size fit all. It’s important that the time you spend in session is designed for you. My work with you is tailored to you. My goal in session is to collaborate with you on your desired plan. I see myself as an assistant/ collaborator to helping you turn over the pieces in your life that need your attention. Therapy is the space and time where you are given the opportunity to be who you are. It is the space for you to be accepted and validate in a safe environment.

Do you find yourself unable to shut your mind off? Replaying past events or chronically worrying? Is your inner critic keeping you from finding confidence in yourself and security with your place in the world? Have you experienced emotional pain and confusion that keeps your past in the present? Are you struggling to build self-esteem or find self-worth? Has the stress from daily responsibilities compounded existing problems with depression, anxiety, or loss? It is possible to move through emotional pain and self-doubt. Together, we can build insight into thoughts, patterns, and behaviors that may be holding you back; explore your strengths and values; and determine how to make healthy change a part of your life. Learning styles vary, so I use elements from different therapeutic approaches. We can work together to discover the strengths you may not have known you have to achieve more satisfaction and balance in the most important areas of your life.

At Helix Health Group we believe creating an environment of health and wellness begins with an open empathetic therapeutic relationship. A place where people feel safe to explore their family/relationship dynamics, unresolved traumas, and coping mechanisms. Through this exploration we will discover in what ways these impact your life. We will establish an individual treatment plan that may include medications, complementary and alternative wellness interventions, and/or psychotherapy.
