Anchor Point Counseling offers a variety of services to meet each client’s varying needs. Counseling is not a one-size-fits-all type of service. Each client will bring with them a unique story and perspective through which they relate and interact with themselves, others, and the world around them. Here at Anchor Point, we want to honor those differences through offering more specialized treatment (EMDR and FLASH), specifically in working with trauma and anxiety disorders. Additionally, Anchor Point has a particular interest in treating educators, student-athletes, and coaches. General counseling is also available.

I truly believe that choosing to prioritize your own or your child’s mental health is one of the bravest and most meaningful decisions a person or parent can make. Whether you are reaching out for yourself at any stage of life or seeking support for your teenager, committing to healing and personal growth can feel overwhelming. Even finding the right therapist can feel like a daunting first hurdle. I am genuinely glad you are here and taking this step. Opening up to someone new is not easy. When beginning therapy for teens, it can feel especially intimidating to trust someone with their thoughts and emotions. For parents, it can be painful and confusing to watch your child struggle and not know how to “fix” it. Further, with adults of any age, it can be just as challenging to slow down, reflect, and allow yourself the space to be supported, or even to admit that you are struggling in the first place. I strive to create a confidential, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you can feel safe enough to be yourself, explore your experiences, and begin meaningful healing. I work with children, adolescents, and adults navigating a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and life challenges. Many clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure of how to move forward. Concerns may include anxiety (such as generalized anxiety, panic attacks, social anxiety, or phobias), depression and mood disorders, personality disorders, ADHD and executive functioning difficulties, trauma and PTSD, grief and loss, OCD, and challenges related to life transitions. With teens specifically, I have a passion for supporting concerns such as school avoidance, academic pressure, peer relationships, bullying, identity exploration, low self-esteem, emotional regulation difficulties, and family conflict. I also work with more complex concerns, including self-harm, suicidal thoughts, substance use, eating disorders, and behavioral challenges. For adults, therapy may focus on stress, burnout, relationship concerns, career or life transitions, parenting challenges, unresolved trauma, or patterns that are no longer serving you. Many adults also seek therapy to better understand themselves, improve emotional awareness, and create more meaningful, values-driven lives. I earned my Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Indianapolis, where I also completed my Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology. My training included supervised clinical experiences across a variety of settings and ages, including private practice, residential treatment, a therapeutic day school, and juvenile justice systems. During my predoctoral internship, I received intensive training working with youth and families involved in complex systems of care, and collaborated closely with schools, probation, and child welfare agencies. My approach to therapy is integrative, drawing from a range of evidence-based modalities that are tailored to each individual’s specific needs. In our first sessions, we will discuss current difficulties, collaborate on goals, and determine the best approach for you or your child. My goal is to meet you where you are. For teens, this often means building trust at their own pace and helping them develop practical coping skills and emotional insight. For parents, it may involve collaboration, guidance, and tools to strengthen connection and communication at home. For adults, it may look like exploring patterns, building resilience, and working toward lasting, meaningful change. I am not what we psychologists call a “blank slate” therapist, and I will enthusiastically support you, celebrate you, and laugh with you, while also holding space for the difficult topics and why you came to therapy in the first place. No matter where you or your family are starting, you don’t have to navigate it alone. If you feel that I may be a good fit for you or your child, I welcome you to reach out.
Do you find yourself struggling with negative beliefs or finding it difficult to let go of past experiences? I specialize in helping college students navigate the unique challenges and transitions that come with academic life. Whether you're dealing with stress from classes, anxiety about the future, relationship issues, or personal struggles, I provide a safe and supportive space to explore your thoughts and feelings. College is an exciting time, but it can also be overwhelming. The pressure to succeed academically, socially, and personally can take a toll on your mental health. I’m here to help you develop coping strategies, manage stress, and gain clarity on what’s most important to you. I am trained in EMDR, DBT, and CBT. I like to use somatic interventions to help clients reprocess traumatic memories, explore their inner emotional landscape and work through beliefs that can become stuck points in traditional talk therapy. You can expect to gain a deeper understanding of your emotions and the parts that make up your personality, relief from symptoms, and increased emotional resilience.

Whether you're struggling with anxiety, navigating family conflicts, or feeling overwhelmed by academic pressures, I'm here to provide the comfort and guidance you need to thrive. Together, we'll explore strategies tailored to your unique needs, helping you find clarity, resilience, and peace of mind.
Looking through endless therapist profiles can be exhausting when you're already struggling. Let me make this simple: I don't sugarcoat things. I'm here to actively work with you, not just listen and nod like a sounding board. Working together, we can actually change what's not working by developing practical skills that are effective and easy to use. I've witnessed countless journeys of growth and healing and I believe wholeheartedly in your capacity for change. I work well with all kinds of people, and I especially click with gamers, students, and musicians - shared interests tend to lead to a better therapeutic connection. You're stuck, but not broken. I help with anxiety, depression, and substance use with practical approaches: harm reduction perspectives, CBT/DBT techniques, and mindfulness-based stress reduction. Whether you're dealing with social anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship issues, burnout, or school stress, we'll build tools that will work specifically for you. Even though whatever hurdle you are trying to overcome may seem impossible, part of you knows something needs to change. Whether it's anxiety, substance use, depression, or feeling stuck - taking the first step is hard, but necessary. I offer free consultations to see if we're a good fit. One call could be the start to feeling better. Ready? Let's connect.

Katelyn's journey is marked by a commitment to excellence and teamwork. As a former student-athlete, she has honed skills in time management, communication, and resilience. Everyone deserves a safe place to explore their thoughts and feelings. I believe clients are the experts in themselves and I provide a safe space to explore thoughts and feelings without judgment. One request I may ask of clients when we work together is that labels like “right” or “wrong” are strongly discouraged in sessions. Letting go of those labels in session is an important part of creating that safe space. The most common struggles of the people I work with include Borderline Personality Disorder, PTSD, struggles with assertiveness, gray-area substance use, and anger outbursts. The other mindfulness practices can help with managing anxiety, impulsivity, and intrusive thoughts. As your recovery evolves in stages, your treatment will too. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and have been practicing since 2018. My specialties include Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and narrative therapy, as well as other mindfulness practices.

My guidance typically involves reframing thoughts, building assertiveness, identifying/managing emotions, trauma-informed care, harm reduction models, and processing experiences. I am also one of the only therapists in Indiana who identifies as a pagan and secular provider. If you are looking for a non-religious therapist who understands growing up in a religious environment, reach out!
My main areas of focus are working with those who are struggling with anxiety, depression, anger management, self-esteem, codependency, gender identity, emotional regulation, ADHD, Autism, and relationship issues.
