My pronouns are she/her/hers. I offer both individual therapy and psychological assessment. Assessment can be used to evaluate for concerns like ADHD or autism, screen for learning challenges, track changes in neurological functioning, and more. For assessment, I see clients 5 years and older. For individual therapy, I see clients age 14 and older. I specialize in anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and coping with life changes. I also used to work at universities and know the unique experiences and challenges college students face. For any therapist you work with, one of the most important pieces is connection. I may not be the right therapist for everyone and that is perfectly ok. Find who you mesh with and who works for you, and you will give yourself the best chance of success! I believe that therapy is only part of your journey. When we meet, I want to know not only what is upsetting you but also what your goals and hopes are for the future. My goal is to stand with you as you gain the power to reclaim the parts of your life you want to improve. If you feel a connection with me, therapy can be a place to learn more about yourself, challenge worries, process past and current strife, and more. I can be a witness, guide, support, and collaborator. We will work together to get you through this.
The Brannen Center started with the goal of helping people to targeted work to quickly resolve symptoms. We are trauma experts, and we work with a variety of other issues like depression, anxiety, nuerodiversity, OCD, dissociative disorders, psychosis, life transitions, grief, stress, etc. We use a combination of deep listening, EMDR, parts work, and other somatic modalities to help our clients achieve profound and lasting change. We expect that you will see significant progress in the time we are working together, and if you don't, we will help you find someone who can offer that to you.
In my 20 plus years of experience, I have had the privilege of helping individuals and families in a variety of settings. I strive to provide a place of acceptance in which clients can explore the connections between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors with the goal of changing negative thought patterns to facilitate lasting change. My approach to therapy is to focus on the inherent strengths and worth of each individual while fostering a therapeutic relationship of respect and collaboration. Truthfully, I learn so much from my clients in this process. My personality and style are both positive and warm. My hope is that I convey to my clients the authentic joy that I find in my work.
My goal as a counselor is to help others UNLEARN how to be their own worst enemies. Perhaps you're feeling so low or worry so much that it doesn't seem like you are fully living life anymore. Maybe your self-esteem is low, and you've lost sight of what makes you a beautiful being. I aim to meet a client where they are and understand how they view themselves and the world. Then can change begin to occur. I help clients learn to better understand themselves and introduce skills that can help them cope with the uncomfortable thoughts and feelings they experience. I bring fun into the therapy process by incorporating activities, art and the client's creativity in session. Counseling is tailored to fit each client's needs and I welcome input from my clients. I welcome clients of all ages and backgrounds. Please feel free to reach out via phone or email. I look forward to hearing from you and starting this journey with you.
The typical challenges people face are embedded in fear of rejection, loneliness and disconnection - not feeling likable and lovable. Meaningful living can be achieved by acknowledging this fear and acting intentionally to create love, authenticity, and congruence. I believe effective counseling is grounded in a trusting and affirming working alliance. I work from an interpersonal perspective, meaning our professional relationship is the key to a positive and productive experience. Grounding my training in Existential-Humanistic theory, I seek to support your effort to find personal meaning and self-understanding, to explore your lived experience and discover the most genuine you. I offer support to achieve insight and the tools to cultivate purposeful transformation, enabling you to live a meaningful life in the face of uncertainty and potential suffering. We all take turns with suffering; we all take turns with joy. You can feel accomplished and connected; I can help.
Hi! I’m currently accepting new clients and referrals for teens and adults (13+) who are dealing with anxiety, trauma, depression, low self-esteem, life stress… or just that constant feeling of “wow, this is a lot.” If you’ve ever asked yourself, “why am I like this?” while overthinking a text for 45 minutes, replaying conversations like a highlight reel, or ending up in the same situation with different people—yeah, you’re in the right place. And if childhood experiences are still popping up in your adult life like an uninvited guest who refuses to leave… that’s more common than you think. Therapy with me is a real, no-judgment space where we can unpack what’s going on, connect the dots, and actually start shifting patterns—not just analyzing them at 2 a.m. There’s room for honesty, growth, and some humor along the way (because sometimes your brain really does wake up and choose chaos for no reason). My style is laid-back, supportive, and direct. I take a person-centered approach, so we go at your pace—whether you’re thriving, surviving, or somewhere in between. Whether it’s overthinking, relationship stress, family dynamics, or trying to figure out who you are and what you want (no small task), we’ll work together to help you feel more grounded, confident, and in control. No pressure. No perfection. Just a space where you can show up as you are. Insurance & Payment Options • Self-pay • Blue Cross Blue Shield • Aetna • United Healthcare / Optum

In addition to being a therapist, I am a Certified Integrative Mental Health Professional. This helps me to educate my clients on how diet, exercise, and lifestyle affect mental health. At Stillwell Athens, we offer both individual counseling and an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) to support college students and all young adults who are navigating emotional, relational, or life transitions. We provide different levels of care so clients can access the amount of support they need, whether that’s weekly therapy or more structured, consistent treatment, without stepping away from school, work, or daily responsibilities. Our approach is relational, developmentally informed, and evidence-based. We work with individuals, couples, and families using modalities such as CBT and DBT, alongside experiential and creative approaches when appropriate. We regularly support college students and young adults adjusting to independence, academic or career stress, and relationship challenges, as well as adults and parents managing changing family dynamics, identity shifts, and major life decisions. For those who need more than individual therapy alone, our IOP provides increased structure, group support, and clinical care while remaining fully outpatient. This option is well-suited for clients who are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or in need of additional accountability and connection. 10-15 hours of therapeutic support per week. At Stillwell, we focus on helping our clients build insight, develop practical skills, and strengthen the supports that allow for meaningful, sustainable change. You don't have to put your life on hold or compromise your mental health and wellbeing.

Both in-person sessions and telehealth options available, extending services throughout Colorado and Georgia. Welcome to Healing Hearts & Minds, where healing begins with grace, compassion, and purpose. I believe therapy should be a place where you can come exactly as you are—without the pressure to have everything figured out or pretend you're okay. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, relationship challenges, life transitions, grief, or simply feeling overwhelmed, my goal is to create a space where you feel safe, heard, and understood. I believe people are far more than a diagnosis or the hardest season of their lives. My approach is relational, collaborative, and practical. Together, we'll work to understand not only what brought you to therapy, but also the patterns, beliefs, and experiences that may be keeping you stuck. As trust develops, we'll gently challenge those barriers while building healthy coping skills, confidence, and resilience. My hope is that therapy becomes more than a place to manage symptoms. I want it to be a place where you rediscover your authentic self, learn to trust yourself again, strengthen your relationships, and move forward with confidence and purpose. Whether you're seeking support for a temporary life challenge or a longer healing journey, you'll be met with grace, compassion, and genuine care every step of the way.
